The LB corps are fantastic! I think the Colvin/Holdman/Url years were quite excellent, and I'm at minimum seeing that. I'm not quite ready to say they're up with Samurai, Wilbur and Mama's Boy Otis! Bring the pain!
-
It's a nice trend for sure! I think I heard somewhere that combined with the end of last season, his numbers are quite excellent. If he can keep it up, we're going to be a happy fan base this season!

No offense in the least! I didn't say we couldn't win, I just don't think we will win. It's do or die with a bonafide playoff calibur team. I wouldn't follow the slippery slope of who beat who before. After all, the Ravens beat the Jets who beat NE who beat Cincy who beat the Ravens... I believe we will compete, and with that, there is a possibility of a win. I just think Rodgers will carve us up on 3rd downs, which is where we continue to struggle. But...we have seemed to KO a major player on the opposite team each week. Last week is was Stafford, this week it was Witten. Who will it be Monday? If we KO Rodgers...that severely impacts a whole lot!

I'd tend to agree... 4. I'm not sold on, but have no problem trying it. Harris is useless.

Yesterday was a fun win unlike last week! It looked dismal at the start and I thought it'd be a long day ending with Cutler leaving on a stretcher. Then, Martz the Mad Scientist, went to work and adjusted immediately! A real OC! Then we rode it all the way to victory! A few observations... 1. Cutler looks like the franchise guy we all wanted. It's only 2 games, but those are the games we've got. So far so VERY good! Next week on MNF (where we historically lay eggs with extreme predjudice) will be a true test... 2. Martz and Tice made beautiful in game adjustments. Big boy play calling. I'm not one to give Smith credit, but I will. He appeared to get out of the way and let these offensive minds do their jobs. 3. The linebacking crew is stupid good! Url and Briggs are playing like maniacs! And Piso made some great plays too! Life is good when Bears linebackers are kicking ass! 4. The D line was fair. I thought they'd get more in Romo's dish. They did well enough, but not great. However, Peppers always looked to be in on plays and was just inches from making big plays. Harris, on the other hand, is a complete waste of space. Also, Anderson spins more than a ballet dancer and was just as useful as one. It's time to have Peppers, Big Toe, Adams, and Izzy as the starters. 5. Moore totally reminded me of Vasher. Great nickel guy! 6. Peanut needs long cleats...and a cold one for his epic stripping! 7. Our D plan is suspect. We gave up FAR too many 3rd and longs yet again. We need to fix this or GB and a few others will destroy us. Good win! Fun win! I suspect we won't beat Green Bay, but I believe we'll be in the game and it'll be close.

Well said!

Yeah, I called Moore "Vasher Jr." yesterday when I saw the 2nd pick. Seems the kind of guy, that as a nickel or dime back, could be a huge help. Not a strter, but good in the mix.
-
Exactly... But it was still a gorgeous TD catch!
-
You just learned that! That class was taught years ago! But, the Bears tend to do better when not a favorite. They don't handle success and praise well.
-
Agreed!
-
Yeah, Harris is useless.

Well put. Hester made a GREAT play on the that catch. But he also missed a gimme. He needs to be more consistent, but that catch was certainly a big boy catch! Martz's adjustments and play calling were amazing... I was a little disappointed with the D line as they never really got to Romo, but they did well enough for Url and Briggs to shine yet again. Tommie Harris is a waste of space. Toeinea looked much better.
-
Exactly! 2 words...longer cleats.
-
But can we get him some longer cleats! he was sliding all over the field yesterday! Kudos to peanut! That a stripper!
-
Well put...Martz's adjustments were a thing of beauty. I can't recall ever seeing our team adjust so early in a gaem. Usually they wait until half-time or at the end of the game... It was awesome. Martz is making a difference.

Ha! That works!

Why the heck are we not in the mix on this?

My heart would huty a biyt, but my ire with Smith would expand. He has misused Hester for too long and ruined his greatness. I'm not sure he can be saved. So in essence, I'd be OK with Hester and a pick. Espscially if it were a 3rd... -
I'm brain farting...who was #47?
-
Please, Peppers, Url, Briggs and Harris (well, maybe not Harris since Cowher might not stand for his BS) would all find roles in any defense. Willie Parker seemed to do OK with Cowher...so your loss of Forte quip really doesn't make much sense. And yeah, we do need a big man yard getting RB! We obviously don't have one now. So let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. Something tells me, Cowher would find a way to maximize the defensive and offensive effort in ways that Smith would never consider given the pieces of the puzzle he has at hand.
-
I'm going to maintain my silliness from last week... Bears 54, Cryboys -2
-
No, but he got deep into the playoffs. A game away from the SB. Yeah. If we had Cowher, he'd have come cheaper...
-
Really? Do you honestly believe that they aren't just towing the line? You only hear grumblings when things have gotten so bad, it's the point of no return. Smith treats his players like a Club Med...so of course they love him. The Cobays are beatable...but we have to not make the plethora of greivous errors in play and in coaching.

If I worked for a boss that gave me vacations every year and didn't work me hard, I'd like him too. Odds are the company's results would be poor... Henceforth, where we are at... And yes, I too agree that the Dallas game is winnable.
