  1. I'm sure salary was part of the reason he had yet to sign...
  2. Yes, but that's acting! Zack G didn't take that punch in real life!
  3. Butting in...I think he's referring to higher level coordinators. Not positional, lower level spots.
  4. That statement is beyond brilliant! Kudos!
  5. I'd be quicker than a Tyson fight in his heyday...
  6. Please...the Colts owe us no such courtesy. They are trying to win a Super Bowl and could give a flying F on the woes of our franchise.
  7. Good thinking! Yea, why would he come here when opportunity may happen in house...and with a SB quality team?
  8. I'm sorry. i just don't buy it as anything other than the team being cheap and not being forward thinking. It's a total full on cop out. This organization can weather out a storm for one year to make even greater profits down the road.
  9. Which, in the meantime, a more forward thinking club will pony up and give him what he wants...like Carlonia or someone else.
  10. All well and good. But I just think that there's more in the coffers than giving them a pass on poor long term foresight. I love hearing about all this work stoppage and CBA... It doesn't all come crashing in 2011. 2012 will probably result in even greater profits for the owners...for more than likely many many moons. So, you take on a little water one year in order to sail through calm waters for decades... I mentioned it earlier, but to me this is a franchise that seems to be playing scared.
  11. That would then be one of the most joyous moments in Bears history...
  12. All true...we paid Smith a boatload for instance. However, if this story is correct, then it simply adds to the fire that this is a cheap ownerhsip. They don't want to get rid of Smith due to money, they are afraid of the impeding stike (money), they don't want to bring in big name coordinators ($)...it just all reads as bad PR that the org is cheap. Whether the reality of it may be different, which I kind of doubt (I feel that the team was uber pressured into paying the staff), the perception is just plain bad. And that starts seeping through every aspect of this business and through the grapevine.
  13. Dave McGinnis? Bottom line, it just is more bad PR... A vast majoity of us called this from way back. Keeping Smith would hinder us and we'd pay the price for it down the road.
  14. Exactly! Man up, ax this lame duck, get on with the real hires and stop this atrocious and embarassing dog & pony show! Can Virgy just come out, fire Teddy as president (demoting him to bean counter), saying she's disppapointed that he couldn't see this happening and trusted him, fire Zombie and JA, put Brian McCaskey as president (or any other McCaskey than Mikey-boy), hire Cowher in whatever damn capacity he wants and have him hire the rest? I know...it's a lot to ask for.
  15. You appear to be onto something... I recall even Jimmy Mac saying similar back in the day. What gives?
  16. Dammit Connor! I thought everything you put down was set in stone!
  17. That's why I'm annoyed w/ Pompei, he sed to be good. I've seen him basically be an apologist for the current regime many a time on Chicago Tribune Live.
  18. Like Dan Pompei seems to be doing now...
  19. Again, it's hard to soar like an eagle when you work for a bunch of turkeys. It's like bashing a guy for staying in college instead of going pro. Maybe he wants to hone his skill sets more? I've received many job offers in my time, and turned down more than I've accepted. Sometimes you don't really care for the company or people you'd directly work for... Money and title aren't everything.
  20. Makes me smile! It's easily the best part of last season I think!
