  1. The way this team is run continues to baffle me at a remarkable percentage... It's pretty much constant, like Swiss timing.
  2. Godd! Maybe they can screw up as badly as we did then!
  3. Honestly, I hope the next regime get a fresh start accross the board.
  4. I'm afraid. Martz picked Bulger over Warner. Do we really need that looking possibility? I too would rather let Hanie still be the man at #2.
  5. Wrong topic flea... Can this be moved to non-football/Bears?
  6. No. In fact, the overwhelming majority of breathing species in this universe feel the same way. Except of course for Smith and JA...
  7. Firing Smith and Angelo... But, more realistically....I'd be fairly content with improving both lines and adding a legit S. All slots need to be fairly young...
  8. He's probably a firey guy that motivates and knows all of the D. Kind of what we could use!
  9. Jets officially hire Mark Carrier Posted by Mike Florio on February 12, 2010 5:55 PM ET During his career, Mark Carrier was a hard-hitting safety whose penchant for kill shots ultimately got him suspended. He has since gotten into coaching, and he'll now join one of the toughest defensive units in the land. The Jets have announced that Carrier has been hired to coach the team's defensive line. The impending move was first reported last week by the Baltimore Sun. Carrier spent the past four seasons as the secondary coach with the Ravens.
  10. Ever since he shaved his 'stache, I haven't trusted him.
  11. No doubt, but at the same time he made it better. Not as good as we all hoped, but w/o him, it could have been far worse. Given what was out there and our needs at the time, we over-paid for an upgrade.
  12. Fair enough. But it's assuming that JA, unlike the last 2 years, will actually seek out good FA's to fill our needs. I just think if there's a will, there's a way.
  13. I'm gonna follow in a WR diva's footsteps and prop myself for having over 5,000 posts! I apologize to everyone who's sick of reading my stuff! But, too bad, there's still more to come! ...and seriously, thanks everyone for putting up with me all these years! Hopefully, there's some nuggets of good stuff amidst my drivel!
  14. Thanks, nfo. You pretty much responded how I would have.
  15. No argument there. The lines are still our priority. But this thread is talking about an opportunity to upgreade WR. If someone through out that a stud OL was looking for loot and a trade of a 3rd round pick, I'd be all for that over this. But right now, assuming all else being nothing...I have no issue persuing Boldin for a 3rd. Do you realy think JA will draft a great OL with our 3rd round pick? I don't. I hope. But the law of averages are against us.
  16. But didn't Moose bring a respectability to our passing game? He wasn't the end all be all, but for a few seasons, I believe he made a difference. Man, you guys sound completely sold on "potential" of our WR corps. Sorry to say, and I'm sure no one will be surprised to hear, that I am not. I like them. I hope. But if there's a better way, I'd take it. Boldin is that better way I feel.
  17. If we eliminated every diva from the pool of WR's we'd want, there wouldn't be any in line to choose from other than some slow guy from a seminary school.
  18. True, but I'm not sure if you've read my other posts. The one thing Teddy-boy is good at is loot management. So, I don't think getting Boldin a contract he'd be happy with would be a problem. There is some dead weight to cut on this current roster as well... I just think we simply disagree on Boldin's value to the team.
  19. Rant away chitownman! I'm sure folks want to hear some good complaining about this regime that isn't just coming from me!
  20. Hopefull, while not flogging a dead horse, I think that was it. That the slots for picks 1-3 are of higher dollar amount, and thus seem more bust-like. I think it's just simply saying whiffing on picks 1-3 sucks.

  22. I get his point. At least I think that's his point... It's that our pickets 1-3 historically have not been great, while 4-7 have been pleasing. Most the money is tied up in 1-3. Thus you're throwing big money at bad, but small money at good. I'm not sure it progresses the argument or anything. I think he's just making an observation that the failure of getting studs (or blue chip players as nfo likes saying) in rounds 1-3 is simply costly... Whether that's a failing of the pick itself or of the coaching staff to develop said players is a different debate.
  23. I could be wrong, but I think what lemon was trying to say is given our failings in the early rounds, those picks eat up the most chunk of cash for rookies.
  24. Can you give examples where the DL did similar?
