  1. Ha! Honestly, I am not expecting anything different from Cutler. He'll start off well, then tank mid-season, then play a few good games at the end when it doesn't matter to screw up our draft slot. Or, maybe he plays as well as he did under Martz? Until we are playing real games, I'm trying hard not to really care, other than injuries. I'm super disappointed we won't get to see Kevin White. But, other than that, I'm interested in seeing the overall improvement from laughing stock to somewhat respectable. At least I hope!
  2. Thanks for the invite fellas... I just signed up as the Lithuanian Sensation if it wasn't obvious enough!
  3. Very sad. I hope he gets the help he needs.
  4. If you need a player, I'm happy to jump in.
  5. Bingo! I think Virgie and George had enough...
  6. Thank you for that info. That sheds some light on what I (and probalby more than a few of us) know very little about.
  7. Jeffrey isn't playing in week 1?
  8. I hear ya... McPhee didn't impress me either. But, given his overall experience, I'm not worried at the moment...
  9. Really good observations. I came away with virtually the same. However, one standout you didn't mention was Acho. Between SMC, Jones and Acho...I think we might be OK. Not great, but OK. Daniel THomas looked about as bad as a RB could look...
  10. You trade away the cancer who's been traded 2 times before... It's not like 2 other franchises didn't come up with the exact same conclusion. He'll look great in NY this year (although I haven't the foggiest who's throwing him the pill), then fall off next. There's a pattern here. However, what I get out of this is the Bears have no choice but to get Alshon a long term contract. If White can't be a true star, and we won't know...then it would appear geting Alshon locked up isn't a bad move. Although, we could play tag next year and see what Whilte does next year.
  11. Agreed. I'm not surprised. I was expecting the worst. But anyone thinking "bust" at this point is extremely pre-mature. Let's prepare to have this kid available next season. Next man up.
  12. I do see it happening more in the future as the coaches start to retire... As the game is set up more to help the O, it makes sense to give it a 4th chance. Seems to me the logic could be go for it, barring and easy FG depending on score and point and time in the game. And for the same if you're deep in your own end zome for the other team to turn it into a score. Or a ridiculous 4th and 20... Looks like a theory some should use in Madden!
  13. The Bears need not be clear. As much as us fans would like it, they (like most clubs) like to keep it close to the vest. It's best to plan for the worst and hope for the best. I see him hitting the field around week 4-6, and not impacting until about week 8. Which would then get him in prime shape for next season...when we will have more firepower on D and maybe a new franchise QB. (either a revitalized Cutler or a new guy altogether)
  14. My sentiments as well. It's hard to put too much stock in game 1 of pre-season, but knowing what we've seen the from the past...it's hard not to be a bit pessimistic. The RB situation is interesting with Carey and Sinorice playing so well. I really disliked what I saw out of Vereen. Other than that, nothing else really was that informative.

  16. Did you get that from FootballGuys? I read something similar from them over the weekend.
  17. Loose lips sink ships!
  18. At the moment, I'm not worried on a number of fronts. It's really still early, and we probably aren't Super Bowl bound w/ or w/o him anyway. We all want him there instead of not there. But until he misses all 4 pre-season games, I won't worry.
  19. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Kevin White (shin splints) will resume running next week. It's the first time we've heard White's mysterious shin injury referred to as "splints." It's a painful injury typically suffered by runners upping their training or going too hard. White must have been ramping up his workouts in anticipation of his first NFL camp. Rapsheet reported earlier Thursday that the reserve/PUP list is a possibility for White, but also that he's "itching to go." We doubt a team would sacrifice its first-rounder's first six games over shin splints. Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter Aug 6 - 1:18 PM http://www.rotoworld.com/sports/nfl/football?r=1
