  1. The parting needed to happen... He will retire a Bear and will always be a Bear.
  2. You need to drink a shot for that comment!
  3. Will Willie be ready to play after injury early? I've not heard anything recently...
  4. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/...-to-linebacker/ Jared Allen “having fun” with move to linebacker Posted by Josh Alper on June 3, 2015, 4:24 PM EDT Jared Allen AP When Jared Allen was with the Vikings, he balked at the idea of moving from defensive end to outside linebacker. On Wednesday, Allen chalked that up to “ignorance” while discussing the very same transition that he’s making with the Bears this offseason. Allen said that he thinks he’ll be doing the same kinds of things at his new spot, but that playing linebacker will be “easier on my body.” “My body feels fresher because I’m not banging every single day and putting my hands on a 300-plus pounder and banging heads and that kind of stuff,” Allen said, via ESPN.com. “I like it because it is testing my football IQ. I’ve always loved the game and have always been a student of the game. Sometimes it can get monotonous and you play the same thing over and over and see the same blocks over and over. You have to work really hard at not getting complacent with your technique. This is a totally different thought process for me and it’s really forcing me to study. I’m having fun with it. I know it’s just OTAs, but being out there and seeing the one-on-one matchups that I’ve been able to create and the rush angles I’ve been able to create, so it’s kind of broadening my perspective on football. For me it’s been a blast and I’m just excited to keep going.” Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has shared his opinion that the move will serve as a “rebirth” after a career-low 5.5 sacks in 2014 and it certainly seems to have sparked something in Allen this offseason. As Allen, who also battle pneumonia last season, pointed out, though, it’s just OTAs and he’ll have to prove that a break from monotony is enough to refill a tank that looked empty too often last season.
  5. Yuck and yes! I really would love to see the growlin' bear logo on the helmet. As at least and alternate. However, I don't want it SO big, and want the helmet to still be navy, not orange! I like the "C", but it is a bit generic. The growling bear logo is unigue. And cool looking.
  6. Agreed. Some go far, but can't get over the hump...like Doug Collins.
  7. It was all Krause. Jerry just gave Krause the authority...
  8. Overall, this worked out as it should have. I wasn't super thrilled to have a guy with such a checkered past on board, but I figured the Bears did their due diligence and figured who not give the guy a second chance if all the accusations were false. He was given a very short leash. And he botched it. Whether or not anything actually happened, he is at minimum guilty of yet again putting himself in a compromising position. The team was right in letting him go. At the end of the day, I am happy in the end result. I really like to root for my players. I can compartmentalize that guys are a-holes, etc...but actual violent offenders are tough to really root for. For instance, I had a very hard timing rooting for Ricky Manning Jr. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ricky_Manning In retrospect, it probably would have been best to pass on McDonald. But, he is not a Bear now. I also think McCaskey's comments earlier sound a bit foolish now. But, it'll pass and hopefully he learns from it. My biggest concern is now on Fangio. I can't imagine he has any more pull regarding personnel decisions... He stuck his neck out and needs to pay the price for doing so. Hopefully, he can prove himself down the road.
  9. You keep bringing up the same point, but have not answered these... 1. The deflated ball could have helped in the Colts game. Who is to say that Brady doesn't score 80 points in the 2nd half of that game with his preferred balls? Just because the first half was close, just means the first half was close. Ever see a Bulls game w/ Jordan? Lot's of times, they slept through the first halves of games only to destroy in the 2nd. If you looked at the first quarter of SB 20, you'd almost think the Bears would be beaten...$hit happens. It doesn't always correlate to absolutes. 2. Again, who is to say Brady's preferred deflated balls could have resulted in a game that didn't come down to just Pete Carroll making the dumbest call in football history? Maybe they win by 3 TD's? The problem, as mentioned earlier, is we don't really know. But, at least you agree that rules were broken and puishment need to be handed down. At the end of the day, that is really the crux.
  10. Agreed. I'd imagine the Brady appeal should happen quickly now.
  11. I just think take out the "extra" bit all together. The 2 pt conversion I think we added in the late 80's or early 90's. Just score...get your points and if you need more, kick it onsides.
  12. How about one last option...? No extra point. Make TD's 7 points and call it a day.
  13. Couldn't resist! Someone in my office told the joke, and I had to share...
  14. Bartender thinks to himself, “I guess the Patriots must be in town”.
  15. No argument here. I too am basically done with him. Sure, I hope he does well, etc. I simply am expecting more of the same. Look great, then look awful at the worst possible moment. It is time to find a successor no matter what happens this and next season.
