  1. You may be onto something....
  2. Getting better from an injury and opening a BBQ restaurant are 2 different things... Pat Mannelly said the same on the Score today.
  3. Urlacher was horrible with the media, but not as a team leader. There, he rocked. I'm sorry, but just from all the years I've watched, I've not seen that from Briggs. He actually plays the media far better than Url did. I don't see anything resembling leadership from Briggs. I see him playing well. Not being a leader per se. No reporter has ever made mention that Briggs is a leader. Not to say, they are all knowing...but I just don't see it.
  4. I see the worry with Briggs. With Marshall, I do not. Since coming here, he's not given us anythign to believe we should be concerned. Briggs, on the other hand, has...numerous times. I don't begrudge Trestman and Emery allowing it. I begrudge Briggs asking...
  5. Are we talking about the same guy? The leader who refused to talk to the media, etc?
  6. It certainly reeks... I've been one to question his ethics over the years. I am not surprised. My hope is he just brings it one more season. We need him.

  8. Not sure I care though... But maybe a backup?
  9. Good points. However, I don't want to give him that much slack. He drafted, so the buck stops at him. I think as long as 2013 and on look really good, I won't have issue with just calling 2012 the Alshon draft!
  10. Agreed. But if that starter is a potential pro bowler...it's a little easier bitter pill to swallow. And yes, it would have been a bad draft for Emery. The good thing, is he appears willing to move on from mistakes. SMC is the one they are giving one last shot to. If he can't contribute strongly, I'll bet he's gone. Time to continue to draft for D. We need a S and LB. Another OL and DL couldn't hurt. Also, a TE. Keep on trying to go young.
  11. Yup. SMC is the fail. Granted, there have been worse, but that one hurts. I still contend that SMith had his hands in it...but it's Emery's watch, so he's responsible. But, let's judge things in 2 more draft. Then, we'll truly have the goods. So far, he's been hit & miss. The misses hurt, but the hits seem quite lovely...
  12. Yes, S is bad. But our corner group should end up pretty good.
  13. No arguement there. Hell, can we also include Fuller as you infer? 3 of 7 ain't horrific. And if you tack in the best of Briggs and Bostic...maybe that's worth one warm body? 4 of 7?
  14. Alshon is such the stud, that he makes up for the others... However, the SMC one is the real weak area if he ends up a bust. I'm not holding out much hope...but there is a chance he could at least be a solid contributing player. ...and yeah, overall, 2012 could be a fairly weak draft. But, Alshon makes all the difference!
  15. Honestly, more importantly we lost Toub for DeCamilis. That is what hurts more...
  16. Agreed. We simply couldn't afford the luxery given all other needs.
  17. Piss poor. Marshall seemed to be only guy worth his price. I can easily sluff off a preseason loss. But the big takeaway, it that Seattle's 3rd down efficiency was something like 70%. That, will simply kill us if it is even remotely close to what the season holds.

Honestly, if we split with all our divisional opponents, it wouldn't be a shock. Sadly, neither would losing out. Or happily, winning out. Anything can happen in divisional games. Especially when there's enough talent on both sides. Only Minny would appear to be the one team we should take both. However, AP alone can change that... IN the end, you know there will be games we should have lost, but won. And games we should have won, but lost. The hope is that there are only a couple of those, and the rest we rightfully win the ones we should.
  19. Total mixe3d bag. What I don't like is that he's inconsistent. He plays super hardass for some, and not for others. If he were hardass across the board, I'd have little issue. At least you knew where he stands and all are treated the same. I hate the rule tweaks too. I'm just old school. I think the Ep will go. The thing I've heard that I could live with is a TC is 7 points. However, if you so deem you want to go for it for a conversion, you get the ball on the 5 (I think that's what I heard)...if you make it you get an extra (so 8 total), and if you miss, you lose a pointe (you get 6). It simply takes out the ep. FG's would still come into play. Fantasy values for kickers would lessen even more!
