  1. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter · 4h Major questions about Bears WRs, Marshall and Jeffery. One source said "75 percent" sure neither plays tonight. Bears signed two PS WRs Sat. https://twitter.com/adamschefter
  2. Damn, those pictures are truly disturbing. WTF is going on in the NFL? Has this simply been going on for decades and the light is finally being shed? From those pictures, AP should be suspended indefinitely. Zero tolerance for violence against women and children. Enough already... I'm sorry, but these violent offenders need to be kicked to the curb. There are more then enough really good people I'm sure in the league that don't beat women and children that would love those jobs... It's a privelege to work in the NFL, not a right. These guys have abused that privelege when they decided to abuse women and childen. F Peterson. All respect is lost.
  3. I bet both play. Marshall fully plays. They feel Jeffery out and test him early, but keep him in and out resting him. Without our big 2 our chances turn to virtually zero.
  4. Agreed. I don't think he'll be missed anyway...
  5. There are 14 other games to feel that way about! ...again, I hope, I'm wrong.
  6. Lock of the week! SF will destroy us by at least 15 points. Sorry, but I've seen this movie too many times... 1. on the road 2. night game 3. bad D 4. playing SF who always light us up like Christmas trees 5. opening a new stadium on national tv Sorry to gloomy, but this one looks like it's an easy loss. That said, I hope I'm wrong.

  8. Cutler just signed the big contract, so he's not going anywhere for this season or the next 2 at minimum.
  9. Outstanding analysi (sp?) Adam! Keep 'em coming!
  10. That is a much more accurate assessment of what we saw yesterday... And have seen most of his career. I expect to see the same. The hope is that the Hyde moments lessen, or at least come of better times instead of crucial moments.
  11. Despite your hate of Cutler, the offense is still good. Not great. Good. BM, AJ and MF are all great. MB is good. Our line is good. Cutler is mediocre at the moment. Add all that up and it's good.
  12. Agreed. He looked good. And I like what I saw of Fuller.
  13. I'm OK with our O. I feel that will be fine. My concern is on D. I think you are crazy! But, I sure hope you're right!
  14. 1. There are countless examples...I just mentioned 1. 2. Same as 1... 3. Bad luck from the standpoint that Marshall rarely gets stripped. And the ball could have bounced back to Marshall...it didn't. Takeaways: 1. Sure. 8-8 is reasonable. Just saying, we all pretty much thought we'd reasonably be looking at a Wold Card berth before Sunday. I'm saying, if what we saw yesterday is correct, then our O should be fine and our D will be horrid. Thus wining about 50% of the time and missing the playoffs. 2. One can always learn. Whether they want to or not is another thing altogether. 3. Tucker will not be fired mid season. It will only happen in the off season. The Bear simply do not do that historically. Tucker has the full season to fail. 4. This is why I said next year is our window for a championship run. Call this season what you will. But I'm simply not seeing it right now as a Super Bowl bound one. Stranger things can happen, but I don't see us having the horses on D yet. One more off-season could provide that.
  15. Yesterday sucked. But I didn't see us losing that game until that botched long run allowed on D in OT. I kept thinking we'd overcome. Losing it sucked. There's tons of blame to go around. We've all touched upon those elements. 1. Coaching (bad play calling on O and D) 2. Execution (Cutler's stupid pick on 3rd and short) 3. Bad luck (Marshall getting stripped) 4. Poor management (Emery not finding a better safety or buying into an aging Allen) My takeaways are these: 1. If this is what we are, prep for an 8-8 season with some fun and not so fun games 2. If we learn from this, we can be decent. However, lack of consistent pressure from the D line is a HUGE concern. Manuel had all day to throw. Briggs is old as sin. Tillman always looks bad against small WR's...and he looked a little old. Shae was nowhere to be found...I think the experiment is all but over. Let Jones play LB. He at least plays mean. 3. My gut tells me Tucker is no good. It's only one game...but I just have nothing but bad feelings about him. 4. This is a build year. The hope is to make the playoffs and get invited to the dance. We'll get bounced fast, but having that experience should be beneficial. Next year is our true window after getting some more D help...and hopefully a new DC. I fully expect to get our asses handed to us next week. It's SF. In SF. Opening their new building for all the world to see. This is the kind of game we don't show up to and opposing teams have banner games. There is a chance that we come in and compete and at least make them work for it. I just do not seeus winning under virtually any scenario. I see us either losing something like 35-28 or 45-10. It'll be interesting to see...
  16. Sorry, but the Bears made the correct decision in keeping Cutler over McCown. Cutler may not be the guy. But McCown certainly isn't. Like numerous back-up's before him (Scott Mitchell, Flynn, etc) , McCown had the planets align nicely for himself and did us good. But you do not bet the farm on that. At the moment, Cutler lead us to a playoff berth in the past. McCown did not. Nuff said? Cutler deserves the grief today for certain. But we've got him for the next 3 seasons for sure. So, we all best hope for either "him getting it finally" or pure luck!
  17. Agreed. I also was not shocked to see the free pass Rodgers got for chewing out his rookie center. If that were Cutler, he'd be crucified. PFT wrote something about it... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/...ant-on-offense/ excerpt: 1. Aaron Rodgers already has his Super Bowl ring and an MVP trophy. But if he didn’t, he’d be getting a lot more scrutiny for some of his outbursts. Barking at rookie center Corey Linsley in front of the world when he had to burn a timeout in the first half was a bad look for the Packers quarterback. Linsley, bless his heart, was thrown into a tough spot in his first game, unable to hear or imagine what was coming next. That doesn’t make his error excusable, but the reaction seemed over the top. It’s not that the yelling was out of the ordinary, but it’s a great example of context in the NFL. When Rodgers or Tom Brady does it, it’s competitiveness. When Jay Cutler does it, it’s a sign of immaturity. God forbid Cam Newton took the towel off his head and did the same. If Rodgers really wanted to bark at someone, he might have chosen the folks who put together the game plan. He was throwing almost nothing but dump-offs (18 passes for 86 yards in the first half) when the game was competitive, and the circus that was a fourth-down attempt in the second half will be dissected for days.
  18. I'd have rather had an AFC team beat them, but a loss on the Packers just plain makes me smile. Seattle looked damn good beating them. But, like every team...they have a weakness. We just need to find it. Or when we play them in the NFC championship, we need to just get lucky!
