Week 15 Official Game Thread - Bears at Browns, DEC 17th, 12pm, FOX, CHI +3, O/U 37
after all the physical measurements etc, there are some players who are just winners. If it takes catching the ball on the top of your helmet in the Super Bowl to win, you find a way. The BEars have been beaten by GB QB last minute winner plays so many times - we know what it looks like. Mooney is not a winner.

Mooney is not a hero. He had that in his hands. Mooney and Velus Jones need to open a Dry Cleaners.

ok fair enough. I still think since Fields is late in his timing, he should eliminate it.

so on that high pass to Scott, I hate to say it, but Fields took too long to find him. He was open for a while, and Fields could have pulled the trigger instead of rolling out and throwing without his base under him. And of course thats what makes the ball sail.

Fields gets 30 seconds and no timeouts. its not a "fair" test, but it is what it is.

yeah and he isnt a top tier QB either. Fields isnt the only one that isnt a top 5 QB I agree. Fields' main weakness is getting the ball out faster. He is doing much better at it the past two weeks. I want to see him eliminate those wasted moments and be great. I dont understand making excuses for him - dont we all want him to be great? that means improvement. We can disagree on whether he will achieve that, and disagree on whether to bet big on it, but it's what we all want right? So wouldnt we all want him to stop patting the ball?

those two long field goal attempts we didnt take look bad now. If we'd hit one of them wed have the lead. I dont like Eberflus as a head coach.

they are challenging our ability to get the ball out fast. Thats Fields, but its also the routes and receivers getting open etc.

nothing. now hopefully the defense gets Fields one more chance to do it.

true. a playoff caliber QB finds a way here. a guy you pay the big money here takes the team on his back and makes up for the other players you cant afford because you paid him.

I think of all the things that are uncertain, a new OC (at the least) is a certainty.

the pat of the ball is why the defender got to Fields. Dammit. Just throw the damn ball, you dont have to say goodbye to it first.

hell yes. And with his addition, even on plays he doesnt get sacks or hurries, QBs still cant just sit back there, and suddenly we can see how well all the back seven can play.

Anything comments
the link you provided was for a player drafted in 2019. He had a 5 year deal, not a 5th year option. The new 5th year option rules came into effect in 2020. EDIT - I researched, and the rule was adopted 2018, so I was wrong about your example not applying. Now the question is whether that site has the rule right or not regarding trades. I still think Im right about that, but the rule IS older than I thought. On further research, i was wrong about that.
