  1. agree! I'm thrilled to see this level of coaching.
  2. Rookies come to the NFL and learn all the time. You can't take Cutler's inablility to learn and extrapolate that to mean that only NFL ready players are worthy to draft. There wouldn't even be enough to fill the first round.
  3. Slauson had more than one bad snap. but I understand, he has never played center before, and I dont blame him for anything. But neither do I think that everything is fine with him at center. It'd be much better if he was back at guard, and we had a real center in there.

  5. Maybe moving Long to tackle changes some of our run playbook philosophy and the need for another solid run blocking TE changed. This late, maybe they picked up two guys to compete for that position.
  6. Thank you so much for the information!
  7. Hey Guys, My extended family and I are going to visit Bears training camp for the first time this year. I'm really excited. Of course as a newbie, I don't know anything about it, how it works, if you have to get there early, need tickets etc? Also, are there any must see or do attractions or restaurants etc in the area? I know some of you guys have a lot of experience in this, so any tips or info are greatly appreciated. Thank you! Kyle
  8. Remember that about half the time, when we are in nickel etc, that we will still run a four man DL, and in that case, Young will still bring value. Also I think Houston can play DE in the 3-4, rather than OLB.
  9. only the top 40 or 50 something salaries count against the cap.
  10. I wish the Eagles option still put the ball on the 2 yd line for 2 pt conversions.
  11. Also, the DTs are more likely to get on the field in a four man front on nickel and that means pass rush. Guys like Allen, Young and Furgeson are better suited to a four man front, and we will play lots of it, keeping everyone fresh. Honestly it makes our Nickel kinda nasty cuz people are better rested and have a 4-3 type skill set and a chip on their shoulders.

    What if

Pace is doing a great job. Everything is so under the radar. I think the original thought, NT Danny Shelton, makes a lot of sense for us at #7. Yes we need to look at WR Kevin White, and if QB Marcus Mariotta drops then there might be a trade down for us, or perhaps our scouts believe Mariotta is the second coming. But all that said, I can easily see Shelton being our pick. I think it's a high probability. It was the first obvious choice, weeks ago, and nothing's changed. Pace & Fox have let the press get tired of their own story and rethink another. Great job.
  13. Hahaha look at the replay, Payton dragged Lee out of bounds by his facemask and made it look like he was still going after Payton out of bounds, and got Lee ejected LOL
  14. Jason, this is very interesting, an attempt to see if there is a draft everyone can agree on, even if it's not anyone's first choice. What an interesting experiment in parallel processing. Cool.
  15. Maybe we can take them at face value that they simply dont know who will make it as a 3-4 LBer, and who si a LB and who is a DE. Maybe they really need to see em in pads, in which case they might well draft any defensive position in the front 7 no matter the body count.
  16. They will tell Cutler to do what they say or sit.
  17. If you recall, Emery (Cliff Stein?) included clauses in Cutler's contract whereby the Bears had the option to free up cap money by guaranteeing more the next year. Sounds like they did that. No need for Cutlers agent, because it's not a negotiation, just an option the Bears have.
  18. I think we draft Shelton, and Ratliffe plays at both NT and DE.
  19. I think we are blowing a lot of smoke and will take a NT with the #7 pick. I think Ratliffe and Sutton are 3-4 DEs, not nose tackles. Furgeson might be a NT.
  20. Also, you don't just evaluate players you are interested in, you evaluate ALL players so you can predict what others might do or think, for trades etc. Imagine if a trade for Cutler came up on draft day with Mariotta there for the taking. Regardless of what you think the right move is, you'd want to have done your homework to KNOW the answer definitively on short notice when the moment arose. Every team will do homework to see what they think of Mariotta no matter who their QB is. It's part of being thorough.
  21. I agree 100%, I dont think anyone thinks removing BM will fix Cutler, I doubt they think there is a good chance THEY can fix him either. He's just gonna be our QB while we build this year, and if he surprises us, then great, and if not then we have a high draft pick to draft his replacement.
  22. Yeah I'm fine with the move too. I think it was more about reeling Cutler in than anything else, but that's my personal theory. I feel that if Cutler and Marshall had each been trade-able, that it might have been Cutler that was gone.

    LOLovie

Thomas Jones was a very good player for us. The draft picks were awful.
