Only 6 more IR spots open out of the 8 a team can use, ouch. I feel the Bears need jenkins to ignite the fire to their offense. He opens those 50 yard screens with his tenacity.

I feel Trubisky vibes on bringing QB coaches and players to help him figure it out. If he doesn't get it this year, he never will. I'll give him some benefit that the line has been garbage but that will hopefully change in a few weeks of Jenkins and Whitehair get healthy and move back to original positions.

Week 2 Official Game Thread - CHI @ TB, 9/17, 12pm CDT, CHI +3, O/U 41.5

Put Patrick on the Bench, and send a message to Nate Davis and Chase Claypool that they are on notice. The Bears had so many broken plays from them not able to handle their assignments. There are more players to add but those 3 stood out the most. -
He has 75 million reason to smile and not care.

What sucks is every draft pick the last few seasons is now a waste. Damn fields.
-
I will be curious to see how Nate Davis performs. I hope he balls out and shows he don't need "practice" - Alan Iverson

I did draft Herbert in a FF keeper league as my 4th RB. I wanted to get Roschon a little deeper, but he was swiped before I could make that pick. I still want to see Roschon win the role and more so now with the jersey change, 23 is magical here.
-
Wow, bold move to make the change but I like it. 23 in this town comes with some weight so I hope he can carry it. I believe he will. I posted a while ago that he will take the reins come week 4, don't let me down.

They found a way to beat the world champs. KCs WRs have all speed and no hands. Hope Poles can shake this pattern that he brought with(Velus and Scott). Not saying they have major issues yet, but the signs are pointing.

I think 7 wins is safe. Remember the Bears normally play 12 on 11 and were in most games regardless of being outnumbered.
-
I remember the Arizona Denny Green game, Urlacher took over and the entire D followed. Lewis may have did so more often, but Brian played more so to his responsibility which was taking the center of the field out.

If Whitehairs hand recovers, he might get the nod back at C. If Feeney is better at C as some predict, then he might play there. My thinking is he is the insurance policy for C/G for injuries. Once everyone is healthy, they have to decide who goes. Patrick has to play well imo.

Record - 10 - 7 = all depends on game 1 MVP - Fields = if he can read and hit his targets the accolades will come OPOY - Moore was brought in to elevate the QB DPOY - Kyler Gordan leads team in INTs. The improved DL inside pressure helps ROY - Stevenson - he will get more targets and will end up taking some away. The Bears DBs will be one of the leagues best units Comeback -Claypool, have to follow again. Who else? Johnson or Jackson, but they really were not bad. Claypool came in lost and should be able to know his jib and execute.

If he doesn't have that understanding, they would cut him or will very soon. Year 1 is a benefit, year 2 will be an easy decision if he just don't grasp his duties

I still have hopes Velus becomes our Deebo. I hope Getsy can get him playing time and run a few plays for him on jet sweeps, bubble screens, or a deep ball. The kid lacks that game confidence that only comes by doing it.

Whitehair depends if his snapping hand heals. My gut tells me he has a fractured finger and playing C is out. Playing LG he can club wrap the hand, but banging on other big bodies might hurt the healing process. Typical healing time is 4-6 weeks, so it might be healed by the opener. Feeney and Patrick IMO are week 1 options at C. Patrick knows the system, so he should start and Feeney is the backup LG/C. You want Feeney to be ready in case either Whitehair or Patrick go down. That is safer than Patrick going in if Whitehair gets hurt. By week 4, you get Jenkins back and the Bears should know who to keep by then between Patrick/Feeney.

Jenkins and Kramer to the IR as I expected.

Kareem is more complete at DE in their eyes. Lewis and Gibson would be a pass rush specialist. That tells me come draft, look for bigger DEs that play the run well and set the edge. The sacks will come with greater inside pressure. As for Velus, the Bears are giving him this season to make or break. Ego might be in play and that is fine. They see something in his ability and we have seen a few glimpses even though his Punt Return ability lacks.
