Looks like Jalen Carter can be scratched off our big board if reports are true he was arrested for reckless driving after a fatality.
-
I would do it. I knew there was a newer chart but had the old one saved.
-
Using the ole NFL trade value chart, Detroit value: Rd1-6=1600, rd1-18=900, rd2-55=350 and a 2024 2nd rd pick = 250-300. Chicago pick 1 = 3000.

The Bears will need to spend money though. They need to get their salary cap at the high end of the limit since over the past 2-3 years they have been rolling cap over since they have been under. The key is Poles getting his targets and not missing this year like he did on Bates.
-
I would love to see Lovie Smith announce the Bears first pick. That would be savage. It would be even better of Houston has to trade up fearing Indy will take their QB.
-
Getting a future 1st from a bad team needing a QB means it could potentially be a slot 1-5 pick again. If so, imagine being able to trade down again in 2024 and gain more assets. That is patriot power moves
-
Or if he drops to 22-28 range, move up with some of the capital we gained from moving down I don't want to miss out on a D line playmaker.
-
Jaxon Smith Njigba is a great slot WR....just saying.
-
They didn't but did. Going off Claypools college tape and his first year, he was worth 32. He will be much improved year 2 since he will know the playbook and have some chemistry built with Fields. He potential is still more than most WRs in the 23 draft.
-
If it takes pick 33 and 92 and a 6 or 7th, why not get one of the better WRs that the QB is comfortable with.
-
Poles is not handcuffed to not trading up. We know he is trading down with pick 1. Don't be surprised if he moves up and down to get his players or Fields players. Fields said he would like JSN and I don't think it was all love talk to a former teammate.

I Never Thought I Would Be Weary Of Mock Drafts!

I can dig this. I am finding some additional 3T/DT that are listed primarily as edge players. I think that position is a little deeper if you add them. -
Let's say we kept the pick and take a WR at 32. Who would you rather have? Claypool or any WR slotted after 32. I would trade up with that pick for JSN if that is an option.
-
That is 4 recent players that didn't get another contract from the Bears. I'd like to extend all of our 1st round picks if we can and see a 4th rd WR contribute to consider extending. I am only pointing out the bad taste I have recently with Bulldogs. I would have had the same taste if the Bears drafted QB Sam Howell from North Carolina as he was at one time the top rated QB prospect. If the Bears draft Carter, I would still like it because he is the top rated DT and fills a huge need.

Justin said he can pop open any time. The guy has no flaws as a slot WR. He out performed Olave and Wilson in 2021 with more receptions and yards. He was hurt and shutdown in 2022 to prepare for the draft. It may be press live, but this was the #1 WR going into the college season until he got hurt. Justin understands the Bears need big guys up front, but he said if there is a way he falls to us he would ecstatic.

His last interview. He mentioned he hopes the Bears find a way to draft WR Jaxon Smith Njigba. They have that Burrow/Chase, Hurt/Smith, Tua/Waddle comfort level. Give him a slot WR like JSN and he will have one outlet he feels confident with. I wouldn't be surprised if we trade down and then maybe back up for him.

It has crossed my mind that one of the top players that could go to the Bears will come from the University of Georgia. Does that concern anybody else since the Bears luck with players from there have not been the greatest. I liked Roquan, but he made some odd decisions. Floyd didn't really fit or flourish in any of our schemes. Wims and Ridley couldn't get on the field and when they did they liked throwing fists. Now when I think of Jalen Carter, a flag pops up and I wonder if he will be another Georgia Bulldog disappointment. If we trade down and Anderson is gone, I am starting to lean on moving down again.

I do hope we add a couple vets like DT Payne and DE Ngakoue in FA. If Anderson was there instead of Carter, I would have taken him and then DT Mazi Smith in the early 2nd. I did dip twice for WR since the FA is not as strong. One is the speedster that compares to Will Fuller while the other is the bigger Michael Thomas type. -

PFF has shuffled player rankings. Made the Houston and Indy trades and would be pretty happy if the Bears ended up with this draft At DE, I want someone that can put pressure on the QB and has the frame to add strength. McDonald has that. Last pick, Jaren Hall reminds me of Patrick Mahomes. -
Even though the defensive front 7 needs rebuilt, they have to get the offense right first. We cannot let Fields go to waste.
-
Just think the Bears beat the Texans by Roquan Smith intercepting Mills, runs it to the 18 and we kick a FG as time expired to end the game. We were that close to owning the 1st pick without Lovie telling the the ownership what he really thought if them.
-
He supposedly impressed at the senior bowl. I can see them going DT/DE.
-
-
I want the value I get using the pff mock draft simulator. Anything less and I will now be disappointed ?
-
They also wanted him to help get the oline up to speed with Getsy's offense.
