Sometimes people want to stay with the team they are familiar with. From all accounts, Mincey was ready to sign with the Bears, when his GM talked him out of it. I didnt read any reports that the Jags offered more money. You want to say he blew it? Fine. Thats a little dramatic for me. Upping the dollars for these guys would have taken away from signing others. There was no reason to overpay on long contracts for most of the free agents out there, (maybe Williams, but that would have been our only signing).

The bottom line is that once Martz was forced to run more and more of a run based offense, the line performed better. I agree with you that all of our holes will not be fixed in one off season.

Tice may not be a worldbeater as an OC, but just the fact that the blocking schemes will change to include help when needed, plus the fact that Cutler will now be allowed to audible will make the offense better and the line better. My hope is the playcalling will now follow some sort of logic instead of lunacy.

Well said. too many people were smoking the Mario Williams pipe dream. The additions in FA plus the draft this year, not to mention the removal of a certain horrific OC, we will be a better team this year.

A good low risk- high reward guy. This tells me that we wont go WR in the 1st, that the offense will run more, and that the TE will be one of the options in the passing game(we kind of already knew the last two)
