haha I know. They FUGGed us right into the Super Bowl.

Well If we do this our offense will not be any better than last year and people on the board will be complaining that Mendenhall is a bust since he doesn't break tackles in the backfield. We need to go oline in the 1st and 2nd or 1st and 3rd. We need an OT and OG that can be in rotation now. I'm hoping we trade down and pick more picks. I hope we do not go safety and DT that high. We need a WR and a QB before the 6th and 7th rounds. I'm kind of hoping Josh Johnson.
-
umm I think he already said that Bearsox was right lol
-
Thats why I love this board.....someone is always gonna make me laugh.

I agree that we need more picks because we have a ton of needs. Plus I hate first round picks because the value is not very good. You have a good chance to get a bust and be stuck with a high contract on that bust. We know better than most McNown, Enis, Terrell, maybe Benson, etc. Furthermore, I think JA does better drafting out of the first round. I hope he trades out every year.l

To me this is exactly the same type of move that signed TJ was. An underachiever elsewhere with talent signed for cheap. TJ worked out well. Hopefully this will too.

The most logical fix is to fix the o line, then as you said, we can put anyone back there.
-
If they did that, Terra would never be able to post again

lol Its not me making the bad comparisons to the business world. So basically you make nfo's point that the success of a team takes in consideration different variables like the prior years record, expectations, injuries, draft, talent, etc. Just like the successful profit margin of a company takes into consideration different variables like expectations, previous years profit/losses, market, etc. I would even argue that if you own a company and you lose money that can be considered a success under certain circumstances. Its too complex a topic to even try to compare the two and it doesn't help your case at all. What you should compare it to is an old western gun fight. If you lose, your dead. Not something with so many different ways to interpret success and failure.
-
So by this logic a losing record is considered a failure, a .500 record break even, and a winning record a success. Or if you take the SB or bust mentallity and use it a business sense, only ONE business is successful a year....the one that makes the most money. The one that makes a DOLLAR less is a failure. lol You are making less and less sense.

Lol. Like others have said, you must be one depressed guy then. I sure hope you dont apply that to personal life or we will have to put you on suicide watch. And I hope you dont coach any youth leagues with that nonsense.

Good points, but I'm not sure if a year removed from the Super Bowl is "killing us now". We had a bad year where we had a ton of injuries. OL needs to be upgraded, absolutely, but this "we're done" mindset is crazy. Lovie and Angie (as you call him) have had the best success here since Ditka.
-
lol I was thinking the same thing too. Draft an OL 1st round, then JA seems to do well with later round defensive players
-
I think you are being a little over dramatic. We replace Moose with a better receiver in Booker. And one could argue that without Grossman throwing him bombs, Berrian is nothing more than a speed guy to run deep. Hester and Bradley can easily replace that. Plus we have two great receiving tight ends to look at. I'm not to worried about the passing game. The O-line will need a couple of pieces. Whether through the draft or free agency we need to get two pieces either of which will be better than Miller. So our line will be better, which even if we dont pick up another running back will improve us.

Great, Now 88 can calm down.

I'm not really obsessed with the o-line, I just understand that the offense lives and dies there. A great line will make average skill guys look great and great skill guys look like supermen. And a poor line will make great skill guys look average. Really the bottom line is that without a decent line, you can't make a fair assessment of anyone. Even if we get one of your running backs, they wont do anything without a line and in two years we will be sitting here listening to everyone bash Mendenhall.
-
I'll give you that he is injury prone. Unless you happen to see his workouts or visit practice alot, I'm not sure how you know about his work ethic. And you will not convince me that a running back back that had over 2000+ yrds a year in college has no work ethic. Injury prone...yes. Head case....yes. To me he is Ricky Williams minus the pot. Good but weird back. And to be honest, people were saying the same things you are out here about a Cardinals draft pick named Thomas Jones. Who needed a couple of years to get it straight. Lets fix the real problem here, the O line.

It worked for the Browns.

Any word on Bryan Johnson, Julius Jones or anybody else?

I hope we dont sign Julius. He is Ced Bensen minus a gear. -
I love the fact that you seriously used Mariotti to back up a point. mwaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Totally agree with you here. I have been shouting this all year. Some people will never get it though. The funny thing is that when Bensen first started getting playing time towards the end of the year behind TJ, he looked great. Provided a great burst and downhill running style. And people were actually calling for him over TJ. Then he hurt his knee. But that was when the line was better and younger. If we dont get an OL in place, you can bring in Mendenhall, Flacco, Hardy or whatever other savior is out there and in two years they will be the next Bensen and Grossman.

So true.....

Come on now. You don't hate being Johnny Raincloud, you revel in it. That Super Bowl season must have killed you. lol
