  1. Right, but how many people do you know that act like assess when they are drunk. When you are drunk you do things you wouldn't normally do. I dont think you cut him for this. Especially if it costs us money. He will just go to jail and watch as his spot is taken. Dude, Briggs left the scene of an accident after he bashed his car into a pole while drunk. Not exactly manning up to your mistake there.
  2. I like Hass too, but there is no way you can predict if he will be a stud or not. Hell I think if he was such a stud he would have forced them to play him by now. There have been plenty of productive college players who can't hack it in the pros.
  3. lol Well I guess Briggs doesn't either going by that criteria. And 70% of Bears fans for that matter. The funny thing is the moment I heard this I thought that he got drunk cause Forte was tearing it up in minicamp and he was depressed that his job was gone. Like Ron Burgandy in Anchorman. "Milk was a bad choice"
  4. Yeah but most of Orton's "managing" was due to conservative play calling. I like Orton but honestly he hasn't shown much. And I was concerned that he showed less accuracy than Rex. I mean he has been in the league for three years and he bounces balls to receivers.
  5. The guy lost credibility for me when he said his favorite back was Tashard Choice. He reasoning for saying we were losers was that we didn't get value for our picks. The only reach was the second rounder in Forte. The rest were value picks.
  6. Great quote there. Bears fans are some of the most impatient fans there are.
  7. Yeah but that was his first full year starting due to injury, he is on a team with a good record. You dont bench him, you let him work through it. Which he did looking at his ratings for the next three games. Then he lays an egg the last game of the year and has two solid game in the playoffs en route to the Super Bowl. I'm not saying that he is All Pro, but to blame all the bad stuff from 2006 on him and not give him props for when he did well is incredibly short sighted. At the very least, he deserves a shot to compete.
  8. lol I remember that. I think I said I was surprised that he didn't blame Orton for old times sake.
  9. lol Oooooooooo I got a wooden spoon lol
  10. I'll never get why some people will not give Rex his due. 2 seasons ago he threw 23 TD and for 3100 yds. He had two good playoff games. That is why he gets a shot. He had some terrible games that year but he also had terrific games too. At worst he is wildly inconsistent and injury prone. At best he is the player of the month. And no quarterback last year was set up for success. Not with that line and running game. I do agree with you on Orton though. His first year was a joke. He was totally handcuffed by the OC and thrown under the bus by Moose (I never forgave Moose for that). But looking at the games he played in last year he didn't show too much. I was surprised by his innaccurate throws that bounced off the turf. I am looking forward to the battle. Hopefully the improved line and Forte will help both be better.
  11. I know...lol. I just couldn't help it. Mirer was such garbage.
  12. Great points. I wonder if Rothlesberger would have done as well if he wouldn't have slipped down to Pittsburg who already had a great running attack and defense.
  13. I agree with the point that we should not get our hopes up, but I am looking optimisticly at the situation. The more research I do on those guys the better I feel. I do wonder how different the reaction to our draft would have been if we take one of the qb's with our 5th rnd pick. What's your take nfo? Would people have graded us better and taken Hill or HAnie more seriously?
  14. lol Yeah but I'm wary of trading for another ND qb.
  15. lol Actually that article is really complementary of the Bears draft and the outlook of the team. Compares Monk to Colston. Guess I missed the part where it said Davis wont make the team and is a wasted pick. Here is a brighter outlook on Davis: davis
  16. I think something that also could have played into JA is that I read here that he brought both of those guys in for a visit. He must have liked them when they met and was betting that noone would take them. The crappy QB situation we have here actually helped get those guys signed because from their perspective they have a better shot at making the team and/or playing. So we get a couple of guys who could have mid round ratings for money without wasting picks on them. I'm really interested to see these guys play in pre-season.
  17. lol It looks real good from where I am sitting!!!
  18. lol I thought it was the D. Manning lol
  19. lol Thanks for the personal attack, bro. I'm not sure you have any business calling anybody a tool. Didn't say Angelo can't do any wrong. I just dont do the whole its all doom and gloom crap. And we have had the whole getting to the superbowl and not winning doesn't mean crap argument. Buuuuuut it does mean that you were the best team in the NFC. So again I think its really short sighted to absolutely rip everything Angelo has done. Has he made some mistakes??? Absolutely. What GM hasn't? But to give that draft a D+ and say he has taken the franchise to ruin, while within his rights, is pretty ridiculous. Again this goes back to my theory that the Bears simply have some fans who just love it when something bad happens so they can be proven right. Their own life sucks so bad that they take pleasure in every injury, negative action and loss, just to say "I told you so....the coach/GM/QB/RB/DC/OC/whoever is worthless". You dont hear a peep when the BEars are winning, but as soon as something bad happens there they are. It must suck to that pissed off all the time.
  20. I hear ya. What a jerk!!! Got us back to the super bowl for the first time in 20 years. I hope he gets fired so we can go back to top four picks. I miss those days. Seriously though, you should check out Ashkum's post. It will make you feel better.
  21. Good read Ashkum. Thank you for some rational and logical thought.
  22. haha I thought the same thing. In fact the first thing I thought was that he is going to be pissed when he gets to a team whose pulling linemen dont hit shit. We need to hire Tulane's line coach. lol
  23. Thanks for the advice. I would argue that two years ago Rex was a decent qb. Good numbers. More TD's than INTS and a super bowl run. But I dont really want that discussion opened again cause we have beat it to death on here. And if you took a closer look at Turner system, he has always used the pass to set up the run even back when Kramer was qb. So I dont give a crap who says "we are a running team" , we pass to set up the run. Hence the pure LT taken. And if it is his god given right to give his opinion, its my god given right to give mine back. I dont like the doomsday crap without some rational thought process and, as you made clear, its my god given right to express that. Madlith is a great example of someone who wasn't pleased with the draft, but can express his thoughts in a rational manner. I have a lot of respect for him because of that. But posts that say," JA SUCKS AGAIN" or "WHAAA WHAA WHAA" while within rights really add nothing. And I apologize if I make you feel bad. That is certainly not my intention. "some things are better left unsaid" I like that. Take your own advice. I'm sure 88 doesn't need you to help him out on the message boards. And I'm done responding to this on posts. Im sure the regulars dont need posts clogged up with this trash. You and 88 can PM me if you want....just make sure you have it set to get responses.
  24. So why dont you go root for them. I'm sure they would love to have you.
  25. I always love the armchair guys that say they can do it better. I always wonder why they dont get a job coaching or being an assistant gm somewhere.
