  1. Don't waste your time, dude. I mean, to me it's obvious you can't send out 5 receivers when your QB is getting hit by the snap and the guy lined up across from Webb at almost the same time. Hell, even Webb admitted he sucked! But he's got his biggest apologist on the internet right here on our site. We all hope Webb's grown and improves a lot. We'll see. But to say Forte didn't help the line by being a force in the passing game is just asinine. Give him and Cutler a few seconds to produce and then let's talk.
  2. I think you got this one reversed. Forte has averaged over 50 catches a year in his career and if he wasn't a threat last year just because that number dropped a little it was because the line, and your boy Webb, sucked so back they had to keep extra protection back there most of the time. If you have a line worth a damn you can get your RB's out of the backfield.
  3. At least he's got a great name.
  4. I guess what I'm saying is that even if you're right and the talent pool is better than last year, it still takes time to learn the system, get used to new teammates, etc.
  5. Unfortunately I think them being in the first year of a new scheme is going to mean they'll be out of position a lot, particularly early in the season. I don't think it's going out on a limb to say this defense will be worse than last years. I hope I'm wrong.
  6. According to The Onion the Pats are going to use him as their long snapper. LOL! PS. The Onion is a satire site.
  7. Don't know on either, to be honest. I have no idea what our new offense requires until I see it on the field. Do we need a FB? Do they think they can get something outta Tavaris that other teams have failed thus far to get, just because our HC is a QB guy? Hell if I know...
  8. I'm actually with you on this one Jason. It's not like we're deep with known commodities on the O line at this point. A 6th round pick? I know how it feels when you're in the position of having to clean up someone else's messes, I've been doing it far too often recently in my life. This just feels hasty given everything we already know about the line. I sure hope they're seeing something out there that made them comfortable with this.
  9. LOL. Like I said, take a Midol.
  10. Terry Shea at OC didn't help either! What a horrible bunch.
  11. I won't deny my surly nature. With that said, I've never once got in a pissing match about what position a guy plays. That's like arguing about whether dirt is brown or black. Idiotic. And I even tried to chill things by posting the Ali clip. On and on they went. Get a damn room!
  12. God damn you've become a pain in the ass. Almost of Terra proportions. Take a Midol and STFU.
  13. Nobody said there weren't going to be repercussions. He'll have court costs, a large fine, may be suspended by the league and he could still lose his job. Those are the same very real repercussions any one of us would face in the same circumstances. I'm only arguing that he shouldn't be treated differently than the rest of us. And we can't just cut everyone who ever ran afoul of the law. Want to cut Briggs too? In the case of comparing this to OJ, we saw a trial and all the evidence and it was pretty clear to me that he was guilty but the jury was essentially tricked into acquitting him. Rodriguez wasn't even charge much less brought to court. It isn't even the same ballpark. Look, I don't want scumbags on the Bears either. And if this guy is one of those I'll be 100% for cutting his ass ASAP. I just haven't seen enough yet to be his judge, jury and executioner. But more power to you...
  14. Couldn't agree more with you about his draft. At this point it's too early to tell and I hope they all develop but it ain't looking too good right now. As for being arrested that first time, the charges were dropped and he was fully exonerated. I don't care if you like it or not but he's innocent until proven otherwise.
  15. His momma named him Clay, I'm going to call him Clay...
  16. Don't cut anybody. Just play 10 DT's and have Peanut play rover behind them picking off anything that gets by. Call it the Jumbo Defense.
  17. We'll need to see where Rodriquez ends up in camp. A DUI could mean the Bears would need to carry him on the roster through any potential suspension and that might be enough to get him cut. But all the "sky is falling" crap over a DUI is ridiculous. I know, he has a history... And he may just be an idiot who needs to be cut. But that stuff last year was dropped and the kid made a mistake this year. One I'd venture to guess most posters here have made and gotten away with. I know I've driven when I shouldn't have. Got lucky. I'm 48 now and don't make idiot moves like that anymore but when I was in my 20's I did. So give it a break. The Bears will do what's best for the Bears on this guy and that's good enough for me. PS. I'm not condoning what he did so if you're going to jump up and down about drunk driving, I get it. But he should get the same punishment as anyone else would out there and that means, to me, the fine he's going to pay to society. I know if I made the same mistake I wouldn't expect my company to fire me for it. PSS. No, I don't want Tebow on the Bears at any position under any circumstances.

Exactly. It's a rah rah fluff piece, not meant to be journalism. He answers the "What's your favorite stadium for hot dogs?" type questions because that's what he's being paid to do. Fact is most journalism these days ain't what it used to be.
  19. I think he did the right thing. Now the Bears need to take him into the fold and give him some ongoing role.
  20. I think he and his agent expected a prolonged negotiation with them dragging the Bears through the mud in the press. What they got was a quick adios. New, unpredictable front office made this effort tough on Brian's agent. Not that I care, the Bears appear to have done the right thing.
  21. I agree but I also seem to recall Urlacher playing some ST in his rookie year. Seems to be "what's done" in the NFL with rookie LB's with speed.
  22. Yep. With that said, it seems like the new staff would get a better idea of what they have in him if he showed up. Therefore I assume it's more about his rehab efforts and being ready for camp than anything else. I still think he'll be on the team but whether that's as a starter or a backup, I have no idea. He played all of last season hurt so I'd assume the team isn't just going to throw him to the wolves without giving him every chance to get healthy.
