This is a costly move. It may pan out but isn’t the D tackle they gave up their best one? Cap nightmare and an injury prone player…. I hope this blows up and wrecks them for years to come.

I like the kid. Glad he's a Bear for a few more years!

Well put. Thanks.

I had a moron friend over last night who said "What was that!" when he grounded that ball. And my comment was, that was maturity and good coaching. He did exactly what he should've done in that situation. Given how well Bagent has played, is Case Keenum going to make the team? Also, I need to know from the cap gurus here, how much goes back into the coffers when and if they cut him? I understand he'd there to be a mentor but I want the two best QB's on the active roster every Sunday and the third on as the emergency guy. I'm not sure Case is the second best QB on this team and I'm also not sure if he'll want to be inactive.

I was concerned that Caleb not playing in week one was a sign that he was behind schedule. I saw no evidence of that yesterday. The D was solid but special teams wasn’t. All three phases need to be there to maximize wins.

Preseason Week 2 Game Thread - Bills at Bears, Fox, SUN, 8-17, 7pm Central

Welp, I’m jacked! -
I want to be realistic, but I’m still optimistic that there’s a lot of W’s on this schedule. I see a potentially slow start, but once things start to gel, the team will sneak up on some people and ultimately prove out what we all hope we’ve seen in the off-season. I think this is a playoff team.

They have the Bears at 21 so still bottom third. I hope we surprise a lot of people this year.

Nothing final. Between him and Chubb who would you prefer? I doubt either will break the bank. Not sure we need either but depth at the position will keep everyone fresher throughout the season.
-
I agree. Still can't approve of using our 4th round pick the way we did, though.

Caleb texted Loveland this just after the pick: “Congrats, I'm excited to get you here, I'm going to be tough on you, coach Johnson's going to be tough on you, but [you're a] heck of a player, excited to get things rolling," Loveland said. "Just let me know if you need anything, I'm here, just excited to get you here and meet face-to-face and get the ball rolling.'" I like the leadership!

I am interested in where Skattebo goes and who takes him. Probably a few hours into today if I has to guess.

I’d like to get Henderson with a 2nd round pick to work off those two TE sets from the backfield. With two excellent WRs on the outside this set with two fresh RBs at all times will cause huge matchup problems for defenses.

I watched him all season. He's a stud. Not worth #10 no matter how you slice it. Perhaps trading back was explored and nothing materialized. Fact is the first 9 picks were basically CHALK and Poles had to know the board was going to look like this when we were on the clock. He either wasn’t prepared or he got the piece we needed for the new offense. Seems like the Bears dump a fan favorite TE each time we get a new HC. Again, I loved his play for the Wolverines but still a head scratcher at 10.

Meh is right. I loved watching him play at Michigan but he is NOT worthy of the #10 pick. Disappointed

I’m worried it’s going to be Warren. Fine player but don’t want a TE that early. Particularly with Kmet on the squad already.
