  1. So much for having a home game next week if we get there. The 49ers are getting kicked in the balls tonight.
  2. It’s no secret that a lot of this can be solved with some edge rushers who can actually do more than smell the QB once in a while. Free agency and draft that’s my focus.
  3. I think we need to move Caleb out of the pocket for longer developing plays and otherwise it’s quick slants to TE’s and screens. I’m reading that LA’s secondary is dogshit but the D line masks that deficiency. ST and the running game in this weather should balance the attack and provide good field position. This game is on the offense because our D isn’t going to hold LA down. I’m hoping the weather does a little of that for us. But both teams are playing in the weather so it’s all about who handles it better.
  4. Your post made me think of this for some reason. That pass to Moore to win the game was picture perfect. In rhythm, pump fake and WHAM. But then the more impressive pass on fourth and 8 was vintage Mahomes. Maybe better than Mahomes!?! So we have this gunslinger mentality like Favre but who doesn't throw nearly the number of picks Favre did while also having the Mahomes uncanny stuff too like having the wheels to run for first downs when we need that to keep moving. By the way, did anyone else notice that in that fourth quarter he dove forward for the first down? Like his whole mentality of self-preservation changes when the game is on the line. I'm just so impressed with the kid. And if Green Bay hit that last pass and found a way to beat us in the end, I'd still be saying the same things about Caleb. As a 61 year old Bears fan, I honestly have nothing else to compare this experience to.
  5. OK thanks. I think the game I'm thinking of was his last as a Viking's QB. That was a cold night with the Vikings playing outdoors for some reason.
  6. They’ll both miraculously get better if we EVER get a pass rush.
  7. Probably. Game 1 is at home if we win the division anyway but you’re right about the games after that.
  8. Wright has had great moments and some blown coverages too. On balance he’s been good enough to make the list here though. OZ has been more bad than good IMO and we can do better than him next year.
  9. This is amazing for year one under BJ. That said I hope we make the best of it. One and done after this season would leave a bad taste in our mouths but might be OK for future development. We have a chance to be really healthy by that first playoff game and it might be interesting to see how well this team can play at close to 100%. Out pass rush is still dogshit so that will likely be our achilles heel when we go up against the best teams. If the Packers lose on Saturday our division championship is locked in. It would be interesting to see if Ben plays at least part of the SF game with backups. The only thing that matters now is being the best team we can be in “Week 18” no matter who our opponent is. There’s an outside chance we could get the #1 seed but I don’t expect that. Any thoughts?
  10. I wish people could just move on from the stupid shit they’ve said in the past and just admit it was stupid. Hell I’ve said sooo many stupid things in the heat of an argument about this team. It happens. Been pouring my heart and soul into loving them for more than 50 years. Anyone who doesn’t see Caleb’s massive potential is being willfully ignorant.
  11. I agree 100%. As good as 6-3 feels and the fact that Caleb has been the catalyst, we’ve beaten some lousy teams. With the way the D and ST are playing it wouldn’t surprise me if we go 0-4 over the next four weeks. If we go 2-2 over those games the playoffs are within reach.
  12. I agree! I keep telling myself it’s a good thing because I actually have expectations this year.

  14. This is a costly move. It may pan out but isn’t the D tackle they gave up their best one? Cap nightmare and an injury prone player…. I hope this blows up and wrecks them for years to come.
  15. I know it’s a meaningless preseason game but I just think the team is one I expect to win compared to when Flus was here. I expected him to mess up, I expect BJ to make the right decisions to get the W. Haven’t felt this way in a long time. The guys were prepared for that last drive. Nice to see.
  16. I like the kid. Glad he's a Bear for a few more years!
