  1. I like how he called McCain out for this just like I did! Although, with a bit more class... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/08/o...a_n_133132.html 26 days of this BS left.
  2. Oddly, I wasn't disappointed in his performance at all.
  3. Second verse... same as the first! A little bit louder and a little bit worse! (for McCain) I thought McCain would be a man and have the balls to bring up some of the shit he's been saying about Obama on the trail. Face to face. But no, instead Gramps stuck with his whole "tax and spend" talk while hiding behind Sarah's skirts. Pathetic. Apparently the American People felt the same way.
  4. I believe this is the best strategy as well. If McCain goes "Rev. Wright" on Obama, Obama's response should be "John, have you taken a look at the DOW recently? It's down 20% in the last 30 days. Oh, and nearly a million people have lost their jobs in 2008. We're here with a real opportunity to discuss the issues that matter to people and you want to talk about things that were vetted during the primary process. I've had enough with the kitchen sink, let's talk kitchen table." And then he should discuss things that matter. Basically leaving McCain looking like an embarrassed, shallow, angry old man.
  5. While true, it's fair play, I think it's counterproductive. Obama needs to run a campaign that fosters his ability to lead and bring the country together when it's all done. So, I think it's fair to bring up Keating since the financial markets are in turmoil but I don't think dirty pool about his military record is OK. My point in my initial post here was to show how ugly this could get if we go down that path. McCain got this treatment from Bush and Rove in 2000. The roadmap is already out there and thus far Obama and his team have stayed off that road. I hope it stays that way. But really, McCain and his camp, and his followers like Ashkum, hold the keys to how deep into the shitter this goes. With McCain desperate at this point, I understand the whole "kitchen sink" attack. I really do. But I also hope his position in the polls continues to sink as he goes this route. It'll show him that the best plan was his original, which was to continue to run an honorable campaign. I could provide links to him saying just that on video. I could show you video of him saying Rev. Wright was off limits and that Obama didn't ascribe to his crazier side. That stuff exists and that McCain was a man I respected. I think a lot of moderates and independents will run away from him as he keeps up this BS. But I've been wrong before.
  6. Maybe his immature antics costs the US Navy over 100 lives on that fateful day? Do I believe it? I don't know... But it's a question I want answered. Right Ashkum? "I want the truth!" "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!" Lot's of things out there to wonder about with these candidates. Seems bringing up the whole "Obama is a Muslim" thing at this point might open a can of worms for McCain. If they can ask questions, is it OK for us to do the same? Can we ask about the Forrestal? The Keating 5? His graduating at the bottom of his class at Annapolis? His being shot down while flying below his ordered altitude? His crashing of 3 other jets but still being a pilot afterwards while his dad was an Admiral? Does it sound like a cover-up or special treatment? I hate all of this crap. I'd like to believe the best about John McCain and Barack Obama and I'd like to vote for them based on the merits of what they propose for our country. In the future! I post this thread in response to Ashkum to provide an example of how this crap gets thrown out there on the internet all the time. People choose to believe the ones that justify their decisions and ignore others. I have no clue if McCain was what some of the conspiracy theorists out there claim. I choose to ignore it all but for this little experiment. I hope the point has been made.
  7. Amen to that, Connor. By the way, I won't bother responding to the long baseless Ashkum response above. When someone says "here's the proof whether it's true or not" I don't see a need to continue to try to convince them of anything. It's important to note, however, that Obama's position on partial birth abortion is significantly different than was suggested by Ashkum. Quoting World Net Daily... LOL! What a country.
  8. I couldn't disagree more. First, the actual facts: (11:34) (Shotgun) 18-K.Orton pass incomplete deep left to 86-M.Booker. PENALTY on DET-21-T.Fisher, Defensive Pass Interference, 24 yards, enforced at DET 31. Chicago challenged the pass completion ruling, and the play was REVERSED. (Shotgun) 18-K.Orton pass deep left to 86-M.Booker to DET 1 for 30 yards (21-T.Fisher). Penalty on DET-21-T.Fisher, Defensive Pass Interference, declined. OK, so here we have it. The play in question was originally a 24 yard penalty and the play after reversal was a 30 yard gain. This means the difference was 6 yards. The corrected play puts the Bears at the ONE yard line rather than the SEVEN. In my mind, there's a HUGE difference in those two locations on the field. And we've been struggling to close out games! Also, why save the challenge? We're already in the second half, leading. Even at 50/50 as you say above (which I don't concede) I'd say the play should've been reviewed. But that wasn't really my point. My point was how idiotic the announcers sounded continually getting the facts wrong about the reasons for the challenge. They kept saying Lovie was "standing by his guys" and "trying to pad their stats" when the real reason was clearly field position. Your odds of getting in from the 1 and the 7 are significantly different. A professional like Lovie knows that. The knuckleheads in the booth should've at least acknowledged the facts I just stated above even if they disagreed with the decision. And one last thing... As to their being "experts" on this site: I don't think there are either. Everyone here is just stating their opinion. But there are a few who have claimed they could be better than JA at GM. That means they're claiming to be experts. I've always call bullshit on that and I'm glad you agree.
  9. "Are you better off today than you were 8 years ago?" If so, congrats. If, however, you're in the 99.999% who aren't... Join the club!
  10. Has Randy done anything "toolish" this season? I've always hated him so I hope the answer is yes but if it is, I'm not aware of it. I just think he's in a position where he's not a great match for the QB talent they currently have in NE. Although, he had a big grab this week. Years ago I used to argue with a guy on the internet (hard to believe, I know) about how the Bears were smart to have let Randy slip past them. My point was always that even if he was great, he wasn't really a good fit for the Bears because we didn't have the QB talent to use him anyway. And his character was always suspect. Well, his greatness is undeniable now but I still think he'd have been "Bobby Wade" if the Bears had taken him. Nobody will ever know for sure.
  11. You're a complete fool. All of this is bullshit. Read HERE is you care one bit about the truth. If not, which is what I'd expect from a typical Republican ass-clown... Have a nice day. If you have any self respect, you'll admit you made a big mistake posting this shit. The link is provided for anyone who wants to know how absolutely stupid this crap is. More lies and smear are refuted HERE as well.
  12. * Orton looked solid and seems to be showing growth. Nice to see after we watched Grossman regress. Let's hope this continues. * My condolences to the "internet football experts" on the site. I know how much happier you all are when the Bears lose. * Atlanta and Minneapolis next. It makes tonight's game all that much more interesting. Both are games the Bears can win but we're going on the road to Atlanta. * Peanut has made amends for his brain-fart that cost us a game. Way to man up, Nut! * Booker's catch was one for the highlight films. Outstanding. And I have to admit, I wasn't a fan of bringing him back. Glad the Bears GM and coaching staff are smarter than me. It looks like he can still "git 'er done." * Who else was pissed off about that Hester fumble? He cost me a bunch of points in fantasy not to mention costing the Bears D a much-deserved shutout. His play at WR has been improving but his bread and butter is the return game. He seems timid. Anyone else seeing this? Although, I have to admit, his athletic ability, to be able to stop on a dime and reverse field on the TD pass, was amazing. Nobody could keep up with him there. That play is unstoppable. * OK, who else thought they wanted to jump through the TV screen and strangle the announcers yesterday? There were about a dozen times they said something stupid but the best example was on the challenge flag Lovie threw. They kept claiming it would be Bears ball at the 2 anyway and that Lovie was just protecting his players stats. Dumb fuc*s! It was clear the interference call would've given the Bears the ball at the 7, not the 2! And that's a huge difference, particularly for a team that needs to learn to go for the jugular! * Roy Williams is a huge friggen tool. It always stuns me, even after all the times I've seen it, how selfish some of these guys can be. Is there something in the DNA of a typical NFL WR that makes them this way? TO's remarks yesterday after his team won are another example. I just don't get it. * And no, I don't want Roy Williams on this team, to answer the question in another thread. I know the guy has talent and can really make plays... But I don't want the cancer. I don't want the selfish play. I don't want to see drops out of a guy who supposedly is "Mr. Perfect" in his own mind. Did anyone else notice how when the ball wasn't perfectly thrown he ranted and raved on the sidelines, hammering his own QB? But then when he was hit in the hands and just outright dropped it, he acted like nothing had happened? I mean, TOOLBOX! Be consistent at least! If you're going to demand perfection from others, be a perfectionist! Hypocrite! * Good to see we can play in the daylight. * I'm starting to get the feeling that there are a lot of god-awful football teams in the NFL this year. Seriously, who scares you? Maybe, with a little luck, we can be the tallest midget this season. Who knows. I'm not predicting Superbowl but damn if I see a team out there I think we can't beat. Let's stay healthy, keep "stacking wins" and see where this leads. If Orton continues to progress and this wasn't just about playing the shitty Lions, maybe we've got something here. * Oh, and that quick slant to Des Clark at the goal line needs to be removed from the playbook. It almost got picked again this week.
  13. I saw it the same way you did, it was a draw only in the fact that she didn't crash and burn. The script she had memorized kept her safe. Biden was clearly more knowledgeable on every subject covered and this morning the story is that Palin was flat out wrong on their ticket's position on bankruptcy protection. http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/20...-misstates.html So, she got the name of the General wrong, was wrong on bankruptcy and used canned and tired "white flag" and homey "golly gee" talk to get through this without a massive face-plant. Congrats are in order, I suppose. She's the best and brightest the Repugs have to offer. LOL! The polls after the debate gave it to Biden 46/21 or 51/36 depending on whether you like CBS or CNN. The CBS poll was of undecided voters so that one suggests even more moderates will migrate away from Johnny Square Jaw. Amen! The country may just be growing up!
  14. Again, not the point... I'm not talking about our 2-2 record so much as the undeniable fact that the team was built for success. Probably even better success than our current 2-2 record. Do you disagree? If not, STFU. See, Jerry knew we were one injury impacted season with a inconsistent QB away from being in the Superbowl. He realized we didn't need to wet ourselves and go into complete rebuilding mode. Unlike some of the wannabee GM's who grace us with their presence here. How many pairs of panties do you go through in a day, anyway?
  15. Now here's a man of action! I probably could use a good ass-kicking.
  16. "John, good luck back in the Senate. You'll have lot's of opportunity to work across the aisle."
  17. Don't let NFO bother you. He's dumb as a fire hydrant.
  18. No, I wasn't. I called out Olsen and Turner. Period. And later admitted I was wrong on Turner when I found out it was Orton who changed the play that killed us. The rest of this site could stand a bit of manning up. Most of the ladies here go into hiding when their hissy fits come back to haunt them.
  19. Dummy. This isn't about his draft although I think many GM's would probably happy with the results JA's put up not only this year but for a career. This is about how you and a bunch of other whiny little pussies made it out like we were walking into a buzzsaw to start the season being led by a blind man. Well, let me just say... YOU WERE WRONG! This team WAS built to win and it isn't JA's fault we have two losses right now. Blame that on errors made by the players (a certain TE comes to mind) and somewhat on coaching. We've got to be able to make a key first down! That isn't on the GM. Get it now? Go back to your knitting.
  20. Sorry, not the point. All the women here were up in arms about this team and Jerry was calmly moving forward. His team, the group of guys on the field today, should be 4-0 and they didn't lose a single game because of anything Jerry did or didn't do. I'm not drinking kool-aid or even pretending we're on our way to greatness. But I can say without trouble that the team put on the field on day one this season was built to compete and win. And in 4 of the toughest games on the schedule! That's all you can ask for at this stage of the season and it means our GM did his ferkin' job. Now all the internet football "experts" here can continue to do their "job" and whine and bitch and cry. That doesn't change the facts.
  21. So, we're 2-2 and with a little better luck could easily be 4-0. Certainly the two games we've lost haven't been due to the play of the offensive line. Or anything else Jerry Angelo could've done, for that matter. Philly put pressure on Kyle this week but it wasn't anything close to what they'd done the week before. We've generally run the ball well, also. And now we sit at the top of our division after playing 4 of our toughest opponents already and... We're a few weeks away from Chris Williams returning. Oh, how the internet fans cried. "We're doomed!" "Jerry screwed the pooch!" Meanwhile, the bendwagon is getting more crowded these days. If only you girls could learn to keep your panties dry and trust the folks who brought us to the Superbowl.
  22. I called it a draw myself but this morning I see focus groups and polls of uncommitted voters went strong for Obama. Particularly women.
