Dummy. This isn't about his draft although I think many GM's would probably happy with the results JA's put up not only this year but for a career. This is about how you and a bunch of other whiny little pussies made it out like we were walking into a buzzsaw to start the season being led by a blind man. Well, let me just say... YOU WERE WRONG! This team WAS built to win and it isn't JA's fault we have two losses right now. Blame that on errors made by the players (a certain TE comes to mind) and somewhat on coaching. We've got to be able to make a key first down! That isn't on the GM. Get it now? Go back to your knitting.

Sorry, not the point. All the women here were up in arms about this team and Jerry was calmly moving forward. His team, the group of guys on the field today, should be 4-0 and they didn't lose a single game because of anything Jerry did or didn't do. I'm not drinking kool-aid or even pretending we're on our way to greatness. But I can say without trouble that the team put on the field on day one this season was built to compete and win. And in 4 of the toughest games on the schedule! That's all you can ask for at this stage of the season and it means our GM did his ferkin' job. Now all the internet football "experts" here can continue to do their "job" and whine and bitch and cry. That doesn't change the facts.

So, we're 2-2 and with a little better luck could easily be 4-0. Certainly the two games we've lost haven't been due to the play of the offensive line. Or anything else Jerry Angelo could've done, for that matter. Philly put pressure on Kyle this week but it wasn't anything close to what they'd done the week before. We've generally run the ball well, also. And now we sit at the top of our division after playing 4 of our toughest opponents already and... We're a few weeks away from Chris Williams returning. Oh, how the internet fans cried. "We're doomed!" "Jerry screwed the pooch!" Meanwhile, the bendwagon is getting more crowded these days. If only you girls could learn to keep your panties dry and trust the folks who brought us to the Superbowl.

I called it a draw myself but this morning I see focus groups and polls of uncommitted voters went strong for Obama. Particularly women.

Precisely. If the Dems had the Presidency and the exact same record over the last 8 years, junior here would be mocking the very idea any Democrat could even run in this election. You can debate whether Bush lied us into war although I'm confident he did. The Niger Uranium deal and the outing of a CIA operative as retaliation proves it to me. His most notable accoplishments, in my opinion, have been to assist deregulation which have now led to two massive failures in banking. I agree with these comments. I'd add that despite Hester being hurt, the ST's have been very good.

A few more global thoughts... 1. There are serious conflicts within the groups that make up the modern Republican Party and nobody really seeming to notice or care. I think a lot of Republicans, if they really thought about it, would admit this isn't their daddy's Republican Party anymore. In fact, if they weren't so stubborn, they might actually see that the "other guys" actually represent them better these days. 2. One party is clearly more likely to foster new technologies leading to new types of jobs. We aren't really talking about the jobs that are leaving, although I believe that can be slowed by tax policy that doesn't favor companies that export jobs. Let's face it, if we don't make a few changes, there won't be many left in this country who can afford to buy the few products we still make here. The middle class is shrinking. 3. If Republicans had all the answers, why aren't things better? Nobody will ever convince me I'm better off now than I was 8 years ago. The average American simply isn't. If McCain is different than Bush, on the important issues, why'd he hold W's hand for the last few years? More importantly, I recall having serious reservations about Bush 8 years ago. And I was told by all my Republican friends, "Trust us. It'll be OK." Now they're all distancing themselves from the guy they voted for twice. Meanwhile I recall Carter getting mocked for "socialized medicine" when I was in my formative years. The state of health care in this country has been eroding since. I have medical insurance, good medical insurance, and medical problems my family had last year could've ruined us. They don't pay! I recall Al Gore being mocked for his stance on the environment. These days, he's seen differently by all but a fringe group and his forecasts in the 80's are starting to prove out in unmistakable ways. Your side claimed Reagan won the cold war but failed to credit Carter for beginning the M1 Abrahams Tank, the B1 Bomber, the MX missile system and getting Pershing II missiles in Europe. Not to mention Kennedy having the backbone to take us to the brink of nuclear war, Truman fighting the first hot battle of the cold war era and Roosevelt leading us through WWII when the cold war was already really raging... Just check the history books and Patton's take on things. I guess you'll have to excuse me if after all this and after how wrong the people who've mocked me for the things I've believed in over the years have been, if I refuse to take them at their word this time around. 4. I think if you honestly look at these two men and put away any pre-conceived notions about what a Democrat/Republican are, and judge them solely on what they bring to the table at this point in our history, I think you'd admit Obama is a better fit. We need more than ever someone who can interact with Europe and our allies in respectful and cooperative ways. We need fresh ideas. We need to flush out the cronies in so many parts of the current administration and put folks in there with real credentials and real energy to do the job they've been given. Even if McCain is "different" many of the same people will stay in place. We need intelligence. I think most would admit to being a little frightened or embarrassed by some of the things McCain has said and done recently. His age, as much as I'd like to not be ageist, is an issue. It just is. We need someone in there who does understand the economy and who brought someone on his ticket who'll be a real help to him as President rather than someone who brought someone on for political reasons alone. Romney was a far better choice, or even Bloomberg. We need people who believe in and support science in positions of power these days. Creationism has a place in our churches, not in our courtrooms or classrooms. I could go on and on. I really think it's time to "get serious" and forget the whole Red/Blue America bullshit. If you've voted Republican your whole life just because it's what you do, I'll ask you to think outside the box this time for the benefit of the entire country... The entire world.

You're a typical Republican apologist. Obama has plenty of accomplishment in the last twenty years and significant accomplishment in the senate even though his time there has been short. If you care to educate yourself the facts are available at his web site. But you won't do that because you're already satisfied. Your life hasn't been screwed up by this President and his party. He's lost. He's old. He has NO ideas. We can't wait around for another 4 years as this country fails further into the chaos your team has created. Nothing is better off than it was 8 years ago. NOT ONE THING. And I haven't even talked about the war yet. How many trillions should we spend on a mistake? Should this country continue to pay for YOUR error in judgment, sending a moron to the Presidency in the first place? Should I have to throw my son into the meat grinder for this Commander in Chief because you want a few extra dollars in your pocket? (Borrowed money, I might add.) Everyone who voted for Bush the first time made a mistake. Everyone who voted for Bush the second time is a Judas. Your few extra dollars is BLOOD MONEY. There are more than 4,000 of our finest dead now because you needed a tax cut. You sold this country down the river. You KNEW damn well what this man offered and you voted for him anyway. Gotta laugh. I mean, you guys know I defended Rex when he was "the guy" but he didn't win the job this summer. He just didn't. And Kyle, while no stud, hasn't lost us a game yet. He hasn't won us one either but I'm not sure Rex ever did that. The choice has been made. Let's live with it until Kyle proves he can't do the job. This one, while Kyle shares some of the blame, can't really be hung on him. Neither can last week. He did the job we needed to be done to be 3-0 right now. With Rex, maybe we're 3-0 and maybe we're 0-3. That's the PROBLEM. Hell, Indy might have rushed him into 5 brainfart picks for all I know. So, let's focus on the real reasons for the loss and not always pick on the QB. I basically said the same thing when I was defending Rex. But Rex became somewhat indefensible after a while. He didn't grow, he continued to spiral. My post here, adding the couple of intelligent responses above, zero's in on what went wrong. If we can fix those things, we can win a few football games. Although, I'm concerned our guys on D are just getting old and can't make it a full 60 minutes anymore. And that's scary.

Frustrating. For the second week in a row we've turned victory into defeat. This one was worse because you can't pin it specifically on one guy fumbling away his only two catches. This game came down to a few things: * Bad play calling and/or execution. We can't seem to gain those few yards we need on third down to extend our offensive series. Leaving just enough time on the clock for Griese to lead them down for the tying score. * Bad luck. There were a few opportunities we had on tipped balls where we were inches from making yet another pick. Either of these could've ended it right there, on the spot. * Stupidity combined with poor officiating. OK, Peanut hosed up. Sure. He's a moron on that one. You CAN'T let that happen. But someone please explain to me how this is any different than what happened last week to the Chargers. There were CLEARLY offsetting penalties on this play but they only called the Bears. Fine, Peanut deserves to get his ass kicked but damn if some official shouldn't be "graded down" on this too. How do you miss a guy punching another guy in the exact center of the field of play? * Defense running on empty. I'm not sure if NFO's complaint that the Bears have a country club training camp is more convincing to me now. But damn if they didn't run out of steam two weeks in a row. I wonder about conditioning if they can't play a full game. Having Griese pass at will at the end of the contest was insulting. * Orton stepped up in the second half or I'd be calling for his head. As is, I think he played well and he isn't the one to place blame on. Oh well, 1 game out of first with 3 games down. Unfortunately, unless McNabb is hurt, we're going to get hammered this weekend.

Well, hopefully you'll have her back in 6 weeks to face the music. To me this sounds like something she could end up in jail for doing. Clearly there's a breach of her oath of office and it sounds like she hasn't exactly made a lot of friends. I know her approval rating was high but these new stories coming out about her might just empower a few of the people she's stepped on along the way. If McCain wins, this stuff about Sarah won't see the light of day in Alaska or anywhere else. Republicans have a way of making their crimes disappear.

I just got this letter emailed to me by my dad. What's unusual about that? He's a guy who votes Republican almost 100% of the time. Seems this Palin pick is having an undesired impact for old Johnny. At least the problems of the week got us talking about substantive issues. No surprise, when that happened, Obama killed McCain. The worst thing that could've happened for the old man was for Americans to start focusing on the economy. He wants this to be about Piggy Palin.
