  1. Agree entirely. The nitwit was trying to rip off the mans helmet, only because he is much slighter than Garrett was he unsuccessful. I get Rudolph’s feeling about getting what thought continued and late contact but you have Be smarter and not make matters worse. Take a page out of Rodgers’ book and just lay there and flop around a bit, you can be sure a flag will come your way.
  2. If the Bears suddenly start playing better and continue to win, some of the changes prior to that won’t make sense. Those being the loss of Hicks (IR), Long (IR) and Trevathan (probably IR). Davis (waived), Shaheen (week to week to week to week) and Burton (see above). And for this week maybe Montgomery. In the stead of most of these guys are players they're bringing up from the practice squad or backup positions; Kwitkowski, Braunecker, Nall, Horstead, Coward and Williams. No one of significance has been traded for or signed from FA status. The team’s improvement will be largely based on the organic development of players like Williams, Kwitkowski and Coward. But the question remains, will they improve?
  3. Not sure if it’s been picked up elsewhere but I was looking for info on Trevathan (they still haven’t determined whether he’ll be IRed or not). But I saw that Montgomery is nursing an ankle injury. Crap. So may be that means more of Nall this week? Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. https://www.google.com/amp/s/chicago.suntimes.com/platform/amp/bears/2019/11/13/20963898/bears-injury-report-david-montgomery-danny-trevathan-trey-burton-isaiah-irving-rams-wednesday
  4. Problem is, those “one or two overthrown passes’ happen within a single series resulting in a three and out. But I digress... I agree not only is he too unsteady, he’s too costly.
  5. Yeah he’s just having an off year for whatever reason. I wasn’t a big fan of Fullers a few years back until he suddenly came into his own. He was lights out his contract year (hmm amazing how that happens) then pretty solid since then. I’d say Jackson just needs time; he’ll come back round.
  6. I’m with you. But I wonder if he’s not trying to conjure up the mojo from last year and see if the team will positively build odd that energy. Still, being a guy who appreciates words like ‘despicable’ to describe last weeks’ win I have a hard time understanding that way of motivation. It’s like seeing when a guy makes a catch short of the first down celebrate the fact he caught the pass like he won the super bowl. I just don’t get it.
  7. Hmm... there was this guy on our team not all that long ago that did pretty darn good in the run department. Didn't fit the offensive scheme that Nagy had, they said. Didn't know how to catch, they said. What was his name? (Yes I'm 'crying over spilled milk').
  8. I think I'm with you. Without injury he's too melodramatic for my liking when things don't go his way. With his injury; what I hear is a Lifsanc Strain, I'm hesitant since there isn't much (positive or negative) in the way of long term prognosis of someone coming back from this type injury. And for a guy who's major attribute is mobility...that could be a problem. All that being said; great athlete and great team player...when he's happy and winning.
  9. Yep. I think you’re right. And watching the 9ers tonight makes me think of what could have been. This is what the Bears should be looking like right now. Solid (not spectacular) QB play, play-action and inside/outside zone running supported by the OCCASIONAL big pass play with solid defense. It makes me sick to see the Bears’ offense struggling like it is and as a result the defense, like an overripe fruit, withering on the vine.
  10. Last week it was “Nincompoops”, today “Despicable”. Thank you Dan Hampton for your no-nonsense take on the current state of our team. Couldn’t agree more. https://www.google.com/amp/s/bearswire.usatoday.com/2019/11/11/bears-lions-dan-hampton-despicable-win-week-10/amp/
  11. In breaking news the team re-signed Bradley Sowell...again and released OLB Vaughters (which seems unfortunate). In the below story it was interesting to see that Shaheen was a “healthy scratch” (please cut him already!!!!) and Trey Burton suffered some sort of calf injury. Can we please see Horstead play now?!??! Meanwhile Mike Davis was picked up by the Panthers. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.windycitygridiron.com/platform/amp/2019/11/11/20960275/chicago-bears-sign-bradley-sowell-mike-davis-james-vaughters-los-angeles-rams-santa-sleigh-td
  12. For this particular draft and these three QBs; Watson has the most credibility (IMHO) simply due to his ability to make it to back to back National Championships and play almost identically in both games; one time winning against an NFL prospect filled team in Alabama. Mahomes was the ‘riskier, gunslinger type’ QB (the anti-Alex Smith in fact) that for whatever reason Reid and the KC staff decided to take a risk on. Trubisky...was a 13 game starter with a 10-3 (?) record playing for NCAA football powerhouse NC. (Yes there is a bit of a sarcasm there. Even Tom Brady had two years of starting at Michigan before he was drafted...in the sixth round. It’s possible Mahomes could be the next Jameis Winston (himself a risk taker but relatively successful QB in college) and start to flame out in the NFL after another year or two. Or Watson could be the next Cam Newton (not only a successful college QB and national champion but also Heisman winner) where now people wonder if he has the spirit left in him and where he’ll be next year. But Trubisky is who we thought he was; and that was not a second round pick.
  13. Yeah all we did here was assure another week of Trubisky. And Nagy didn’t even have his play card in hand for the last half of the fourth quarter. So maybe he maxed out his plays and decided to revert to sandlot rules? WTF?!? Defense, once the shiny star of the team is a shell of its former self. Don’t necessarily think Pagano is to blame but the loss of Hicks and lackluster play of Mack is definitely figuring in.
  14. That’s where Smith comes in . Problem is you lose Trevathan to keep Kwit where he is. Wonder how he’d do as an OLB?
  15. If the Bears do nothing else they need to be sure both Kwitkowski and Skrine come back next year.
  16. Bears MVP Kwitkowski with an INT after the bears score another offensive TD. What the holy heck?? Then suddenly they score again?!! who is this team? I am unfamiliar.
  17. So I noticed something interesting today; normally Nagys play card is full of crap. But today its nearly as blank as what’s below this sentence... Paring back the offense considerably.
  18. I was right there with you!!! Lol My saving grace is that the ground is frozen so I can’t do much yard work. Leaves me to have to do my indoor chores today. GO BEARS!!! Play good!!!
  19. I wonder the same thing. It seems when they ‘hurry up’ the offense does better. And historically speaking, Trubiksy seems to play a tad better in ‘crunch time’ and under pressure.
  20. This is absolute garbage. Whitehair skids the ball across the ground and Trubisky is sacked. yay.
