I was curious too and found this most recent article from SI. In short it speculates he could be back. Last week was his third week missed and had he needed to be out longer he’d have been out on IR and required to miss four weeks at a minimum. I suspect because of the extra days between games the team won’t be required to report injuries as soon? With extra time to recuperate, here’s to hoping he’s back. Mack has been playing as a rotational piece and gotten 4(?) sacks so far. I have to wonder if he’s put into the Bears defense would he not help a player like Sweat get less attention? I suppose the same could be applied towards Buckner and Simmons but I’m partial to Mack. 🤷‍♂️

We saw how having the odds in your favor worked for Chicago going to GB a few weeks ago. Let’s hope the same plays out here. And yeah….cant believe we’re pretty much halfway done with the season. 😢

As an aside, Atlanta knocked off formerly unbeaten SF. As a reminder the Bears beat ATL at home a few weeks ago at their home. I’m not as concerned of SF as I once was. Let’s go Lions!

I’m almost certain we'll see this again down the road. And probably just like described. Wouldn’t be the least bit surprised it was Thuney. Imagine if he’d score and how cool for him that would be? Four SB wins but never a TD score until then? Pretty awesome salute to him if they could pull it off. I noticed a few times in the game they were doing that thing where they swap sides on the oline. One time I caught it live was Benedet and Wright and think it was on a significant gain on offense.

A reminder that Sweat will be returning for the Seattle game. I hope that to be a positive and noticeable improvement. Shortly after that game the NFL trade deadline will be looming. Is there a chance Chicago makes a splash before of after they play the Seahawks?

Admittedly I haven’t watched a lot of Minny ball outside of their game against Chicago. But I feel they are paper tigers and destined for a big fall soon. There was no question Chicago should have beat them when they played each other and would’ve had Caleb not gone down.

Yeah I was looking at that. I couldn't quite make it out in the couple quick replays I watched but it appeared he did line up as the third lineman out there, as if he was intending to be an eligible receiver, but maybe he forgot to declare? Or does he have to declare regardless of it being a forward handoff or a forward pass? Maybe Johnson didn't know the intricacies of the rule and assumed that if he wasn't getting a pass he didn't need to declare? 🤷‍♂️

From what I learned listening to the officials, they can hand off to a lineman but it can’t be a forward handoff. Has to be back. I think to Mongos point, if you’re gonna call trick plays at his level, Johnson should be sure he knows the rules. He looked dumbfounded when they called the penalty. I did too but I’m sitting at home on my couch.

Now there are rumors saying Jonah Jackson is playing tomorrow. I grabbed this screenshot from what I think is a reputable social media link (BearsEmpire) but couldn’t find it on the Bears website which is where it is usually located. Another ‘source’ (BearsWire) says he’s not carrying an injury designation into the game tomorrow. In today’s world of AI you can never tell. It confirms that Monangai will be out again. But nothing about Edwards. Is that because he’s IR?

That GB game definitely skewers those numbers. There have been a fair share of lopsided wins and like last night (and ours against ATL) lopsided scores until the losing team makes up a lot of ground to scarily close the gap. Sterling man! Did you not see how he self-destructed yesterday? He was ejected from the game for Pete’s sake. And besides the TD he scored followed by that sweet air-walk late last season, what has he done to significantly contribute to the offense? Don’t get me wrong, a huge fan but when it comes to comparing him to Rome it’s apples to oranges.

Yeah, for sure. Penalties then throttled back a little prematurely. But I have 20/20 hindsight on that part.

Wow! Caleb is apparently the elixir everyone needed. The defense, the offense and Ben. Everyone is fired up! The energy reminds me of the Eagles game.
