I was looking at our rosterand came across with the notion that we have alot of beef but little talent. So with that being said out of the 10 players listed on the roster who would you keep and who will you give the pink slip too? Johan Asiata 6'4 300 (G) Robetro Garza 6'2 310 (G) Levi Horn 6'7 315 (T) Herman Johnson 6'7 360 (G) Olin Kreutz 6'2 292 © Lance Louis 6'3 305 (G) Frank Omiyale 6'4 315 (T) J'Marcus Webb 6'8 335 (T) Chris Williams 6'6 315 (T) Edwin Williams 6'3 313(G/C)

So it seems to me that we are going to get an OL and WR somewhere in the draft or FA this year. So who do you think it will be? http://www.kffl.com/hotw/NFL?page Bears | Looking for versatile OL Thu, 21 Apr 2011 09:20:55 -0700 Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo said offensive coordinator Mike Martz and offensive line coach Mike Tice are looking for linemen that could play tackle and guard, according to Jeff Dickerson, of ESPNChicago.com. Is it just me or does anyone else see a pattern to whom we bring in and at what position they play? Well we need help at OT, DT, LB,SS/FS, WR due to FA or not having the right players to start with. But looking at some of the draft sites and information cloumns I see that we are looking at, talking to or bring in/working out DB'S, LB'S,dt and OL. Makes you wonder if we need a big WR, at all
-
You need to change your draft we do not have a 7th rd pick
-
Some strange picks here indeed, but we do not have a seventh rd pick
-
True about the return part of his game, but we need to use him in screens, quick ins from the slot and on more reverses(not the slowest WR you have), and from the wildcat to use all his speed

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ John Mullin of Comcast SportsNet Chicago reports that the Bears plan to release backup running back Chester Taylor this offseason. The report points out that 2011 would be Taylor’s age-32 season, and “his arrow is definitely not pointing up.” Taylor averaged 2.38 yards per carry during the 2010 regular season, a dreadful mark even if some of his rushing attempts were of the short-yardage variety. He exhibited very little burst between the tackles. The Bears signed Taylor to a four-year, $12.5 million contract last March and have already paid him $7 million. Taylor’s base salary in 2011 is scheduled to be $1.275 million. G.M. Jerry Angelo can put that money toward an extension for 25-year-old feature back Matt Forte. Need to cut Brandon Manumaleuna too,

Well I have been saying just that for years ever since we got him

The Jacksonville Jaguars have released OT Jordan Black

So with the worst line in the NFL we go to the final four and lose by 7. Now with a all pro guard and a better blocking center you think we will be worse than last year. Please remember that alot of the sacks last year came because we were trying to throw the ball deep with the 5-7 step drops against teams we know that loved to blitz. Better blocking up the middle will make the passing game and Cutler better

oops sorry about that it is DeAndre Brown i was speaking of

Wesson44 @ Jan 31 2011, 07:12 AM) 1. We need to get rid of Kreutz and Garza they are old and can block well anymore. Get Mankins as a FA and draft a center So you want their OL next year to be Omiyale-Williams-ROOKIE CENTER-Mankins-Webb? Wasn't Webb a rookie this year!!!! 2. We need to get a WR like TO, Fitzgerald, Ocho Cinco, V.Jackson, Moss, Rice, someone that can be a no#1. Draft either A. Brown(southern miss) or Baldwin(Pitt) I have no idea who A.Brown is. A brown is 6'6 and 220 and runs a 4.4 3. Get a true man playing corner like Bailey or Asomugha. Jennings to short and Tillman getting old and slow If you think old and slow is Tillman, Bailey isn't much better. Asomugha is going to cost Peppers money so I doubt that happens. Baily is old but still better than Tillman in coverage!! And if we want to win what is money...added Peppers and look what happened 11-5 4. Use the Damn play book to use the screens, passes to the RB(Forte over 500 yrds) use the big TEs Olsen & Davis is jump ball in the red zone. Big TE's in the redzone isn't Martz's idea of fun. Maybe not but it creates mismataches the defense cant adjust to 5 Use Hester on both kick offs and punt returns. Agree.

Bears players contracts who will expire at the conclusion of the league year include Anthony Adams, Devin Aromashodu, Kahlil Bell, Josh Bullocks, Desmond Clark, Todd Collins, Rashied Davis, Corey Graham, Caleb Hanie, Brian Iwuh, Olin Kreutz, Danieal Manning, Brad Maynard, Nick Roach, Pisa Tinoisamoa, Edwin Williams, Rod Wilson and Garrett Wolfe. I think Todd Collins, Rod Wilson,Devin Aromashodu, Kahlil Bell, Josh Bullocks are gone

From looking at this just released schedule we are going to have another good year I'm thinking 11-5 again at least playing only seven teams with winning records and six playoff teams.. In addition to home-and-away games against NFC North foes Detroit (6-10), Green Bay (10-6) and Minnesota (6-10), the Bears will host Atlanta (13-3), Carolina (2-14), Seattle (7-9), Kansas City (10-6) and San Diego (9-7); and visit New Orleans (11-5), Tampa Bay (10-6), Philadelphia (10-6), Denver (4-12) and Oakland (8-8
-
Playing against the Packers will see the Bears have a 1,000 yrd rusher (Forte) because he now has 978 yards and needs just 22 to make the mark, and a 1,000 yrd WR (Knox) because he has 960 yards through the air and needs just 40 to reach the mark. Oh and give a big Bear hug to Cutler for being the first bear QB to make back to back 3,000 passing yard seasons and 23 TD passes!
-
I like Mike Vick......but the only reason he should not win comeback player of the year is because he came back last year not this year. Remember he sat behind McNabb the whole year. As for MVP....its a race Vick is to his team as what Rivers/Bready are to theirs. Rivers/Brady can throw and win games, but can they win them with their legs alone......no but Vick can, will and does. Over all he is more of a threat than Brady and Rivers.....just ask thw Rdskins & Giants!
-
Well your post is your post, but also the flip side of your negative view of the bears, with two good pass plays we could also be 9-1 right now with our only loss being to the Giants(who we were in the game with until middle of the 3rd quarter)
-
Since I played both positions in my younger days saftey and cornerback.......I will say that it was Harris that blew the coverage not Jennings. You are taught as a saftey to get deeper than the deepest WR. There was no reason he should in the cover two bite on the TE in the middle. Game planning would tell you that Harvin was the fastest (maybe the only) WR the Vikings had that could really hurt the Bears, so he should have been cheating to that side to help Jennings in the first place. Then if Harvin didn't go deep shift to cover Shiancoe or move to the middle. Which brings me to my next point. Other than D. Manning we have a SLOW secondary that will always get beat. We need to draft players with some speed to make the cover two really work as planned.
-
Well thats but what I'm saying not every pass will be a lob, but just as in the Dallas game if you get burned on one of them then the defense will adjust and back off. Yes the line needs to block but a taller WR would help Cutler throw the ball quicker. Just picture you being 5'10 and me being 6'5 if I'm standing in front of you and cutler throws a quick high pass......who has the better chance of making the catch me or you?
-
Yes in a way he is. Because he had 26 INT's last year he is protecting the ball better so instead of throwing to our short WR's he is holding the ball more.If he had a bigger(taller) 6'5 guy he can lob the ball over the smaller DB the same way he trys to hit Olsen all the time. It's a mismatch. Shotgun--3 step drop and throw the fade route.
-
ok so you have your points but with a bad line i would throw quickly to the 6'5 WR all day over your little 5'11 DB. You dont know anything about football if you cant create a mismatch that will stop the pass rush. Look at the Dallas game as proof. So stop bashing me for real life accouts of a game I have played. Why is Cutler getting sacked .....the line you will say and to a degree thats true, but did you notice all his WR are 5-11 to 6-1 so he has to hold the ball longer. He has to there is no 6'5 guy to lob the ball to. Olsen has made some of those plays becausae he is 6'5. Just like in basketball that taller you are you can do more over the smaller players. Is Moss alawys open, what about larry Fitzgerald so when you are in the shotgun a have a bigger guy to throw to you can have a quicker release. But yes BLOCKING does help.
