  1. If we somehow flop this game, I'm in for some trades for draft picks only. I would think Floyd, Prince, Davis, Trevathon, Leno, Massie, Patterson, Gabriel and Burton could all fetch something and alleviate cap hit next season. Keep all rookie deals and again trade for picks only. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
  2. We are taking my Pops to this game. He's a former football player, lifelong bears fan and never been to Soldier Field. This is truly a bucket list item. I got us 4th row seats on the 10 yard line, so that should make it a great experience. Bears in a beat down!
  3. We'll definitely have to draft a QB, even if it's for backup duties. Bray should be able to supplant Daniels next year. Keep the succession going until you get a winner. I personally like the every other year plan, unless you know you got a dud the previous year.
  4. Something I found thought provoking. If Vic Fangio were to be fired today, would you sacrifice Pagano to get Fangio back?
  5. Two things Trubisky desperately needs needs to work on: 1) Pre snap read. He cannot miss seeing wide open receivers when it's 3rd and any distance. 2) He has to start hitting on some deep balls. It's almost like he's afraid to put it on the money out of fear of interception, so many overthrows. If he can't hit a deep ball, the run game will never work. The defense has no respect of getting burnt.
  6. On MT specifically: he needs to know when he hits the 5th step of his drop that he's either firing or already looking elsewhere. If he picks up his mental rhythm, he can eventually hit some throws. There are throws you can make to a covered receiver that we see made all the time that he is not attempting. Always remember, the recover has the advantage. It's almost like he needs an ego. Stop playing scared or he's going to play himself out of a job.
  7. Nothing will get better unless Trubisky starts hitting the deep ball. Without that, ball control portion of the offense will remain non existent. Without that, the OL can't keep up with varying degrees of pressure. Without that, Tarik Cohen has no room for explosive plays. Without that, Nagy can't call a good balanced game. Time for designed plays to specifically go deep even if the issue is forced.
  8. Don't give up just yet. They had a bye week to fully digest the wake up call. I'm hoping/expecting to see more physicality today...
  9. As much as we've thrown to TE this year, I'd say dump them all and sign some extra tackles, lol...
  10. Exactly! The entire offensive side of the football was not mentally or physically ready to start this season. All on Nagy. I just don't know exactly how.
  11. No, for many reasons. I truly can't see a scenario that would be positive. First, Gordon wants paid. 2nd Davis and Cohen were both good last year, so what's the difference this year? Montgomery is a good young back. Lastly, fix the blocking and everything else falls into place. (Including the passing game)
  12. My thoughts exactly when I was discussing this with my pops.
  13. Let's see who wins the first Superbowl!
  14. That's why Jason and I have preaching OL on this forum, going on 2 decades now. Next man up!
  15. That's true. My Colts buddies a at work are wondering why they haven't cracked the top ten on ESPN's poll.
  16. Travel plans weren't too big of a deal. My main problem is that he does not have his team ready to play. It's also bothersome that he didn't have a clue how bad his OL was going to start the season. How do you show up with a complacent pre season, in your second season. That's after winning coach of the year. That's pretty cocky for a second year coach. Every Sunday, if you don't fight with everything you have, you will lose. Leno and Massey were decent last year. What happened? Complacency, overconfidence? It's certainly not age or injury. Did they not know Long was washed up. They would have known if they tested him. Then there's play calling...
  17. After five weeks, I've seen enough to point the finger squarely at Nagy. From not playing starters in preseason to be being the only coach to take his team to London that late, he is constantly showing that he is overconfident. Meanwhile the Raiders were 0-2 in London and decided to take his team earlier than anyone else did. What we see the next 11 games will also be on Nagy. Heading back from lunch. More to come later...
  18. The o line has gotten better week by week. Hopefully the trend continues.
  19. The biggest difference to me was the fear. The 85 team brutalized other teams. If the current team played by the same rules as 85, there would be that same fear.
  20. I hope we never find out and it's a one off situation.
  21. Kap has no interest in playing football, he only wants to be a martyr for his cause. Otherwise, he would have played in Canada or not walked away from his huge contract at the least. If he were in the game, we would not be talking about him. He's not so we are...
  22. I don't believe we are trying to be KC. They are literally faster at every skill position on offense. Looking at our offensive skill positions, we look sturdier. I like what we are doing, but unless we can hit some big plays teams are going to dare us to get past them. That's ok with me as long as we can grind. That's all our defense needs.
  23. Our defense has been utterly dominant in the first half of games this year. They have given up 13 points total. That sets the tone and allows us to dictate the second half of games. They should stay dominant against Oakland, then go on to the bye week and get healthy. As long as the offense progresses, thus team is a contender.
