Davis was well below average last year due to lack of conditioning, knowledge of offense, injury and lack of continuity. His value should increase dramatically this year. The OL, as a whole, should be better at each position. Jenkins is playing for a contract. Let's see what his body looks like in TC. Wright in year two. Jones in year three. Center is the weak spot again...

Readdressing the WR position. I'm looking at the Bengals and wondering how they are going to manage Burrow, Chase and Higgins. They will account for 120 million a year. Is the cap rating enough to support that? Will it be sustainable if not?

With only seven teams making the playoffs, that's definitely on the wish list. It's not going to be an easy road, especially when we have two teams ahead of us in our own conference. Are we better than any of the following: Detroit, Green Bay, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Dallas? Then, someone automatically gets in from the NFC South, leaving one spot open. A lot of things have to go right for us. We could possibly have a ten and seven record and not make a wildcard. In the end, I don't believe it would take a SB run for him to make another Sweat type of trade. Heck, I would do it just because it was and will be a no brainer. Taking advantage of the market is what the smart teams do. Poles has put is in position to do so. Until our QB begins elevating the team, the money needs to follow the ones that do. Once the QB is established, those deals are off the table.

I'm following that line; I think if Poles sees that if Caleb can play and that we are also in contention for a playoff spot, he will definitely spend on a good player. That good player would definitely have to be of the OL DL category to make sense.

I think Poles has done very well staggering the contracts. 2031 would be a dream come true, if we're solid until then. Obviously, he'll pay Caleb first, then make decision on Rome.(That's if they ball out)

I'm doing this for WR, please feel free to add other positions. Since the Jefferson deal, I'm questioning what we do with WR in the future. We are currently on a great position with having three 1's in the room. For future purposes, do we draft a WR annually to ensure the pipeline is full or do we pay 35+ million to re-sign our own? Looking at Dallas, they are going to have to pay CD the same as JJ to keep him. Add 60 mil to Dak and it seems untenable. Especially with their EDGE rusher wanting a record contract as well.

I would prefer that Caleb make a ton of 'tight window' mistakes early in camp. He must learn, very early, what two foot window is and is not open. Every college QB to ever come out has struggled in camp with the speed, instincts and professional spacing of NFL defenders.

One of the three games (Cleveland) he was too ballsy and got burnt by that big Njokue play. He vacated a zone thinking the blitz would get home. So, he did learn and adapt. It just failed.

You can't tell anything by watching hugs. Flus may not be that warm huggy type. I'm Italian, we hug everyone. I could literally hug someone and think of them dead. (And they would never know) Other cultures act differently. I remember us discussing Poles hugging Fields. It ended up being business as usual. Pro football is nothing but, "what have you done lately"? And that's regardless of friendship and loyalty. They all understand it.

If this is the NFL GM's see it, we would be over the moon. There are 64 starting OT's in league. To say we have second and third year guys in the top half is amazing to think of.

This part is very important to a rebuild. Flus is building himself as well. He may have not been fully ready to be a HC, but what guy was going to come in and endure the rebuild? The in-game decisions will be much faster for him this year, not having to deal with Alan Williams stuff and also with the game slowing down, as it also does with players. If Flus is here three more years, it's a really good sign.

Yup. I believe there was a reason for the admonishment. No way they nailed him like that on one offense. If so, that would be very unprofessional.

Yeah, I definitely see turkey day as a prime-time game. There also may be some flex-in games later in the season with if division is tight.

We don't know the extent of the relationship between the three QBs. I've never heard a bad thing about Dalton or Foles. IMO, two seasoned veterans vs a rookie QB, tells me that the old fellas wanted their respect and adoration and didn't feel they were getting it. On Justin's end, he's probably thinking his game is way different than the other two, so why delve into things that didn't match his game.

If he proves it, he'll get it.

Last time we were there, it was against the chargers. Mitch was QB and drove us to a last second game winning field goal attempt. The guys behind were all negative, saying Parkey was going to blow the 40 yarder. It pissed me off because we spent a lot of money to be on the fifth row and we didn't wanna hear that crap. Parkey doinked it off the upright and I wanted to kill those people. They weren't the only ones. If you go to GB or Indy, the fans are never like that.

You may be on to something. My experience at Soldier Field has been very negative. Jackass fans would probably boo Caleb on the first three and out. I think Bears fans are extremely loyal, but probably the least positive in the league.

A story from Justin Fields rookie year came out over the weekend. Andy Dalton was working the white board, trying to help Justin with the offense and looked up and Justin was fixated on his phone. Evidently Dalton and Foles let him have it, telling him he was on his own. ESPN 1000 I didn't want to start a jump on Justin thread. Thought it was interesting though.
