  1. Trubisky, Fields, franchise history with QBs is about to change. Poles, with the Panthers' pick, hass set us up with a once-in-a-franchise opportunity. He has the first pick in a QB heavy draft, and he has the 9th pick as well. If poles thinks one of the QBs is even a smidge bit better than Fields, its a done deal and he'll take him. THAT is how you change the course of a team that struggles for mediocrity at the position. Tom Waddle said today that great QBs make the surrounding players better, but surrounding a so-so QB with more talent doesn't improve the team. I think Poles has the right plan.
  2. Imagine passing on a QB that's better than Justin and the Bears continuing to lose games because our QB can't lead a fourth quarter rally. Hey, we are doing that now. So, given our position, I'm hoping Poles gets us a new QB that, for the least, we can win some of those games in the fourth quarter.
  3. Great thing for us is that we have the first pick, our choice of the litter AND pick nine as well. What's the odds that, if we trade out of no. 1, we end up with the first pick over-all next year? Highly unlikely. That's why I'm in for drafting QB with that first pick. And we could also trade pick 9, depending on how the cards play out. This is our once-in-a-generation drafting opportunity and I feel confident in Pole's to get it right.
  4. Ouch! But I was thinking the same thing. And that's why I'm for drafting the QB with the first pick as opposed to trading--though the prospect for a trasure-trove is tempting. We need a reliable QB to bring back the Bears to NFL contention.
  5. Right. Going to be a very interesting offseason and, as we've done for ages, hope springs eternal. LOL
  6. Hey, he's only had three years. we should give him more time, right? Sarcasm. Draft a QB at no. 1 and move forward now with the base Poles has put together.

Well, that definitely would eliminate Fields for Bruce.
  8. Inmates running the asylum. I trust Poles is capable of making a great decision on draft day and thta he'll consider all of the noise and do his homework. And yes, that will include players' input, but he's taking a different perspective on the choice that players/former players.
  9. Most "talented" yes, but definitely not the most winning nor who you want when trailing late in the game. Athleticism is awesome, but the ability to read D and release quick is better at the QB position.
  10. Fields problem is he holds the ball too long and he hasn't won a game with a final, come from behind drive. Opposing D's know he holds the ball too long and that dooms the Bears to mediocrity. Right now I'm a definite draft a QB at one. We are in such a unique position: good young talent, great outlook for the D next season, great cap situation and another pick in the top 10. I trust Poles assessment of draft talent so I wan a new QB with one of our two no. 1. But, I'll just read something or listen to sports radio and I'm sure I'll filp-flop before the draft. But either way, we are in a great position.
  11. I think we all view retaining Flus as a head-scratcher. But, as I think Stinger pointed out in another thread, Poles is unlike any GM we've had, he has a system and he sticks to it. He is consistent and I think Flus did just enough last season to let Poles stick to the 4-year rebuild and keep Flus around, at least in year 3. We just haven't seen this systematic approach from a GM and it seems to work around the league. So, yeah, I would have let Flus go, but I'm buying into Poles and I'm trusting his vision. Flus has a 4 year contract (?) so definitely no, I wouldn't extend him now, but gotta see what year three of the Poles Flus rebuild will bring and revisit this after next season.
  12. imDo, it's the coaching fraternity. Washington gets a image-projecting position for future hire. Flus can delegate SOME responsibilities on D and focus on other issues.
  13. God, I hate indecision. Keep him, trade him, I guess, with our draft situation, there's really only win-win in any decision, unless. . . . You all know. LOL Gonna be fun/unnerving to wait till April to find out.
  14. I can agree with that. Listening to Waddle and Silvi yesterday, I came away confused again. I think I'm with the "trade the pick for a haul" camp and then they discuss rating the QBs of our division and guess who comes out last? Fields. Then they talk about "chasing greatness" and to be great, you gotta take a swing. So we have pick 1 and 9, when are we ever going to be in this position again? Take a QB at 1? Man, I'm gonna stop listening to Chicago radio or I'll be flipping every day. LOL
  15. But they already have a top draft pick in Trey Lance. . . .LOL
  16. What are the odds on that? Probably just a tad bit better than mine in the lottery. LOL
  17. Wish Pace had done that with Mitch!! LOL
  18. Yes, we Bear fans definitely got spoiled given the Panthers' gifting us another no one choice this year.
  19. Taking the QB at no one COULD work, Or COULDN'T. Trading and getting a ton now and then, if you have to, you can go after QB the next year with what you get in the trade. I'm agreeing with Jason on this.
  20. Sure hope not. But, if he plays like Peyton Manning I couldn't care less about his attitude. And lets face it, if Poles drafts him and he does ball out I really doubt the locker room will give a s#*t either.
  21. Oh yeah. And what I've seen Williams can be an aloof sob. That's just my o.
  22. Yep. I saw many times that Rogers gave up, blamed everyone else in games and pouted on the sidelines. That is not what a leader dos.
  23. And that's the conundrum for Poles. Great problem to have, but gonna be nay-sayers either way. I just hope this offseason gets us over the hump and I can look forward to a solid winning team for a change.
  24. All three? And probably what you want in your QB, e.g. Rogers?
