  1. Good points and the last one is one that has crossed my mind. Rodgers already gets preferential treatment being a marquee player coming back from an injury they'll probably give him the "marquee plus" treatment plan that ensures at least one phantom roughing for breathing on, looking at him funny, or some such crap. But knowing that the packers will probably get beneficial officiating as if it were in cheeseland. At the end of the day the onus is going to be on the Bears. They looked like crud on both sides of the ball and special teams last week. we were -2 in the turnover dept (one of them going for 6). We didn't stop the run, we didn't stop the pass, Harry and Loyd from dumb and dumber would have played better last week. I think your right that the pack will use max protect more than normal so it's going to be hard to get pressure if our line play this year is any indication. But if we can get a solid game out of Peppers, Radcliff, Shea, Pea, wooten etc. The key on D will be if our line can step up and disrupt him but also play with better discipline in the run game. As you point out Rodgers is not stupid he's going to do what he needs to do to stay upright for 4 quarters. And he won't be afraid to get the ball out quick or throw it away. The our secondary is going to have to have one of it's best games, as Rodgers has a nack for fitting the ball into tiny windows accurately, so our habit of giving quarterbacks huge picture windows to throw through coverage needs to be tighter. On offense it we need to use ball control. Good mix of run/pass long sustained scoring drives. When we've been successful we've usually dominated time of possession. Rodgers and the packer offense can't score from the sidelines. So we need long time consuming drives. Jay needs to spread the ball around better. His tendency to force it to Marshall only makes their job easier. A good mixture in targets will make it tough to know who to defend, which is why we got Bennet, and drafted Jeffery to go with Marshall. Lastly but not leastly, the line must protect Jay and give him time as well as open holes for Forte. A loss should be unacceptable to the players. And IMO would rival the collapse of last season. With two games to go in an up and down season we have a shot to clinch the division against the Eagles. The table was set perfectly. We blew it big time. Now we have a second chance to clinch the division and knock out the Pukers at home.
  2. From the date on the original post I think it was referring to Rodgers being out last week vs Pittsburg. Rodgers is reportedly in this week. The were talking about it on the radio speculating he wouldn't be ready because of the high risk for more serious damage if he got hit hard. A Ratliff sack could be that kinda hard hit that make him regret starting. But honestly I'd prefer to beat them with Rodgers, so there isn't that excuse of "well you beat us when we were without rodgers"
  3. I think it has to change. Forget tying to cater a system to what the guys are used to. While at the time the reasoning may have made sense as the D was our strong suit the past 5-10 years. But the Tampa 2 that Lovie Ran only works when you have two key ingredients. pressure from your front 7, and turnovers. We are getting almost no pressure at all, allowing QB's to have all day to throw, which exposes our poor secondary coverage so teams can light us up in the pass game, we play undisciplined in our run D and so we get lit up by anyone coming out of the backfield carrying the ball even guys who were on some teams practice squad the week before. It's time for a change whether it's Tucker back next year and he puts in a different system, or we bring in someone else to run their system. We didn't change our system from last year because "if it aint broke don't fix it" well it's pretty damn broken and needs to be fixed. This will be the key to any future success. When you can't stop anyone on d you give up points like we did today, and it puts all the pressure on your offense to "keep up" when the opposition knows they've made you one dimensional. With the offense developing into a better scoring offense, we don't need a spectacular D we just need a good D.
  4. I hope the Bears really take a good look at themselves... and that this game thoroughly pisses them off as much or more than it does us. They should be ashamed of the way they played today. Not a single player on this team has any reason to feel good about themselves. We had the table set. Detroit lost, GB lost, a win tonight and we clinch and not only did we crap it down our leg tonight we looked bad doing it. I'm embarrassed, ashamed and pissed at this team tonight. I saw no desire, no effort, no pride. This was a gutless pathetic effort.
  5. I hope the whole eagles team gets hurt for running up the score.
  6. I'm tired of wasting viewing time and energy hoping jay gets his head out of his arse. We have an offensive line, big targets, and we've seen this offense hum with McCown. Jay steps in and the offense regresses. I don't want Jay back here next year. I'm done with him, there is nothing defensible about his game.
  7. I'm with ya. Can the Bears just leave him in Philly?
  8. Well Jay is in the Christmas spirit. A gift wrapped TD. Damn is Jay good at doing that.
  9. Merry Christmas to you and yours... this is just a game.
  10. Well, we don't have a professional defense, hell we don't look like a pee wee defense. I've never been so disgusted with the Bears than I have tonight. Our high scoring offense held back by a retard who calls himself a QB, a D held back by their own stupidity and lack of talent. And we are playing like the friggin tin man who doesn't have a heart.
  11. 5 years of getting his brains beat in behind horrible offensive lines here prob has something to do with that. We probably ruined him. Not sure I even feel like watching the 4rh Qtr I have better things to do like pick lint out of my pockets, or play some xbox, or watch a movie, or hit my head repeatedly on my wall to see what jay feels like.
  12. he's mentallly damaged does that count? What good is a QB whisperer when your QB is deaf?
  13. put McCown in... I've seen a enough of this shit
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if we then lose next week and watch the Cheesheads make some noise in the playoffs. Everything looks out of sync with the offense. routes aren't crisp, blocking is poor, blitz pickup is a joke, dropped balls. two different times we got away with delay of game, the play clock seems like it's always near zero when we're getting ready to snap the ball.
  15. turnover by the bears... but watch them give this one back to the Eagles. They can hold our defensive line, grab, hold and interfere with our recivers... it's all good.
  16. we don't belong in the playoffs. we suck with a capitol S
  17. Carolina beat the saints today so does that set up us to play the saints at Soldier Field? These scenarios have me a little confused lol The only scenarios I've really been watching have been the ones that get us into the playoffs. Right now the Lions are losing to the Giants but the Pukers just took the lead over the Steelers, but they may have lost Matthews again.
  18. maybe the time away has been good for him. I think overall he's a good coach, he just needs to let go of the blind loyalty to his buddies that he likes to bring in, and be flexible with the D, 4-3 Tampa 2 vs their current 3-4 could be a sticky issue. Just as it could have been for us with some of the candidates we interviewed being 3-4 guys. If Lovie can surround himself with quality OC and DC and let those guys do their thing he could find success there. Problem is in Chicago he was hell bent on running HIS Tampa 2 and didn't allow for deviation which is why he stuck with his buddy in Rod. It worked here because we had the talent on that side of the ball and early on had the guys up front to make that D work. This year proves why you need flexibility. If you are weak up front and can't get pass rush the D doesn't work without creative blitzing. Loyalty is one thing but blind loyalty was a big part of his downfall here. Angelo didn't help matters by failing to address the line. We all got sick of hearing "we like our guys" when those guys were scrubs who'd not likely make anyone else's starting lineup. Offensively Texans are a mess Foster is is on the decline, Tate will be gone, Andre Johnson is their only real stud WR and he's hit or miss. Smith would be inheriting an offense that is crumbling, and a good D. Not saying it can't work but a Smith lead Texans could be a strong defensive team with an anemic offense. Sound familiar? But if he can hit on his coordinators there's a chance.
  19. When we were leaving the stadium from the Monday night game against the cowgirls. heading towards the south shore the crowd was chanting Green Bay Sucks.... Green Bay Sucks...... lol
  20. The most productive thing he's done all year
  21. If we go offense early I'd rather it be a QB that we can groom behind Cutler/McCown for a year or two.
  22. ha ha so true, and especially stafford's and Johnson's. Johnson hauls in that catchable 2 pt conversion and the Ravens are playing for OT instead of the win. Like the announcers said they threw up on themselves lol
  23. Exactly. Tonight the table was set for Detroit, and the game was there to win and hey crapped it down their leg. Similarly the table is now set for us, with a win over the Eagles we could be in great shape. But we have to do do what Detroit failed to do tonight. We have to take care of business. We'll have a clear idea of the steaks by game time. All this is moot if we crap the bed like Detroit did. Gotta put it all on the line here the next two weeks and once your in the playoffs anything can happen.
  24. his clutch interceptions are a thing of beauty
  25. Bears should send him a case of his fav beer for that kick. 61 yards even in doors that was sick. just sneaking it over the crossbar.
