..and that's what she said... sorry couldn't resist lol

I agree as well, locking Gould up for the next 4 years vs looking for a replacement either FA or draft to come in and kick at soldier field. Gould has been one of the best assets that our offense has at it's disposal, let's not forget what things were like when we couldn't find a kicker to save our lives. Robbie knows this stadium his accuracy, and range is worth keeping around. Now his counter part Podlesh.... I'd drop him off at the curb and tape a note to his back that reads "shanks alot!"

I thought I heard it was family related, Family is more important than a game. The timing sucked but we don't plan for family emergencies or situations. Two families I'm close with lost a loved one this past two weeks. Not saying that's what the deal with Earl was but if it was serious enough to pull him away from this game then I think we should cut him some slack.

I agree with Pix here, add in all the 1 year deals. The writing has been on the wall for the last few years, our D has been aging fast and it's time to get younger and/or fresh players in there to retool. I think there is a plan to retool. And I agree that while it's easy to look at the D and say Tucker should go, and maybe he should but at the same time it was a gamble to keep the same scheme from the old staff as the starting group were all familiar with it. However it was a gamble that didn't pay off as our D became more and more depleted. They gave the stat during the game that we've had the most turnover of personnel on D in the league. I'm guessing Tucker gets a second chance next season to put in his own scheme, with a healthy and upgraded D. What I do pin on Tucker is how fundamentally unsound and undisciplined this D has been this year. Even when we've had guys in position to make plays they fail. We don't tackle well, we don't cover well, we don't take good angles, and we don't contain. Even with backups you should at least at this level be fundamentally sound.

This is the part that stings the most. It's the freaking Packers, the team many of us hate more than anything. That smug Rodgers coming into our house and walking away a winner and Division champ and the sports nation again gets to laugh at the Bears who had the perfect setup to clinch last week, and turn in one the most embarrassing overall performances by a Bear team that I can recall witnessing, then to have the season come down to one game against your most bitter rival, and blow a winnable game. I can't begin to describe how much I hate the packers... I just hope they get their arse handed to them big time in their first playoff game. still wouldn't make up for this season... but at least in that moment I'd get a good chuckle.

haven't taken the time to look yet but who might be available as FA on D this offseason? the only ones I can think of off hand that I like are Greg Hardy DE from Carolina they are going to have some cap issues he could be a casualty. Jarius Byrd who's been mentioned in this thread. Aquib Talib and Alterraun Verner are a couple CB's who might look good in a Bears uni another who is a former Bear could bring back Corey Graham.

now we're going to never hear the end of how great Aaron Rodgers is. I hope the pukers get beat 3000 to 0 in the playoffs. Both the offense and the defense had several opportunities to have changed the outcome. If the offense doesn't start off ice cold and we take advantage of a slow start by GB we have a 1-2 score lead going into halftime. If the D comes up with stops on 4th downs and makes other key stops we maintain that lead through the second half. If Jeffery makes that catch, when we were up 28-27 and we finish the drive continues and we can chip more time off the clock and if we get 7 then GB has their backs against the wall down 2 scores. There are a lot of little moments that could have made a big difference. Like last week there is plenty of blame to go around. We should have been using time outs on d to preserve the clock and also give the d a chance to rest that last drive they were out there a long time.

freak this
-
every freakin break has gone to the packers. busted coverage at the worst possible spot. we give up a wide open TD. The Bears don't belong in the playoffs. I hope all the packers players get injured in their first playoff game.
-
dammit ball game there.
-
biggest 4th down of the season for the Bears D. Make the stop and you can virtually run out the clock they only have 1 time out left
-
that was delay of game!!!!! clock was at 0
-
seems like the packers get 1 extra yard on every spot. 45h and inches they'll probably score
-
drive is stalling fast.....
-
that was sick
-
lol Rodgers expecting a flag to bail them out again. We need to follow this up with a TD drive and make this an 8 point game
-
they'll overturn it, the zebras know who pays their salary
-
Trestman must have reminded Jay at halftime that there are other receivers on the field besides marshall But on that note Rodgers has a similar tendency to force feed Nelson.
-
holy shit that was a nice play. that should be a TD I think he crossed the plain before he was down
-
nice job of cob pushing off
-
tackling is optional should have had that stuffed in the backfield instead he nearly scores from midfiled
-
adjustment 13-7 at half so it'll be 20-7 when the bears offense next gets the ball. On a side note someone with better ears than me any idea what that ref was yelling to castanza (52) after that skirmish at the end of the half it sounded like: "Get your hands off..... your as close as....." last thing sounded like "get out"
-
Exactly. there's been at least 3 winnable games that we blew. Against the skins, second detroit game, and second vikings game. Win any one of those three or more and we have this division locked up and this game would be meaningless. The Bears made their bed and now they are having to lie in it.
-
are the announcers contractually obligated to say Aaron Rodger's name every other sentence or more? It's like when Favre was there.
-
well 17-7 going into halftime and the Pukers get the ball to start the second half... so it'll be 24-7 next time the offense gets the ball.
