  1. We can say that's just the Bears, but they have different people running it now, so I don't think it's the same. IMO, I think fans have to have instant success or it's burn it down. I think Poles is smart and want to see how his plan turns out. Not saying he's going to be successful but he's the one they hired. I'm giving him the third year before I jump into the burn it down group. I feel that's fair, rarely does anyone rebuild a franchise in 2 years.
  2. Chapter 6: They don't care what half of the fan base thinks.
  3. Now that Caleb has declared for the draft, the better he looks in the pre draft process, the bigger haul we can get if we trade the pick. Also think it will have a bigger impression on whether Poles drafts him or not. Poles is still in the rebuilding process so I don't think it's a given he takes a QB with that pick. Not sure either way he decides is a bad decision, either choice is going to be a positive for the future. I don't have a big ego so if he doesn't do what I want, I'll be okay with it. He's the one that got hired as the GM, they didn't even consider my application.
  4. It's okay, we all don't have to agree on everything. It's just my opinion.
  5. The OC choose will be a sign of what decision he goes at QB.
  6. It's easily the Bears not making the playoffs. Apparently most fans thought a 3-14 was going to make a run for the playoffs or they wouldn't want to be blowing up the team in its second year of a 4 year rebuild. I was probably the only one on this website that thought they could end up a winning team. Optimize gone wrong. Truth be told if a few games went differently we could have been in the playoffs. A young coach, young QB, many young players. Poles never thought that, he seen disappointment, yet progress. He set the team up to have the most impact ful off-season in recent history. But now all of a sudden he doesn't know what he's doing because he didn't do what half the fan base wants by retaining a coach. His choice at QB will make 50% of fan base happy and the other half calling for his job. Thank God he doesn't let fans affect what choices he makes. He would probably be selling cars somewhere in New York. He does what he thinks is best and his job is at stake in his vision of the team. I trust his judgement whether it's my choices or not.
  7. Apparently Poles likes his food under cooked.
  8. Clearly Zak is a good QB but not great. Belichick may be there and tell him who he wants.
  9. Williams got his rise to fandom having a great 2022 and winning the H trophy. Looked good in 2023 but against top 10 teams not so much. Holds the ball a long time and fumbles a lot similar to Justin, but people still say he's generational. I will let Poles make the deep dive and tell us if that's true. Or not. We don't get to see the other stuff but look at stats and get starry eyed , Poles will. The only thing that bothers me from the rumors I've heard is his dad getting involved and saying they want part of a franchise. That tells me ego problem on the horizon.
  10. Thinking that myself. He's flamboyant enough to react emotionally and do that.
  11. One time a guy in a band told me, if you ask 10 women to f***, 9 will slap you , one will say hell yeah. I agree comparing the two states nothing. The Bagent scenario does make one statement, if you taylor the calls to your QB, you will notice better results.
  12. I know this sounds stupid but do you think the fact Patrick was out contributed to the OL performance? One and one , I doubt it but he makes the line calls .It could have been a factor. (GB)
  13. Poles hired Flus, why would he abandon him after 2 years of a 4 year plan? Poles knows he was going to lose a few years before his rebuild starts showing results. Poles created the situation for Flus to not be successful. If owners expected GMs and coaches to be expected to win in two years, they would only give them 2 year contracts. He sees progress and a team that loves their coach. When Sweat got here he made light of that saying it wasn't like that in Washington. Everyone wants to compare coaches to be best case comparisons. Reality is it's a struggle to win in the NFL. Is Blelichick or Harbaugh better choices? Of course they are, but their not coming here.
  14. Of course he would be more successful, maybe he wouldn't be at the level of Mahomes but how many are. It would be difficult if he didn't show the ability to do those things, but his problem is consistently. Several games he played well. If you watched Stroud they rolled him out as much as he was in the pocket, A lot of underneath throws. The OC put him in a better position to be successful. If we had Slovak here we wouldn't be having this conversation. In 2024 we will find out the QB Justin can become, whether here or somewhere else. Smarter people will be in charge of him. His first year was a total waste, then he gets a system OC that wants him to sit in the pocket 80% of the time. That wasn't working very well, so he did more roll outs, RPOs, and play action. Addressed his ability to run and he looked better. Then 2023 , Getsy stuck him back in the pocket. We need a OC that can be flexible. He got fired for that reason. I would never say he's a tier one QB, he's not, but a QB with enough talent to win in this league. A perfect example of a QB not living up to standards is Tua. They figured out how to put him in a better spot to succeed. A better coach, talent around him. TaDa.
  15. Justin was clearly a better prospect than Love coming out. Love sat 3 yrs and got a good coach in LeFuer. GB has consistently had good OLs too. Wonder if Fields got the same circumstances, how he would like right now.
  16. I was thinking the same thing, plus we played them at home that was their advantage.
  17. Bowers is probably going to have an impact on whatever team he goes to. There's. 10 really good WRS in the draft, only one TE.
  18. I have read a few articles on him (Barton) and he is strong at point of attack and played OC in high school and he's freshman year. They moved him around because of his talent. He would be a perfect surprise pick by Poles.
  19. I seen where several so called experts said there was 15-17 blue chip players in this draft. There's always a few that disappoint and several lower picks that find success. Draft are always crap shoots. I think Poles is as a talent evaluator.
  20. Me and 54 always got along. I only care that we win, since Flus is here I totally want him successful. Don't care about petty stuff.
  21. I think all the upper ranked OLs have two blue chip players and the rest above average players. They grow together and build commonality. Jenkins ( often injured) and Wright will be our studs. Add a high end center and we start to be more consistent. I think the issues with Davis was a slow start when his mom died and never got his act together. This year will be much better.
  22. Not sure how accurate it is but several simulators have Zinter ranked low which seems normal with injury recovery figured in. We need a starting OC and another OG and OT to compete and keep building depth.
  23. All that is interesting. I think it's easy to find some stats that can make whatever narrative you wish to push. Several things can be true at the same time. Justin can still have a high ceiling and Caleb can be a star also. I still think Poles takes Williams if he thinks he's a Joe Burrow type. He may still be roster building mode and thinks he can add another QB in the next two years. Literally no one knows what Poles is going to do. That's why this conversation is so passionate at times.
  24. We will never know so it creates speculation. The difference from last year is Warren. This is him starting to flex his muscle on him taking control of everything Bears. He will slowly get more involved as he learns the ropes.
