Bad News Bears
If we end up having a losing season then he will be gone and deserves to but ever time we lose its(fire the coach, fire the OC). Bear fans seem to want to fire by the end of quarters, not end of games. Its over reaction city all the time. Last time I checked we still have a winning record with a rookie QB. CW contributed to the loss and potenial win but that's what you get with a rookie QB. We STILL have one of the better defenses in the league that is credited to Flus. We still have a good culture, that could change if we rack up losses but we arent there yet.

You lose the locker room when you stop trying for a coach. So a 5 game losing streak on the horizon?

NFC North Update
Negative energy attracts negative results, thats why pushing a winning attitude is so important and having these character guys in hew locker room. It takes time . Last yeat we finished 6-3, and are 4-3. We are starting to turn the energy.

Saying they didnt like some play decisions doesnt mean he has lost the locker room. Flus has always had open dialouge with the team. This team lost all those games and hug together, a few bad play calls aint stating a mutiny. At 4-3 we can still have a winning season but if we some way lose any of the next 2 games we may be headed that way. I was the only idiot on here that said we could win 12 games. If I remember most people were 9-10 wins, we are still on course for that. JJ and DJ both said they have regular captains meetings every week. This is not the Titantic, every time it hits something its not sinking. IF we win the next 2 games 6-3 is not a bad spot to be in. I get the impression people think we are SF and favored to go the SB at 3-4. The main function this year is to develop CW and we are doing that. CW played bad so every little thing that happened got blown up. I was impressed as bad as we played we were winning with 2 seconds left. Our defense is real , Wash was the second leading scoring team in the league until they played us. At home 4 FGs is a real stat , then a miracle passing TD , and they still only scored only 18 points with that. AZ has a lot of weapons but I have no doubt they only score around 20 points. No matter what happens Flus aint being fired during the season, if he keeps making bad decisions, Poles will deal with it after the season is over.

I agree with that, he tries to be positive and avoids a Olin Kruetz moment when sometimes that's what we need. Its always a bad taste when you ponder over a lose and look to who to blame. Everyone contributed to this loss. So what positives come from this? The most important positive is CW played very bad and got it together at the end of the game, not once but twice, to give us the lead, that's a very worthy look at him playing well in prime time. No matter what happens, its about the developement of the QB. That is happens in real time for us. The injuries on the OL did not help our cause but we limped thru it.

I just watched a video where the clock operator in the last 52 seconds of the game, allowed the clock to not run on four plays that it should have been running. Literally at least allowed 12 seconds to be given to Washington to have the last drive to happen. I will try to post it when i get back from the Chiro. On one play they put 2 seconds back on the play instead of subtracting 3 to 4 seconds off of the clock. I get they some times adjust the clock in the final seconds but 4 times in 52 seconds?

The best comment ever made on Flus was your (not giving us a positive edge on winning). I like Flus but I think this is the first strike in him going away after this year. He is a great DC but leaves lots of questions on the HC job. I get he gives the OC a lot of leway on calling plays but the Kramer play should have never happened . You use that play in a blowout win, not a critical part of a must win game. CW played bad and redeemed himself at the end of the game and we couldnt even celebrate that because of the Hail Mary play.We would have much better of a team if we never had a bye week to stay focused. Clearly we were out of sorts with a week off. So does this kind of loss propel us to playing angry the rest of the year or kick our ass? Time will tell.

When you lose everyone takes shots. On the last play, two people were held that allowed Daniels to make that throw. One DB is suppose to play behind everyone(called the Savior) to prevent that play from happening. The last play was on the DB. Lots of blame to go around: CW played terrible Somec bad play calls Flus made some bad decisions. We have a top 5 defense, 4 FGs for the second best scoring team until the Hail Mary The OL had some bad play and 2 starters were gone. I totally accepted a loss until the last 5 minutes gave me hope. We took the lead with seconds left and the game blow up.We didnt deserve to win but we were 2 seconds away from a victory. I think we will win and lose on the basis of the developement of our rookie QB. We are just not there yet.

Its being reported that Daniels will be playing today. I'm all for it. I want Billings to fall on him and watch him limp to the sidelines.

Velus and Blasingame being released
They have to make room for several players coming back which is good for our depth. Dont sit on Martin, he looked quick in the preseason before he got hurt. The big question coming is Bates better than either Shelton or Pryor.

Bill would have a different take if he only watched the last 2 games as you suggest. Washingtons Ss arent great and a few completions on the outside and CW would screw with their minds. Allen and Kmet in the middle of the field would kill them.

I mean more 3 LBer sets instead of 70% nickel. Daniels wont be playing (probably not but if playing injured may restrict him in the running game.)

We have more depth in the DB group over any other grouping. We will be fine. Play Jack Sanborn more to push back on the run.

NFC North Update
Will everyone be okay with a 2-1 record over the next 3 weeks or do we have to win all 3? 6-3 still would still be in line for a WC spot, its important that we go 3-3 in our division .

Good news all of our top 4 Ss are signed for next year. We should be drafting Ss and CBs every year but our top picks need to be OL and DL. Brisker is a valuable asset and will be here thru 2025. We can deal with replacing him as we see how his history plays out.

Maxx Crosby...
Okay I understand your opinion, what do we do to fix not only RG and C but now LG. 2 spots wont be easy but 3 make it a rough job. Bates may very well save the Center spot but we dont know that yet. There is limited options in free agency next year for young and ascending, plenty of old guys. I doubt very much he drafts 3 starting OL in the first 3 rounds. If he brings back Jenkins even if he only plays 12 games at least it gives time for a rookie to develop or someone like Bill Murray to get vaiuable starts. We have only 4 OLmen signed for next year and 3 are OTs. How do we fix it?

The spread is just reacting to the injury, if they say he is playing by Sat, the spread will move. The strongest group of the game is our defense. I expect us to keep them arounf 20 points. TOs will matter, on the rad penalties will matter, CW play will matter. Brandon Allen is out for the year that will help our offense. Most games will come down to the end of the game, CW should make a difference in the 4th quarter.

Maxx Crosby...
Nate Davis is the example of a free agent that failed, more player stories of failing that surprise in free agency. If Jenkins plays most of the games going forward, I would bring him back at a team friendly contract. Draft a rookie and have him in place if he keeps getting hurt. There are no top guards available this offseason that are young. The only above average centers is Connor Williams and he isnt playing well. I trust Bill Murray more than who would be available. Draft OLs and sort it out.

Maxx Crosby...
It pivoted from Crosby because that is a pipe dream and went to spending money on the OL where we need it the most.

Maxx Crosby...
Jenkins injury history will follow him to free agency. I see Poles giving him a 3-20 mil contract with game starts tied to bonuses. He will bring someone in to compete at that spot (rookie?) . Its like the Braxton situation, if you get better you start, if not, here comes Kiwan. Free agents are sketchy, see Nate Davis, above average player that bombed. He will more likely bring in Billings type players at a small price and roll the dice. He will lean to the draft to find starters in the middle. Bates is signed thru next year so he will start at some point in time but he is a question mark. I think 2 of our first 3 picks are OL. We have to keep in mind we have a QB, when fully developed can make the OL look better with a quick release and quick decisions.

Caleb Williams QBR Tracker
Stats can be misleading, Mahomes hasnt played well yet the Chiefs are 6-0, they have a great coach and good defense , everything matters.

Maxx Crosby...
Of course we could use an upgrade on the DL but with some flashes from Taylor, Walker playing well and Booker developing, I dont think Poles brings in a huge contract to disrupt the cap situation. We need thatcap space to get some OL next year and resign Allen on a team friendly contract. If Braxton doesnt get better, Poles drated Kiwan A. to take his place and Jones becomes the swing tackle. Wright has stuggled but still has a high ceiling. If Jenkins can stay healthy, I think Poles brings him back. We have 2 positions to fill on the OL. Once Bates gets on the field we will see if he is what Poles thinks he is. He is signed for next year also. He can be plugged in ar RG or OC depending on who else comes here. If he adds a FA and drafts a couple OL, our OL will be fine going forward.

Official Week 7 Bye Week Open Thread
Every year is different but the end of last year we should have beat Detroit twice and lost 17-9 to GB , beat Minny. We competed with those teams last year and will again this year. By the time we get to division , we my have the best QB playing. Darnold is pedestrian, Goff can be raddled an Love likes to turn over the ball. We seemed to be blessed this year with injures( none serious so far) and other teams are losing players. The schedule was given to us to develop a rookie QB and he is getting better. I think we win all of our home games this year that would put us at least 3-3 in the divsion. So far we are 8-0 with the end of last season. I think we end up with a winning record and could be playoff bound. Jayden Daniels hurt could be benifical but I prefer he plays.
