  1. This the way I look at it. They brought in DTs, LBers, LTs and one starting Safety. Also added a WR with Walker expected to contribute. No DE. They have to find a starting S , otherwise we have players everywhere else. I think they bring a S maybe two, a DE and DT. Could be any other positions applying the BPA theory. My preference, trade back from 25 5 to 10 spots and get an extra top 100 pick. In any order they have their board laid out. Jacas , Parker , Young, D- Sutton , Lawrence, Moore. DE Stukes , Kilgore, Ramsey, Bud Clark. Payne S Miller, Halton, Benny, Proctor, Capehart DT Parker, Slaughter, Jones, Hecht, Kuhn C Tienen, Shelton, Bowery JC Davis LT Hill, Trotter, Louis, Perkins, Boettcher, Rolder LB Tacario Davis, Muhammad, Neal, Demming CB These are players that could fit our scheme. IMO
  2. For last year it was stated by a few pundits that everyone we drafted, we had a visit with. If true some were not reported and keep quiet, maybe by design. The OL coach stated in an interview that some prospects were brought in because they had questions. The answer could be not to draft them. They can have local and regional players in and not have to report. Some prospects that come in could be told not to mention. When they draft then we can follow up to see if came in for a visit. Poles is good at keeping secrets. That's why I never believe anyone has inside information. I think people just guessing.
  3. He will surprise me if he takes a CB or LB at 25. I would expect S, DE, DT and even LT. We could upgrade any position but QB and IOL with the first pick but some spots carry more expectations. As long as we add a DT, DE and S , adding anything else is okay with me.
  4. If they draft a Urlacker type LB, I m all in but who is that? Edwards will probably be gone after this year but Demarco Jackson is probably his replacement to go with Bush. Every year we should draft every position but we don't have enough picks for that. I think 1 DE, 1 DT , 1 S, 1 CB, 1 WR, 1 RB, and a C . If we get extra picks, then a LB will be addressed but I don't think it will be a priority in this draft. Hyppolite is counted on to improve, if not then we draft another one.
  5. Their are several available and most are third round and latter. He doesn't have to start right away, so they will decide the upside. I like the 2 tackles that will project to center. Kuhn and Parker, bigger bodies. It could be a 7th round James Brockermeyer.
  6. This is usually the busiest time of the year on this site. This year is a little different because we finally won. Rumors do get morbid but draft time always attracts my attention.
  7. This draft will be graded by what rookies made first year contributions, not 3 years from now. The first 3 picks have to contribute. A safety will start, A DE will be rotational anyways. Same for DT. A LT will probably need to develop, a center will be a future starter. Unless Edwards isn't healthy, a LB wouldn't be a starter right away. A high CB pick would be the 4th or 5th CB to start. WR would be the 6 th pass catcher, RB third on the depth chart. Because we didn't get the comp pick, 75% chance we move back instead of forward. Last year there were 3 trades between 25 and 32. Many teams always want to get there guy and reach late in the first round.
  8. Bradbury didn't have a penalty or give up a sack last year. To many people gage players by PFF ratings. By next year, no one will notice Dalman was gone.
  9. I watch a lot of podcasts, bears related, and it bugs me with all these pundits that think they're experts on draft prospects. How much actual time do they put in evaluating prospects? I think they read a lot of other people's information and then they watch 4 or 5 games? Hundreds of prospects they can't have the time to do that. People like Dane Brugler actually has a network and puts in the time so I trust his opinion more. I don't agree with everything and he's not always accurate but has more input to make better evaluations. I'll watch 2 or 3 games and highlights films but no way I think I'm smarter than the people that put in the time. Also a lot of people use PFF for much of their view. PFF has some input but you just can't use that for perspective. It's funny to me that Dane rates a player at 49 and then some pundits think they are 25 valued. Some may very well put in the time but it's hard to figure out who is guessing and who actually does it. I keep everyone's opinions at bay but trust a few over most other people. I think the bears are more in on some of their own players than most of the fandom. Example, they will count on Turner much more than fans that write him off because he was injured. So when I evaluate I figure what they have and who they might pick.
  10. This rumor is false, we did not contact the Giants. It was started by a Packers fan trolling the fandom. Lots brought in to it.
  11. Never thought of watching last year draft. Good idea. I think unless a top 20 player drops, we trade back for that extra top 100 pick. Basically 20 to 75 are all in the same talent scope. Now some will emerge and some won't pan out. Poles could draft a player at 57 that could be top 40 value, stuff like that. It's about identifying talent and by last year results is looking like they know what their doing. Do not count out Turner, Hyppolite, or Frazier. I think Newman has already shown some talent to maybe be a starter when our IOL move on. Also players like Dushon Wright, Demarco Jackson, Walker, Theo, McFadden all contributed with no expectations.
  12. Many people think his is the most prolific draft guide. He's not 100% perfect but he gives you lots of information that gives you a good look at prospects. I looked at his top 100 and unless players like Theinaman, Faulk drop we will probably stay at 25 but I totally think when we didn't get the comp pick, we will be trading back. Lots of good players of need in the second round range. I think S, DE, CB and DT are in play. Drop back and Young, Lawrence, and Jacas are in play. After the first 2 Ss, Stukes, Bud Clark and Kilgore are in play late in that round. I think DT will be scheme fit over NT types . Those are in third round territory. Halton, Kaleb Proctor, Zane Durant and Rene Konga
  13. Agree with most your takes. I read Danes profile on Proctor and he is not a instant day one starter. Being drafted that high will make him one but has raw traits and will take a year to develop his skills. If he has to be developed, I don't see us taking as a short term player, although long term he could have pro bowl upside. People talk about BPA but when teams do their big board, needs are taken in to account. Let's say a #4 WR is there and. #5 DE, I think they would choose a need.
  14. How will this defense look if every position has speed injected? I looked up Sweat and didn't realize he ran a 4.42 40. Gervon Dexter ran a 4.88 40. Grady Jarrett 5.06 40 Austin Booker 4.79 40 We already have some speed on the line and Jarrett will be gone after this year. Very interested to see DA run his defense.
  15. That makes sense. Or just drop rule all together. They should be forced to honor the policy or change it.
  16. The new name some bears fans want is Dexter Lawrence.. He had 1/2 sack last year. The next two years he will get 54 mil at 29 and the reason he wants to be traded is he wants more money. He is a better player than any DT we have but at 6'4" and 330. Ran a 5 05 40. Not sure that fits the new speed scheme.
  17. I have seen some pundits say he will play S in the pros? I think he is too small for that. What say you

So far: Jager Burton/ center Kayden McDonald/ NT Zion Young/ edge De'Zfaun Stribling/WR Jimmy Rolder/ LB Seth McGowan/RB Antererio Washington/DT Max Iheanachor/RT Brian Parker/OL/C Dan Villari/TE James Brockermeyer/center Jimmy Rolder/LB This is all I can find so far. Anyone know of anyone else? It has been reported that they only bring in players that they have questions about. Then decide if they don't or do want them. It has been reported that every pick we took last year came in for a visit. Also they are not required to report all visits and tell some agents not to talk about it. Local school and Chicago people get to come in that don't get applied to the 30 visit list unless they want to. I don't think any 30 visit is a smoke screen action. I think they may like or dislike a player and we don't know the answer. So far 3 centers and 3 DL if that may disclose positions of interest.
  19. I still think they're a good old boys network of owners that participate in the league but the new ones control it. This decision is very bad but it's more of the league having a power trip than being against the bears. The referee situation is bad and discriminates against bad teams and in favor good times. Bears are consistently bad so it takes hits. I love conspiracies but this isn't going on in the NFL.
  20. I saw that post too. All of Poles first round picks have been 22 and younger except one at 23. Messidor is probably the best pure pass rusher that could be there late round but he will be 27 next Jan in his first year. I just don't see it. I just don't think he is drafting anyone that will be 25 or older his year. Parker, Young, Jacas and Lawrence fit most of the scheme traits but all seem more like 2 nd round picks to me. Although Parker and Young may go first round. The DT class doesn't really have any high prospects that have high pass rush ability. McDonald and Woods may be good players be to me not first round worthy with limited pass rush skills. Because we didn't get the comp pick, I definitely think we drop out of 25. The second round seems like the sweet spot to take an Edge rusher or run support DT. I think we end up getting 3 picks in the second round. I don't see us taking any older players or pass rush specialist there either. One prospect if drops to 25 I think we consider is Faulk. 20 years old, great size and speed but didn't have a good senior year. People say coaching changes affected that. Malachi Lawrence keeps dropping and could be first round. Great speed and got better every year. Note that Jacas workout he ran a 4.69.
  21. Caleb was the only pick everyone actual knew we were going to pick. Otherwise Poles is full of surprises. For what I understand DA likes is versatile players he can move in an out. Ss that can play up and back. Speed at LB to cover side to side. He likes length, speed and aggressive play. I think Bryant and Bush are those types. Gallimore is that type. Turner fits his mold. I think he had input in bringing in Dayo, Tall DE with long arms that can play in or out. I think when looking at prospects, we find those traits first at those positions. At DE Faulk, Parker, Jacas just ran a 4 .69 40 in a workout. Zion Young? Dennis -Sutton is that type. At DT Woods fits but have heard he has put on 35 lbs since he finished playing games. Don't know if true or what that means. The NTs doesn't fit his type IMO. Gracen Halton, Zane Durant and Kaleb Proctor does. At S it's Theinaman, Bud Clark, VJ Payne and Robert Spears -Jennings. If a mixed review on whether McNeil - Warren is that type. He lacks the long speed but players can make up for that with awareness and short area quickness. A few pundits have compared him to Brisker and we didn't retain him. I'm not sure on McN- Warren. A prospect that interests me is Treydan Stukes can play CB or both S spots. He has moved up draft boards probably is the second round now.
  22. The rule is ( to get promoted) and that happened. Now they add to the description ( top football guy). It hurts no other team, just extra picks for promoting a minority canadate. It insane they are taking this stance. The bears should sue them over this. It will force them to give us the picks or dump the policy. The NFL brass won't like that but it's not like they are doing us any favors now.
  23. More draft stuff
  24. Looked this guy up, a 10.00 on the RAS score. Run a 4.66 at 306 lbs. 39" vertical. 10'10" BJ . That's insane. AND 35.75 inch arms It sounds like a Poles third round pick.
