Brandon Marshall is a Bear
Bummer. He would have been a nice signing and I figured he'd have been interested (in the right price). That of course assumes the Bears had interest.

Wyche
Nothing available in FA. If there was, the Bears would offer them the moon.

landry to visit
Have the Bears cut Meriweather yet? Or was he just a 1yr deal? I don't remember.

landry to visit
He's a good player. Makes a lot of sense at the right price. Definitely not a guaranteed starter though.

One thing to remember is Winston is a RT. Carimi is supposedly an RT. Not sure how much sense it makes unless the Bears think one can play LT.

Wyche
Don't be shocked if the Bears eventually add Freeney (if they go the right of a Winston or Nicks/Grubbs). I say that because the latest reports seem to indicate he'll eventually get released and I think he'd like playing for lovie and the Bears defensive players. Plus he wants to win and would probably be willing to take a bit less (and a short term deal) late in his career.

Campbell signed
He was better than Carson Palmer last year and would still be the Raiders QB had he not went down. He's a really solid backup and when your total cap is around 120M, I think you can spend 3M on a good backup. Especially after we saw what happened with the Bears last year.

Update: John Carlson Signs W/Vikings
He will be visiting the Chiefs first. Biggs indicates Bears had interest, not sure if the Marshall deal impacts it.

Campbell signed
Supposedly his contract would be for around 3M. Per Jason Cole of Yahoo.

Marshall Faulk Reports
FYI. Winston is supposedly set to visit Miami later on today.
-
Campbell signed
Career record around .500. Also has a career QB rating of 82. Very very solid player. Not great but he's a really solid backup. Bears would have been in the playoffs if we had him last year.

Bears favorite for Mario
Sounds like the Bears are likely out on Williams. I figure we'll instead see them sign 2 good players to join Marshall. Also a lot of talk about the Texans clearing some more room and making a run to keep him.

Brandon Marshall is a Bear
2nd in receptions in the past 5 years, 5th in yards. Out of all wideouts.
- Campbell signed

Bears favorite for Mario
Agree. I think Carr & Wimbley is more likely. I think the Bears will than focus on the line + LB in the draft. I could be wrong though. They still might look at wideout.

Brandon Marshall is a Bear
Carr & Wimbley would be pretty nice.
-
Bears favorite for Mario
I doubt all of that happens but you never know.

Bears favorite for Mario
I'd be fine with Wimbley or a solid DE plus a CB. The Marshall move puts the Bears in a real nice place, including the fact that they no longer have to go one way vs. another in the draft. Curious to see what happens.

Brandon Marshall is a Bear
His average cap number is about 9.4M. That will be at least 2M under what Vjax will come in at. Latest reports I've seen, indicate Bears now have approximately 15M to 17M in cap space remaining (including Forte). Note: I'm not sure what the overall impact is cause there could be certain components about his contract which would potentially adjust/impact what his cap hit to the Bears is.

Bears favorite for Mario
Reports out there that Mario will be visiting the Bills tonight. That will be the first team he meets with.

Brandon Marshall is a Bear
Hell ya. 2 3rd rounders. I can get behind this. Now sign Williams.
-
Bears re-sign CB Tim Jennings
Smart move. They need help at CB but with Bowman and him FA's, you need to at least bring one of them back. I expect them to potentially look at a veteran signing and possibly even a draft pick.

V-Jack to Tampa
It was reported by Mully/Hanley as a rumor.
-
The REAL cap space
And other reports in chicago have reported completely different amounts recently. PFT has its info just as other people have there's. I have seen the detail supporting the other numbers and believe the PFT numbers are incorrect and I think the signings the Bears make will support such.

V-Jack to Tampa
I don't think Briggs will be cut. Worse case the Bears deal him for a 3rd round pick. I still think Briggs will be a Bear another few years and that Peppers, Urlacher, and if it happens, Williams, can find a way to make Briggs happy.
