Agree with you both!

How does it work? Does the entire first round not occur today?

I know a lot of people don't like Baldwin, but he seems like a big, physical receiver that Cutler would really benefit by having. The hard part is, we also need oline help. However, I could live with Baldwin. The question is going to be whether he's fast enough to get open and what his work ethic is. The size and physical skills appear to be there. Can he become a polished route-runner, have great hands, and create enough seperate, time will tell. The one key is, only one of those things requires physical ability (seperation), the rest is all about how much time you put into your craft.

Its kind of weird. But with the lockout looming and there being so little "real" NFL news I haven't paid much attention to thinks. Completely forgot the draft starts up tomorrow.
-
I wonder if we'd end up getting dissapointed. He's had one really good year and it was with a kick ass Favre at the helm (no denying that 2 years ago, Favre was really really good).
-
I'm ok with all of the above.
-
Makes a lot of sense. He's a quality veteran and a good guy and I think he'll have a rebound season. Plus at 1.25M there is just no risk to keeping him.
-
I don't quite see why we would cut him. He's a classy guy that had a down year, but I'd say I like his track record and think he has something left. Plus, we have him at a bargain rate.

Very cool stuff.

Admins...can we take down the pinned GB/CHI thread?

I'm ok with that. Lovie is a good solid football coach and I think he's capable of bringing a superbowl to Chicago!

I want to add in a random fact. Type 1 diabetics are told they should not(only in a worse case situation would they) take cortisone shots. A local radio show out here had a doctor on talking about it. Geeze, guy goes out and plays 3 series on a torn MCL (grade 2 sprain) without any pain killers. Thats a f***ing man!
-
And why wouldn't you want Manning back?
-
I actually thought that was a beautifully thrown ball by Cutler given he was already suffering his knee injury. Single coverage, one on one situation and he put it where Knox should have got to the high point and make the catch. Instead Shields made an absolutely beautiful defensive play, one only a converted wideout could make (at least the pick part of it), imo.
-
Where did you here this?
-
Amen!
-
Slight Correction (to add to his toughness). The man tore his MCL and played in three series after the fact before the doctors determine him medically unable to return. That is pretty tough to me and great post, completely agree.
-
Do people realize that when you have tough man Olin Kreutz and Urlacher behind you it should tell you a lot. Especially since Urlacher didn't always like Cutler. Clearly Jay had won over the lockeroom this season. How about we talk about that.
-
The National Media is so embarassing here, as are some of these arm-chair NFL players tweeting, and of course many Bears fans!
-
The Bears shit the bad. They should have had him in the lockeroom instead. But you know what, Jay tried to give it a go and couldn't plant at all (which was pretty evident watching him throw). They had no shot with him in the game.
-
He is terrible, horrible, and awful all rolled into one. He won't be back, but we at least know Hanie is a solid potential backup. Now lets hope Jay can get healthy and we can add some weapons on offense and find some young blood for our defense and get back and win it all next year!!
-
Question a torn MCL. What a bunch of idiots out there not realizing that Jay has done nothing but been tough his entire career.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...r-has-mcl-tear/ Maybe all of you people calling him soft can apologize? Cutler can get bashed for a lot of things, but "soft" isn't one of them. Oh and the national sports media doesn't like to talk about how right after Cutler's "No comment" in regards to NFL players questioning his toughness, he turned around and started to cry.

I have to bump this post and state that I’m really really happy with our coaching staff. Win or Lose on Sunday, I feel very confident about the future of this franchise. We have tremendous assistants and to me a head coach that deserves a lot of credit. I ripped on Lovie a bit the past year or two, but the reality is, he’s learning as a coach and he’s getting better. I remember 6 to 8 years ago the Steelers were in a lull and fans were ready to dump Bill Cowher. Instead they stuck with him and the Steelers turned things around. Regardless of what is going to happen on Sunday, I think the best is yet to come for the Bears under Lovie Smith. Mike Tice – Fantastic Hire; What he’s done with an inexperienced and under-talented line has been remarkable. It is funny to say but I find it hard to believe that anyone who has watched this team could come to any other conclusion other than that Tice has been marvelous and this unit has done nothing but get better. There is still a long ways to go but to see that development at the NFL level is impressive and I really hope the Bears can find ways to keep him around for at least another few years (maybe add in a Asst Head Coach/Oline coach title). Rod Marinelli – The guy is going to be a legend around Chicago and he’s already thought of as a legend on the dline (as far as dline coaches go). I don’t see him going anywhere. His players love him, but he holds them accountable and has done a great job game planning. Truly an asset and I think he’ll develop a reputation as a tremendous dcoord over the next 5 to 10 years. Bob Babich – Not going to comment much, but our linebackers have played tremendous. Part of that is obviously the ridiculous talent they have, but Babich is involved in the game plan and while he struggled as a DC, I can’t gripe having a LB coach who has experience calling plays around. Mike Martz – Wow. The guy is innovative and brilliant and he’s done great things for Jay. Jay has matured and our offense has gotten better by and large each and every week. Martz isn’t going anywhere for at least another year and I expect our offense to grow exponentially next year (when everyone has a year under there belts). Getting some continuity for Cutler is huge and Martz has done a real nice job. Toub – What else do you have to say. The guy is money at what he does. This is the best coaching unit I’ve had the experience to see as a Bears fan and I’m proud to know we’ll have this unit next year as well and hopefully for a while longer. I’m confident they’ll game plan and make adjustments and this team will be prepared to play on Sunday. The Packers might be the more talented team but the more talented team doesn’t always win (see Minny/Dallas/etc). Lets kick some ass Chicago and either way, I’m proud of this team and I’m proud of our coaching staff!!! They’ve done a great job this year. But keep winning and make us Bear fans even prouder!!!

I don't know why, but thinking of Ted reminded me of that one pick Keith Traylor had (I think against Denver). One of the most entertaining plays I've ever witnessed. Note: It was against the Jaguars. Below is a link to the video.
