Even in drills, he has been noticeably faster/stronger. He was dealing with an injury all last year and it is clearly better than it was.

After seeing the analysis of the first week of TC, it really seems like the team is content on Dalton starting and allowing Fields to get more experience before getting thrown into the fire. It will be curious to see how the team handles him compared to JAX, SF, NYJ, and NE, all who drafted 1st round QBs. An interesting note, Mac Jones has looked better than Newton early on, which is impressive going to a team like NE.

This is a great first test with some joint practices. Those are always fun to see. Miami is very similar to the Bears, they finished 10-6, had a top 10 defense and a top 20 offense. The Bears had a slightly better defense and slightly worse offense. I think we have the edge on both sides of the ball this year. I would take the Bears units every time, thoughts? Tua/Brissett vs Dalton/Fields Gaskin/Brown vs Monty/Williams/Cohen Parker/Fuller/Waddle vs ARob/Mooney/Goodwin Gesicki/Shaheen vs Kmet/Graham/James

Vildor is also getting snaps across from Johnson. Nichols has been dominant and Quinn is getting to the QB. Those are good signs. This defense is going to be legit. For the offense, I don't think we have had a QB room this good ever. Foles is QB3 and could start on some teams. Dalton looks like the solid vet and Fields is turning heads while still learning. A great problem to have. My hope is they can flip Foles to NYJ or now IND for a mid-round pick and clear some cap space. Monty and Arob are faster, and Mooney, Byrd, and Goodwin are smoking fast. Fields is loving his TEs. Kmet and James making a lot of plays. This offense is probably the best we have had since Marshall, Jeffery, Forte, Bennett. I know the O-Line is a concern, but this offense is going to score more and the defense is going to allow less. I a figure a 3 point swing overall. That is probably good for 2-3 wins. So 10-11 wins seems like the target. Vegas at 7.5 seems like some easy money.

Gents about 10 days until GM confirmation. We need 3 more to respond and make payment. If you know anyone in the league, please remind them. I am starting to send out reminders via email. Confirmed/Paid: Adam, Andrew, Ary, Brad, Duane, David, and Kam Not Confirmed/Unpaid: Jason, Steve (Mongo), and Nopper.

The same thing could've happened if the Bears drafted a CB, kept Leno and he got injured. I don't think this situation is any different. I would rather have them exercise caution than try to make him play thru it and he gets worse. It might take a few weeks, but we still have about 6 weeks until the regular season. Once teams start cutting their rosters, I am sure the Bears will pick someone else up for insurance.

Hardy is a camp body for sure.
-
"Last Dance" when you never won crap together lol. It will really set the Bears up for a long, extended run, starting next year. No Rodgers or Adams in Fields 2nd year. Watch out NFL!
-
We won't have any comp picks next year as we signed Dalton, Blackson, and Attaochu and lost RRH, Patterson, and Trubisky.
-
We now have the following: 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 5th (HOU), 6th 1st and 4th to NYG for Fields, 7th to HOU with Miller.
-
Boom, at least they met my minimum lol.

James definitely comes in as the lead TE3. He has a lot of upside as a pass catcher compared to Dion Sims and Harris. He may be our best blocking TE in quite some time. Butt has dealt with injuries but came into the league as a mid-level prospect. It seems like Holtz, Horsted, and Butt will compete for the final roster spots.
-
He fills the need for a true blocking TE and now makes the TE room really solid with Kmet, Graham, Butt, and James.
-
So they can be activated any time during camp, however, if it goes into the season, he will have to miss the first 6 weeks of the season. It looks like Dazz Newsome will also be on the PUP list for training camp. Hopefully, he will get back in a few weeks because the Bears have preseason games in 3-5 weeks.
-
Looks like it was a pick swap, hopefully we at least got a 5th for him and only gave up a 7th.

9 receptions in the last 5 games (including playoff game). He has been a non factor most of his career. They were not resigning or extending and with players reporting this week, it makes sense. Goodwin and Byrd are both better. Get something for him, just wish it was before or during the draft. What a waste of a 2nd round pick.

The Rodgers drama, now Davante Adams? This may all end up being nothing, but both of them could be gone after this year. I never saw this coming. I didn't realize he was a year older than ARob. I also didn't realize Adams has only had 2x 1000 yd seasons. He is a TD machine, but has only hit 100 receptions and 100 yards twice. The fact that they offered Rodgers a 2-yr extension to make him the league's highest paid player also speaks volumes about how they really feel about Jordan Love.

With 17 game season, it's a must. We need a front 7 rotation outside of Roquan. On offense, the same thing, don't kill Monty if Williams can do similar things.

BOOM FACTOR INITIATED!!!!
-
Are you sure you want to give up a 10th Rounder for him?
-
Another year of Gipson back there with Jackson, which will be useful. People forget that Gipson didn't have an offseason due to Covid, so he should be better, which will also make Jackson better. I think the entire secondary will be better without Pagano.
-
I can't think of another player or QB that has had this much of an impact before ever playing a single down. He is doing and saying all the right things; I'm really still shocked we drafted him.
-
Great news, with him the front 7 is a top 5 unit.

10th by overall value and 12th by AAV: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/contracts/sort-value/running-back/limit-30/ I am seeing $1.75M left in 2023 and $3.5M left in 2022. I guess it just depends on how you view him in this offense. I just hope he didn't lose any agility or change of direction ability as that was his only A+ trait.

So here is a list of the recent WR leaders in receptions and yards with their career AV and games played, and an average value per game. Robinson comes in at #17. From the top 20 players in receptions, Robinson had the 16th best QB rating and was 21st in TDs, and only Marvin Jones had a lower YAC AVG than Robinson (39th) in the top 40. Robinson only had 319 YAC. So if you strictly go off receptions, ARob has been a top 10 WR, for yards, top 15, and TDs, top 20. So just with those numbers, you can say he should be paid between 10-15 which still comes in higher than his AV rating at #17. Jones AV 119, G 135 .882 (signed for $22M AAV) Thomas AV 60, G 70 .857 (signed for $19.25M AAV) Hill AV - 62, G 74 .838 (signed for $18M AAV) ----------------------------------------------- AJ Brown AV 23, G 30 .767 Jefferson AV 12, G 16 .750 --------------------------------------------- Diggs AV 61, G 86 .709 (signed for $14.4M AAV) Beckham AV 57, G 82 .695 (signed for $18M AAV) Metcalf AV 21, G 32 .656 Cooks AV 66, G 103 .641 (signed for $16.2M AAV) Allen AV 63, G 100 .630 (signed for $20M AAV) Hopkins AV 79, G 126 .627 (signed for $27.3M AAV) Adams AV 62, G 100 .620 (signed for $14.5M AAV) Evans AV 65, G 106 .613 (signed for $16.5M AAV) ---------------------------------------- Kupp AV 31, G 54 .574 (signed for $15.75M) Ridley AV 25, G 44 .568 DJ Moore AV 26, G 46 .565 Robinson AV 48, G 88 .545 (Franchise $17.8M AAV) Smith-Schuster AV 31, G 58 .534 (signed for $8M AAV) Cooper AV 49, G 93 .527 (signed for $20M AAV) Lockett AV 50, G 95 .526 (signed for $17.25M AAV) Landry AV 57, G 111 .514 (signed for $15.1M AAV) Golladay AV 24, G 47 .511 (signed for $18M AAV) Woods AV 59, G 116 .508 (signed for $16.25 AAV) ----------------------------------------- Thielen AV 48, G 105 .457 (signed for $16M AAV) So I can understand their concern. Can they afford to pay him as one of the top two tiers when he is performing more in the 3rd and 4th tier?
