Mongo, My thought process on the speedy receiver is that you won't have time to hit him deep if you don't fix the OLine. Also, Trubisky's deep ball accuracy is questionable, so would that WR even get that many chances? That is why I was leaning TE early. We had the lowest production from our TE's in the entire league. Our leading TE had 14 receptions on the year, the leading yardage was 91, and the group totaled 2 TDs. They were historically bad. Over anything else, one characteristic of both teams in the SB are their elite TEs (Kittle and Kelce). For me, if you had two equally rated players in the 2nd round, one a speedy WR and another a TE, I would go for the TE. Now, I am all for getting one in the draft, just not in the 2nd round.

Here is one from Walter Football: 43. Chicago Bears: Terrell Lewis, DE/OLB, Alabama The Bears need some edge-rushing depth, especially considering that Leonard Floyd will be entering free agency soon. Terrell Lewis was once a staple of my 2019 NFL Mock Draft, but he returned to school after an injury-plagued 2018 campaign. 50. Chicago Bears: Jalen Reagor, WR, TCU The Bears could add another receiver to start across from Allen Robinson. Jalen Reagor is a blazing-fast receiver who can go the distance whenever he touches the ball. So Edge and WR? Lewis was ranked #49 in Jeremiah's top 50, and Reagor was not listed. I understand the thought process, but we seem to have bigger holes to fill than Edge and WR. To me, TE and OL, and even SS seem higher.

If you get silly with trades, there is endless fun. Your score is: 38184 (GRADE: A-) Your Picks: Round 2 Pick 24 (MIA): Brycen Hopkins, TE, Purdue (A-) Round 3 Pick 1 (CINN): Darryl Williams, C/OG, Mississippi State (A) Round 3 Pick 8 (ARI): Anthony Gordon, QB, Washington State (A-) Round 3 Pick 12 (T.B.): Antoine Winfield Jr., FS/SS, Minnesota (A-) Round 4 Pick 1 (CINN): Calvin Throckmorton, OT, Oregon (A+) Round 4 Pick 8 (ARI): Lloyd Cushenberry III, C, LSU (A+) Round 4 Pick 41 (COMP): Antonio Gandy-Golden, WR, Liberty (A+) Round 4 Pick 43 (PHI): Ben Bartch, OT, St. John's (A+) Round 5 Pick 13: DeMarkus Acy, CB, Missouri (A+) Round 5 Pick 19 (JAX): KJ Hill, WR, Ohio State (A+) Round 6 Pick 10 (JAX): Harrison Bryant, TE, Florida Atlantic (A+) Round 6 Pick 17: Jeffrey McCulloch, OLB, Texas (A+) Round 6 Pick 21: Corey Bethley, DT, TCU (A+) Round 6 Pick 27 (JAX): AJ Green, CB, Oklahoma State (A+) Round 7 Pick 19: Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor (A+)

I did another, focusing on OT early, no trades: Your score is: 34297 (GRADE: B+) Your Picks: Round 2 Pick 11: Mekhi Becton, OT, Louisville (A) Round 2 Pick 18: Brycen Hopkins, TE, Purdue (B+) Round 4 Pick 41 (COMP): Jon Runyan, OG, Michigan (A+) Round 5 Pick 13: Jordan Fuller, FS/SS, Ohio State (A+) Round 5 Pick 17: Jeffrey McCulloch, OLB, Texas (A+) Round 6 Pick 17: Anthony McFarland, RB, Maryland (A+) Round 6 Pick 21: Evan Weaver, ILB, California (A+) Round 7 Pick 19: Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor (A+) I addressed OT, OG, TE on offense, with some depth picks at RB and WR. On defense, I addressed SS, OLB, and depth at ILB. My assumptions were that the Bears re-signed both KPL and Kwit for ILB, so we only need one there. I just didn't have a chance to pick up a CB of value with the way the draft played out.

There are a bunch of bloodline picks in this draft.
-
Yeah, it was weird, I was trying to get one early, but based on their ratings, there was not one to justify selecting when my pick was up. Every pick was BPA, but I was at least trying to get it in a need area. The DTs were the only ones true BPA as they were rated way higher than the pick, same with Mims at the end. Mims and Wims for the wins!

Here is my most recent one. I did a couple of trade downs with realistic teams (not from our Division). Your score is: 34941 (GRADE: B+) Your Picks: Round 2 Pick 16 (NYJ): Albert Okwuegbunam, TE, Missouri (A+) Round 2 Pick 18: AJ Terrell, CB, Clemson (A-) Round 3 Pick 28 (BALT): Brandon Jones, FS/SS, Texas (A) Round 4 Pick 17 (DAL): Jon Runyan, OG, Michigan (A+) Round 4 Pick 28 (BALT): Jake Hanson, C, Oregon (A+) Round 4 Pick 33 (BALT): Britain Covey, WR, Utah (A+) Round 4 Pick 41 (COMP): Josh Kaindoh, DE/OLB, Florida State (A+) Round 5 Pick 13: Anthony McFarland, RB, Maryland (A) Round 5 Pick 17: Jordan Fuller, FS/SS, Ohio State (A+) Round 6 Pick 17: Benito Jones, DT, Mississippi (A+) Round 6 Pick 21: Corey Bethley, DT, TCU (A+) Round 7 Pick 19: Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor (A+)

Some standouts that should be available after the 1st round: 1. TE - Jared Pinkney - Vanderbilt 2. QB - Anthony Gordon, Washington State; Jordan Love, Utah State 3. EDGE - Alton Robinson, Syracuse; Bradlee Anae, Utah; Terrell Lewis, Alabama 4. WR - K.J. Hill, Ohio State; James Proche, SMU; Van Jefferson, Florida 5. OL - Damien Lewis, LSU; Matt Hennessy, Temple Adam Trautman (TE, Dayton) was listed as a top performer, but after seeing some of his full tape, he would only be a better blocking version of Shaheen and maybe a little more athletic, but not much. Otherwise, there are a lot of mid-round guys that have the potential to contribute right away. I hope Pace trades down on at least one of the 2nd rounders to pick up another mid-round pick. I would rather have a couple extra darts and hit on as many positional groups as possible.
-
Shaheen is a goner. Burton may hang around with his contract. It makes more sense to bring in a rookie to develop than to go for more older players unless the Bears feel like their current window is closing, then they would go all in for 2020. Then Ebron would make more sense.

At 6'2", 221, he is more Montgomery than he is Cohen. I am not opposed to adding another RB, Whyte seemed like the perfect candidate, he would be a special teamer and someone with speed on offense. Cohen regressed a lot this year. Hopefully he corrects whatever the hell is going on with him in the upcoming season. He had two stellar years followed by a stinker. If he gets back to the old Cohen, I think we will be ok.
-
Yeah, I would rather go with KPL than Floyd. KPL seems to be better all-around than Floyd, and he will be cheaper. You can then pair Smith with Kwit for the inside.
-
Oh man, I had just seen a few highlight tapes of him. Check out the play at the goal line at 5:10. It's that option toss to the TE as they are crossing the LOS. He literally has to gain one yard against a tiny DB and he gets taken down. If he kept his head up, there was a huge hole to his left. Terrible. He does seem to be a better blocker than Shaheen and a little more athletic in general, but not someone you use a 2nd round pick on. God no Pace, don't do it!
-
Yeah I agree. I heard on a Podcast that 1/3 of all the Bears draft picks played in the Senior Bowl. So if that holds true, we will be selected 2-3 of these guys this year.
-
I am hearing reports that Bears scouts are really hard and heavy on the Offensive Linemen. They are also looking at TE, Adam Trautman, from Dayton. Just looking at his tape, he is nothing like Shaheen, way more athletic and a better blocker. He is who we wanted Shaheen to be. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001098624/article/2020-senior-bowl-day-2-justin-herbert-sizzles-bears-eye-te The Bears also met with Purdue tight end Brycen Hopkins and Vanderbilt’s Jared Pinkney earlier this week.

I know, crazy guys I tell you.
-
Yeah, sorry, had to. I just copied a previous quote from another thread so the time stamp was different.
-
Gabriel is gone. We definitely need more speed, but if the QB can't hit him in stride, no one will honor the threat.
-
Mongo, Do you mean this one, it was in your drafts box but you never hit submit

I was able to recover your post:
-
This is an informal list and we all know Pace likes to work under the radar like Spy vs Spy.
-
I don't know about easily, for how bad our offensive line is, Scherff and Whitehair could at least be a strength of it, especially with all the stunts that gave the line fits this year. I don't know how well a rookie will do next to Massie or Leno. They are both terrible. Also, a post-June 1 cut would lessen the blow for someone like Leno.
-
Foles connection both in Philly and Jacksonville. Crazy to think he was getting some consideration as a HC and we now have him on staff as a QB Coach. Not bad.
-
I would be more shocked to see Luck unretire than retire. Player career lengths are shrinking considerably, and it wouldn't surprise me if you see most players retiring in their early 30's in the next decade. They get their rookie deal, then two contracts and they are done. With how much more money they are making now compared to even the early 2000s, it makes sense.

Those are DVOA rankings, which are basically efficiency ratings which would consider YPC.
