  1. What kinda makes me sick is Williams signed for 1 yr/ $4M, it was not like he broke the bank. Everett signed for 2/12.
  2. That is the crazy part, the pressure rate was worse last night than the Cleveland game (but similar). The main difference was the QB.
  3. This is definitely a much better opponent for the Bears this early in the season. Indy is 0-2 and is the worst rush defense in the league by a pretty wide margin. They will also more than likely be without Buckner at DT. Richardson has connected on a few bombs but if the Bears take that away, he is prone to mistakes with 4 INTs on 53 attempts and only a 49% Comp%. If the Bears defense can stop Taylor and prevent anything to get behind them, this is a much more advantageous matchup than against HOU. I think this will be the best offensive output of the season for the Bears (so far), and the defense will play similarly than they have the last two weeks. Bears 24-13.
  4. Some thoughts: I chalk this one up like the Cleveland game for Fields. The O-Line and entire team never had another game THAT bad. This was a projected loss against a potential Super Bowl-level contender, on the road, in prime time. This was not a Division or Conference loss If the Bears do anything at the trading deadline, you have to believe it is going to be O-Line The next game is against the 0-2 Colts Colts Defense is allowing 237 Rushing yards per game (not a typo) Richardson is boom or bust, 3 TD, 4 INT, 49% Comp%. Taylor or Pierce or only real threats DeForest Buckner is doubtful
  5. On a macro level, losing by 6 to HOU with a chance to win the game on the last drive is probably a little ahead of schedule considering how bad the offense has looked. On a micro level, it all starts up front. Very hard to gauge Waldron and Williams when there is not even league average protection. From some of the numbers, Williams was pressured at one of the highest rates in the last few years.
  6. Also, it depends on the opponent. This week was not the week to try and have Kmet come across the line to block one of the best Edge players in the game. You are right though, everything needs to be dumbed down. The crowd noise caused a lot of issues too with timing.
  7. This reminds me of previous years, is it the Offensive Coordinator, the O-Line, or QB? Caleb is at least a rookie and he doesn't look like he has much time to do anything because of the O-Line, but at the same time, where are the quick slants, dump off options, hot routes?

That is the hope. I read somewhere they said it was going to only be 3 games. I hope he continues to do enough to keep the job.
  9. O-Line is hot garbage, it's gonna be a long year if this doesn't get fixed. I don't know how it got worse compared to last year, but here we are. Even the Tackles are playing like crap. I don't know what type of game Waldron is calling, but he is giving Getsy a run for his money. Where are the quick slants? Hot routes over the middle to beat the blitz? They brought the blitz more than in any other game in the last few years and Waldron did nothing to counter it. The defense is playing like a top 3 unit. They have been borderline dominating. If not for the lack of calls on the Texans O-Line, the Bears defense might have kept the Texans under 10. The Bears got one call their way, while the Texans got 5-6 their way, not even at all. Pitre head to head tackle on Swift, no call, next play, INT. Flus or whoever is challenging the plays needs to be fired. They lost two timeouts on boneheaded challenges. Especially the 2nd one where it was clear that Gordon did not catch it. That timeout would've came in handy on that last drive. Caleb's INTs came on scrambles and under a lot pressure, I would be more worried about those if they were missed reads. He is still a rookie and has a lot to learn, but I still feel a lot better about him than I did Fields and Trubisky their rookie years. Go watch how much time Daniels has to throw. Rarely pressured, and if he was, nothing like Williams was under. This was expected to be a loss before the season started and the Bears lost by only 6 on the road in prime time. One or two plays were the difference. No penalty on kickoff, might have been only down 3 on this last drive. One or two calls go the other way and the Bears could've stolen one.
  10. Velus inactive basically equals a win. He is a multiplier for the other team. Without that negative on the field, the Texans won't be getting a free short field. Allen was expected. Hopefully a full 12+ days off will have him ready for next week.

6.5 games left or approximately 390 snaps for a 4th round pick. I really hope they keep running Fields out there and let Wilson rest until at least Week 8 or 9. I am glad Fields is winning, but because the Steelers defense is playing so good (16 pts allowed in 2 games), no one really knows how Fields is actually playing. Does this look familiar to anyone? 23 Offensive Drives 1 TD 8 FGs 11 Punts 1 ToD 2 EoH This is Fields 2nd half today: Punt Punt FG Punt Punt Punt Punt I am happy for Fields, but the Steelers have to see this right?
  12. HOU defense allowed the 2nd highest Air Yards and highest Avg Depth of Target, and only had 2 hurries. So the deep passing game should have some room to operate.
  13. These early games have been crazy. TB beats DET in DET (DET did not look good at all, bad Goff is back) MIN beats SF (MIN now 2-0) GB beats IND with Willis at QB, ugh. WAS kicks 7 FGs to win by 3. NO crushes DAL by 25. LVR beats BAL (BAL now 0-2). LAC beats CAR 26-3, Pick #33 locked in (CAR has already been outscored by 60 pts in 2 weeks)
  14. If the Texans score 52 on the Bears, just fold the franchise.
  15. Tua needs to retire, he has more guaranteed money than 10 generations of his family will ever need. He is on at least concussion #6.
  16. Concerns about Waldron and the Oline more than Williams. Definitely some missed throws but some odd route concepts too. Booker was held bad on Pollard TD run, would've had the tackle easily. He needs to sell it better and put his arms up. Stevenson had a 2nd INT in his hands but Okonkwo should've been called for OPI then got the TD. Taylor and Hardy are going to make this an above average line. Walker also played really well. Another week and another top graded game for JJ. That contract looks amazing. They should've traded Velus when they had the chance. They look silly now. Muffing it is one thing, but mistiming it so bad that you kick it 20 yards forward is cartoon level stuff. Carter and Herbert should be the returners going forward. Don't overthink this. Scott should be playing and with Rome down for a few weeks, bring up Johnson.
  17. Prime Time Game, on the road. Hard to see anyway the Bears win this but Indy did give HOU fits all game and kept it close. I hope the defense can continue it's solid play but if they allowed 17 to TEN then that is probably high 20s to HOU. The offense has to play better all around. Stick to the run game, get Kmet involved, and more presnap motion. This was always a loss for me, so I will say HOU 27-20.
  18. You can tell whoever wrote this article, has no clue about what they are writing about, probably done with AI: Spears is going into his 2nd year and is RB2. Why would that make him hard to prepare for lol? Then the same thing applies to Roschon. Stopping Pollard and Spears is going to be the key. Whether that is rushing or the screen game, the LBs are going to have to have a clean game. I am not worried about Ridley or Boyd with the Bears secondary.
  19. If you do a position-by-position comparison with a team like GB, the Bears are comparable. However, everyone says it's a 2-dog race for the North. GB only won 2 games more than the Bears and were only 3-2 in their last 5 regular season game (4-3 with playoffs). These teams are a lot closer than the Bears are getting credit for. Love played a solid 8 game stretch, but we have seen QBs do that and then go poof (NE backups were notorious for this). He might be the real deal but he is not a sure thing just yet. Teams had zero tape on him, and now have an entire season of tape to pick up on tendencies.
  20. Tennessee lost Henry (1167 Rushing Yards, 12 TD, 214 Rec Yards) and gained Pollard (1005 Rushing Yards, 6 TD, 311 Rec Yards). So it looks like they lose a little in the ground game, but gain some in the passing game. The Bears lost Foreman (425 Rushing Yards, 4 TD, 77 Rec Yards), and gained Swift (1049 Rushing Yards, 5 TD, 214 Rec Yards, 1 TD). So they gained a lot in the both the ground and passing game by adding Swift.
  21. I am sure he has improved and he does have a better WR Corps and pass-catching RB (Pollard), but I don't know how far that takes him, especially considering he had 9 games last year in a different system. So this will be his first real game in the new system. For the preseason, he had 13 pass attempts. That feels like an incredibly small sample size to determine anything.
  22. He was a rookie last year, but regardless, he was still one of the worst QBs in the NFL using any metric: QBR 33.2 (2nd to last, 30th between Zach Wilson and Bryce Young) EPA/DB -0.09 QBP% 44.5% (3rd to last, only Fields and Wilson were worse) CPOE -3.2% (last in the NFL) Levis had 2 good games, and 7 bad games. His 2 good games were against ATL and MIA. The Bears defense is infinitely better than those two units. In the 2 good games, he had 5 TD, 1 INT, 3 sacks, and one fumble lost. In the 7 bad games, he had only 3 TDs, 3 INT, 25 sacks, and 3 fumbles lost
