  1. He was so bad that Lovie had to take over play calling.

He sure looked good on the INT TD return. He was moving.
  3. Tebow is just not an NFL QB. His best bet would be to convert to TE, FB, or LB.
  4. They can do that for their Super Bowl Shuffle Dance as they put their Super Bowl rings on.
  5. lol, it was funny how in the other thread it showed how bad the Bears D was when Babich took over as DC, then returned back to normal after he left the position. I guess for him the Jax D can't get any worse, so even a slight improvement will look good for him.

I agree with your assessment, but how much of that was due to the system the players were playing in? I know the 3rd Down issues were almost completely on the scheme. I don't know if we ever covered the quick slant, even though everyone knew it was coming. For Urlacher, the only way I see him coming back is if he takes a pay cut, which is unlikely.

One playmaker? I would say Peppers, Melton, Tillman, and Jennings would beg to differ. Also, Wright and Conte have come a long way. Tillman is not a shutdown corner? Just ask Megatron who averaged 8-133 against the rest of the league and 4-53 vs the Bears. Megatron was held to a season low 3 receptions for 34 yards in Week 7 against Tillman.
  8. Exactly. With a DC that has experience with both, we are not tied to one or the other, and can at least give looks with Peppers and McClellin on the outside. This also is in line with the HC's philosophy of being able to adapt the schemes to the players, not the other way around. It will be very interesting. I am just glad we got all the coaches in before the deadline, now we get almost an entire offseason (for non-playoff teams) to get ready for next season.
  9. I don't think it is pts, but regardless, kind of funny to see Gould's pictures run off the board.

Dungy must not realize Mel Tucker is a minority, lol.

Interesting quotes from Tucker. I seem to notice a trend starting with Trestman about all the coaches. Do you see similarities from the quotes below: http://jacksonville.com/sports/football/ja...h#ixzz2INMMkMQh

This all stems from the lack of a minority hire this year. To me it is pretty simple, Caldwell crashed Indy to a 2-14 team, why would anyone hire him? Lovie? We all know enough about him to understand the reluctance to hire him. If they want to talk about diversity, where are the women coaches? Just saying.
  13. Someone with 4-3 and 3-4 experience sure would be a good candidate to switch if the team decided to go that route.
  14. Some good pics of Trestman here, he looks completely different as a player in the 70s: http://galleries.apps.chicagotribune.com/c...hotos-20130115/ Interesting one here, what is with all the pictures of Gould in the background? http://www.trbimg.com/img-1358450221/turbi...--20130117/1280
  15. or the scheme that was used to ad nauseam actually limited the true potential of the players and team. Just think of some deception built into our defense. Not just the silly pre-snap ritual where the LB's run to the line only to back pedal back to their positions at the snap. Soooo tricky.
  16. The website is not complete BS, it is just not that rudimentary. There is more to it than just the basics they showed there. It is just not eye's only, but tone of voice, body language, posture, etc. The best way to know is to ask similar questions, worded slightly different that should yield the same answer. Within the same interview you would be surprised how much a story that is made up changes. To me, I think he was tricked, but then tried to hide it after he found out to possibly avoid embarrassment, but the story got out, and now it looks even worse.

DC for Jacksonville. Brought the defense up in 2011 when he took over playcalling from Del Rio. Otherwise, you can only do so much with crappy players.
  18. First, you can't just pull 3 years out of the entire picture to improve your stance. The Bears, under a defensive minded HC, had a top 5 unit in 4 out of the last 9 years. I would be curious to see where other perennial defensive teams like Pittsburgh and Baltimore ranked in the same timeframe. You can also see the drop off after the firing of Rivera and the SB loss. 2 out of 6 seasons in the top 5 for a defense that is supposed to be the strength of the team. That too is not acceptable. We should've been a top 5 defense every year.
  19. Actually, Lovie took over the Defense play calling from Babich in 2009: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3831098
  20. UNPOSSIBLE!!! I don't see Lovie on that list, there has to be a mistake, a Dave McGinnis hire perhaps?

Odd, his wiki summary shows this when you search his name on Google: but when you go to his actual page, it still says DB Coach.
