    Shae McClellin

We will give him a chance, but please stop the Jared Allen comparisons. Allen had 9 sacks as a rookie and 11 in his second season. I can only hope McClellin can produce half as much. He did look absolutely silly with the spin move right into the hands of the OLineman who just pushed him away as the ball flew over his head. If he stayed facing the QB he could have at least jumped up to block the pass. He is still learning, but that play looked awful.
  2. The only thing I can assume is that Davis is a lock to make the team, that is why he was not mentioned.
  3. They offered 700k compared to his 1.2 mil contract. They were cutting over 500k, he declined.
  4. Booker is much better on Special Teams and Allen is a compliment back to Forte and Bush.
  5. Interesting, so it looks like he would've made the team if he took a pay cut, but since he wouldn't, the Bears will go with Allen or Booker for the lower price.
  6. This gets me pumped too: Nice Catch Jeffery seems really polished for a rookie WR, sitting down in space, and even switched hands when he didn't have the sideline to protect him.
  7. There is no way to justify playing Urlacher vs MIN last year. He can be injured at any point, but when he does in a meaningless game, that is just bad player management. Derrick Rose vs Philly comes to mind. Yeah, even that week is questionable. I would almost want to exercise extreme caution in this case, and wait until October 1st in Dallas. We should be able to beat Indy and STL without him, but GB is going to be a tough game anyway, especially in GB. If they did that, he would only have to play 2 games before getting another week off at the bye.
  8. Offense looks sick. Marshall and Jeffery with some big receptions. Cutler looks sharp.
  9. Cutler throws for 4,000 and 35 TD, under 20 INT and 30 sacks Marshall 105-1,450-14 (All new Bears All-Time records) McClellin 8 sacks, 2 FFB, 2 INT Hardin - starting by Week 6, 4 INT, Plank/Fencik highlight reel hits every week Gould leads the league in scoring Rodriguez 40-550-4 Webb is released by the Bye Week Hester adds 3 more Punt Return TD's to his legacy Bears with a Top 10 Offense, Defense, and Special Teams Bears 12-4, 1st Wild Card team Bears beat Pack in NFC Championship, 27-24 on a Benson fumble and Hester Punt Return TD Bears beat Texans 31-17 in SB
  10. Horrible news with Green Bay in Week 2. Hopefully it is only a minor procedure.

    Urlacher speaks

His injury is huge, and that fact that he said he was pretty sure he would be ready for week one is worrisome. The defense is completely different without him in the middle.
  12. I dunno, you can't say none of this counts as assessments are always ongoing. From college, to OTA's, to preseason games, to the regular season, there is some translation between those.
  13. it sucks to see other potential 1st round draft picks excelling (per Rotowolrd): The Bears were linked to Coples, Mercilus, Ingram, and Jones at some point before the draft. I really hope McClellin proves the doubters wrong, but right now he is sort of behind the power curve.
  14. 0-11 on 3rd Down on the night. Team looked pretty bad, hopefully it is just us keeping the playbook simple and not showing our hand. Defense didn't look any better.
  15. Nate Collins looking good at DT. Getting a lot of pressure.
  16. Only Peppers had more than 7 last year, Melton had 7. So if McClellin can get 7+, that would be huge. However, just like with Peppers, the stats don't always tell the whole story. Peppers almost affects every single passing play. So even if McClellin doesn't get 7 sacks, but gets a alot of pressures, that would be just as productive. A holding call is equal to a 10 yard sack.
  17. Yeah that is awesome. If you are going to blame me for something, I am going to go out and do what I am being blamed for. I will show you detrimental, lol!
  18. Yeah, it is great when you have that excitement and trust. I am really expecting a huge year out of them. I did not know what caused Marshall's incident, but that is pretty funny. Wow, McDaniels is a little weasel.
  19. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--bears-br...Y3Rpb25z;_ylv=3 I had to laugh at this Marshall comment about Cutler and WR's: However, it is nice to see their maturation.
