  1. How do you put a price tag on a mid-20's Pro Bowl QB? You also can't really add all those up and say they are the same value. Think of it this way, figuring the Bears are at least making the playoffs this year, they will more than likely give Denver a pick in the 20's next year (hopefully 32). So pick #18 and a pick in the 20's. Take a look at the last 10 years of drafts, and count the Pro Bowlers between picks 18-32. There have been 29 players selected for the Pro Bowl who were selected from pick 18-32 in the last 10 years out of a total of 147 picks. That is 19.7%. So 1 in 5 are Pro Bowlers, and that counts 1 selection at any point in their careers. So there are actually way less perennial Pro Bowlers. The odds are against teams finding Pro Bowl talent with every 1st round pick.
  2. I liked how Lovie mentioned mobility and how that is something the Bears have lacked at the QB position and also mentioned his Rocket of an arm. Sweet.

Wow, well at least we have options.

He may have priced himself outside of the Bears range. He is also looking for a long contract. So it may be in the Bears best interest to pass on him.
  5. I think there is a great chance that he breaks out. Looking at his stats from college when they both were in Vandy, it looks like they really clicked.
  6. Yeah, I just read that. That is awesome. Bennett actually had a pretty good year with Cutler at QB.
  7. I didn't even realize Williams and Cutler were teammates at Vandy. Hopefully that will help both of them.
  8. I'll do 4. Give me OAK, HOU, MIA, and ARZ.
  9. Someone is going to pick him up, and no team needs WR help more than the Bears. Makes sense, but knowing JA, probably a long shot.
  10. I heard Vick was going to the new UFL. I doubt the Bears would ever pick him up regardless of the potential he has. Just too much baggage. The Bears let Tank and Benson walk due to their issues, and Vick's were pretty bad, so I doubt the Bears would even consider him.
  11. Just give me any 3 teams, preferably 1 in the top 10, 1 from 11-20ish, and one in the last 1/3 of the 1st round.
  12. I'll take any teams you need me to take. I could do one in the top 10, one from 11-20, and one from 21-32.
  13. Wow, a lot of D. HEYWARD-BEY picks.

Bear Sox, I really liked your ability to get downfield and "find" someone to block. RB's will love that, opponents DB's, not so much.
  15. Can the Pats afford to pay Cassel that kind of money ($14.65 million) and Brady ($14.626 million cap hit in 2009)? That would be over $29 million just for the QB position.
  16. So you tuck your elbow in to show that you intend to lead with your pads? There is no way he can make that determination in a split second. He was running at the play and literally dove head first into McGahee. This wasn't a mid-level hit. I am sure he will be fined for it. At least no one got seriously injured.
  17. It looks like Clark is actually moving upwards when he makes the hit and his arms are not even out like he is trying to make a tackle. The first view from the back of the end zone does look like he was leading with his shoulder, but every other view shows his head leading. Also, McGahee didn't drop his head that much. Seems like a pretty clear helmet to helmet hit. Here are a couple of screenshots in sequence:
  18. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/2009/0...rom-lombardi-5/ I doubt the Bears would sign him if released, and I doubt he would come to the Bears, but I guess you never know.

    Per Rotoworld: Who's next?
  20. Olsen also needs to see more opportunities. I hate it when he only gets 3-4 passes to him all game.

There was a stat out there that we were the only team in the NFL without a pass longer than 30 yards (or something like that). Not yards after catch, but an actual pass longer than 30 yards. That makes it really easy for teams to shut us down and makes Forte's performance that much more amazing. We need a QB that can stretch the field. Orton is great for game management, and he won't lose many games on his own, but he won't win many on his own either. The WR situation clouds my judgment, because it is hard to judge how Orton performed with that sorry excuse for a WR corps.

The problem is the negative side outweighs the positive side 2 to 1. It is actually amazing this team won 9 games. We beat Detroit twice, so we basically played .500 ball all year. Totally disappointed, and the Dallas and Tampa losses just made it worse.

That makes it worse. We were basically given a playoff spot and all we had to do was beat the Texans. Pitiful performance.

Kick at the end was stupid. Why give them a shorter field?
  25. Great. This guy has done absolutely nothing since signing that huge contract.
