  1. Those are apples to oranges comparisons. You really can't compare guys like Manning, Brady, Brees with just stats. Same goes for Cutler. Cutler's numbers actually show a couple of things on their own. Last year, 12 of his 18 INTs were thrown when Denver was behind. 8 INTs were thrown when Denver was 3rd and 6 or more. Now if he was throwing the most INTs on 1st Down, I would think that would be more alarming. That leads me to believe that some of his INT's were more situational and not necessarily his fault (trying to do too much, defense always postured against the pass). He is still going to try to fit balls in when he is late, but a lot of times, those are risk and reward type plays. If he doesn't do that, the defense won't honor anything. That has been our problem for so long. Now we actually have a dangerous QB who is going to take risks. Will they always pay off? Nope, but the defense better be ready for them or they will get burned. Grossman actually had this going on for a couple of games, but eventually his skill caught up with him. Cutler's ceiling is so much higher. Just think if Cutler was our QB for the SB. I think we win easily. That is what we have to look forward to.
  2. That is how I feel too. I understand if you are trying to be positive, but if an 80-something QB rating in a preseason game is the best you've ever felt, Denver should be nervous.
  3. Orton: Now you can take this a number of ways, but it sure does seem like a shot at the Bears since that is the only "talent" he has ever been around.

I believe it will be on NFL Network tomorrow night. Cutler highlights: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlig...tler-highlights Forte highlights: http://www.nfl.com/videos/chicago-bears/09...orte-highlights Game highlights: http://www.nfl.com/videos/chicago-bears/09...ars-17-Giants-3
  5. Hilarious, Favre 1-4 for 4yds. Jackson 200+ yards with 2 TD's and counting with a QB Rating (158.3). So if this trend continues, this is going to create huge problems for Minnesota, and I love it.
  6. http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2009/08/du...n_harrison.html Would he be worth it?
  7. 6 is a TD baby! They should've said, are you ready for some Favre-beans.
  8. From the Vikes homepage, hilarious:
  9. vs GB, Monday Night, Week 4, and @ CHI Monday Night, Week 16.
  10. What a joke, I hope the drama sinks them.

Your #4 pick is interesting. Otherwise looks pretty good.

I thought he was taking blame by stating what type of receiver Hester is (not leading him as a go-get it receiver). He is not throwing him under the bus - and yes, Hester should've at least made an attempt to break up the INT.
  13. Another thing to consider is the Bears don't want to reveal too much of their offense too soon. Right now there is very little film on Cutler with the Bears for other teams to use. This will be a huge advantage to start the season.
  14. Also realize that Buffalo was on their 2nd preseason game. So they were able to use some more complex defense designs compared to their basic coverages. The Bears were without Forte and Olsen, which is a significant amount of our offense. Looking at the replays, Buffalo had a bunch of players in coverage on almost every play. I am actually more worried about our passing defense than anything else. Buffalo was putting on a clinic vs our defense.

    Yeah, Buffalo QB's are 18-21.
  16. I am also curious to see the Special Teams and returns without using Hester.
  17. I also thought Vick to Cleveland would've had the best synergy.

He could say that he meant preseason opening day starter.
  19. I like Bears over Titans as well.

but he manages the game very well..... 3 Interceptions, 9-16 for 89 yards with most of his throws being short dink and dunks. I believe his longest completion was 19 yards. They have tried to mask the fact that he has struggled in training camp, but the cat is out of the bag now. I would not be surprised if Simms was the opening day QB. I hope Orton rebounds, but it doesn't look too promising.
  21. For how popular he already is and with the addition of Cutler, I don't see how he is a true sleeper. I just think he will outproduce all his projections this year. I doubt you will get him in Round 10, but if you do, congrats.
  22. I hope Cutler is in on the decision making process. QB-WR is one of those relationships that may be hard to gauge from an outside perspective. Cutler knows better than anyone if his throws are where he wanted them and would also know if the WR's are actually running crisp routes based on the play called. Half of the time (from an outside perspective) you can't tell whether the QB was wrong or the WR was wrong. So I like the idea that you have someone on the inside giving their 2 cents. It also works the same way for QB. I would think a team would get some input from WR's on a QB battle just to reinforce what they are already thinking. It can't hurt.
  23. When I initially saw it, I was thought it was Olsen.
  24. Worst article title ever, geez. http://www.nfpost.com/Biggs-Bears-tight-en...r-the-year.html
  25. 1.5%? Not human. 110 routes? How do you defend against that?
