  1. looks like we are cornering the market on former vanderbilt commodores
  2. while we have bigger draft needs (S, pass rushing DE, WR) I wouldn't be upset if the bears take Brian Cushing. Our Sam LB play was awful last year with roach and hunter. His best spot supposedly is lined up over the TE, and I also think he could be effective in getting to the QB given the right blitz schemes, which frankly was far and away the defenses biggest weakness last year. That said, when it comes down to it, id rather take a guy like Maclin if there or DE that can get to the QB. Given the fact that safety is horrendously weak I don't see that being a position we fill in the first round. CB is a possibility, especially if they move Peanut to Free. I don't see them drafting a OT, so i think they will wait to get a OG in later rounds.
  3. we will pick ahead of all the playoff teams, but after that, new england is the only team with a better record 21-32 will be the 12 playoffs teams, the patriots will pick 20th....then it comes to the 9-7 non playoff teams - Tampa, NYJ, Bears, Dallas According to this the bears had the toughest schedule of those teams .... http://www.theredzone.org/strength.asp thus the bears will pick 19th i believe DE appears to be pretty deep this year, while safety is very thin...IMO bears 1st day picks should be spent on WR, DE, OL
  4. sacks by year... 2005: 41 2006: 40 2007: 41 2008: 28 and we blitzed more this year than any other team in the league....unacceptable
  5. obviously...my point was that if the giants lost to the panthers, atlanta could have still tied the giants for the #2 seed in the NFC in the final weekend, thus the Giants would have had alot to play for in the final week
  6. couldn't atlanta have still tied them for homefield/bye? if the giants lost tonight, and atlanta won in the final week, the giants would have to beat minny to avoid a tie both in record and in conference record....not sure who the common opponent tie breaker was, but if the giants lost i believe they still would have been playing next week for a first round bye
  7. the dropped passes have to stop...its ridiculous...Davis already cost us games against Tampa and Carolina with 3rd down drops that would have milked the clock, and he dropped two more today, one that resulted in an INT I watched almost every game in earl bennetts college career, and id be willing to be he didnt drop as many passes in his career as rashied has this year....not sure why he can't hit the field, but he can't be worse than 81
  8. i think the thought process with jones is that the other guys contribute on special teams....if jones is only gonna get 1 or 2 carries a game then it doesnt really matter
  9. delhomme just threw his 4th pick against the raiders
  10. haha this whole thread is quite amusing
  11. forte was absolutely wide open for the first down there.... that bootleg was so freaking predictable there...i can't believe the bears didnt have that covered
  12. the missed 3 pts are actually looming large now
  13. especially when you dont make it
  14. i love charles tillman, but he is not a good man to man coverage corner
  15. i forgot how frustrating it is to watch this guy play the game
  16. another wide open throw missed to davis this guy sucks
  17. i dont want to see vasher on the field anymore....graham deserves to play
  18. grossman on first drive: 6-9 56 yards passing since: 4-11 for -2 yards....and one of em was on the tipped play
  19. this confuses me....seems contradictory......although i agree with what you are saying...i think we match up very well against the flaming pushpins....if we had KO out there i would pick us...but im not sure if we are gonna be able to move the ball....we are gonna need a score on D or on special teams to win this one IMO...maybe both. if the rumors of the supposed wildcat being used were true...seems like this week would be the perfect week to use it on the field also
  20. exactly...IMO if they are dumb enough to just try to jack orton, he can just run out of bounds, or straight backwards for all i care....its essentially a pancake block taking the defender completely out of hte play
  21. olsen snapped one in preseason...the announcers didnt say anything about, not sure how i noticed it but it just caught my eye...
  22. it wasn't an espn message board, but rather a chat with matt williamson and then another one with matthew berry, but it didn't say any specifics about the formation, just that it was rumored that the bears may be working on adding "the wildcat with hester" into the offense this week
  23. I've seen this now in 2 separate ESPN chats that the bears are working on a Wildcat formation this week, and that Hester could be involved. Id be happier to see the Wildcat run with Forte and Jones, rather than Forte and Hester, simply because the wildcat doesnt really get hester into too much space where he can be effective
  24. note to devin hester.... minnesota has punt coverage problems
