March 4, 201511 yr Author comment_144703 Surprised Eagles were able to get back a pretty high upside young player in Kiko. This might actually bode well for Forte. Haven't heard league perception. Obviously Lesean is better but both are old and have high mileage (in RB terms). Report
March 4, 201511 yr comment_144704 I heard about this possibility the other day on NFL Network (Sirius). They were discussing how Kelly was unhappy with the cap hit for McCoy and how McCoy would not renegotiate. He got rid of DeSean Jackson and now McCoy. Either he is going to be a genius or fired at the end of the year. Philadelphia Ducks. We will keep our Duck. Report

Obviously Lesean is better but both are old and have high mileage (in RB terms). Yeah but Kiko tore his ACL and missed last season. Buffalo has Rex Ryan as coach, and he has always preferred a power run game. McCoy has always thrived as more of a receiving back. It just seems like an odd mood for both sides. Report
March 4, 201511 yr comment_144721 I guess it isn't a done deal. Just shows you how rumors take on a life of there own. It has been discussed but not initiated. May happen, but odds it isnt. Report

At this point Chip has upset one of his best players, McCoy. That's also the kind of thing (not rewarding your own players, loyalty, etc.) the rest of the players notice especially after the way he unceremoniously dumped Desean Jackson last season. It's going to be hard to put this genie back in the bottle if it doesn't go through and regardless this will have ramifications for their team this season. Do you think a veteran who is injured is likely to play through the pain knowing the organization won't appreciate that and will just trade him or cut him anyway? At some point guys start worrying more about their next job than the current one. Of course that's always a reality on any roster but with star players, if they can't do enough to earn loyalty, then the message is clear that nobody can. We still talk about Urlacher's last offer from Emery and how that impacted the Bears' locker room. Imagine what is going on in Philly today. Report

McCoy and Chip will have a hard time healing this wound. Wouldn't be surprised if they cut him to save the cap space. I'm hearing that's what Chip was after and Shady said no. And then they traded him with the caveat that he sign a long term deal with Buffalo, which he refused to do. I'm hearing this from a buddy, nobody official. So take it for what it's worth. Regardless, McCoy is a damn good player and should have a number of years left in him. It wouldn't surprise me if someone gets him for a song. Report
March 4, 201511 yr comment_144729 Didn't see this and was surprised. Chip getting one of his former Oregon boys. Trading Shady for Kikko helps the D and then they can use the cap space saved by getting rid of Shady to sign more players. Chip can easily get a good RB in the draft. Makes sense, but trading one of the best backs in the NFL is kind of nuts. Report

I agree, he may be sly smart, they get Marriotta, draft a RB and win a SB, or not. Report

I think McCoy is an elite player so I don't buy the "easily replaceable" part because the draft has good talent at RB. Maybe the Eagles are better with the combination of Alonso and other players they gain from the cap space. But…it's a gamble and doing this two years in a row now has the entire locker room nervous about who is next and when. McCoy's issues with Kelly go back to last season when he started getting less playing time. Why I don't know but it had to be a large part of why McCoy refused to renengotiate with Kelly. Report
