April 29, 201510 yr comment_147708 That is for next year, teams have until 05/01 or something to decide if they will pick up his 5th year option. At 7.5 million, do you blame the Bears for not? Report
April 29, 201510 yr comment_147709 next. He's still here this season. Someone has to fetch water... That is for next year, correct? Or was that for this year? Report
April 29, 201510 yr comment_147710 thank god .. good riddance It would be nice if he actually fit in this system better, but fact is I dont think he is an NFL player. Report
April 29, 201510 yr comment_147713 It would be nice if he actually fit in this system better, but fact is I dont think he is an NFL player. Ouch. But accurate. Interesting that Fox and Fangio, who are supposed to know a bit about the 3-4, don't think he fits in that D either. What a huge waste. Report
April 29, 201510 yr comment_147717 Even if he does play well in the new scheme there is nothing in his performance that would earn him a contract as high as his 5th year option. This is a no-brainer decision. Report

I thought Fox publicly stated that he liked Shea coming out of the draft? I haven't heard anyone on the Bears brass say they don't think he fits the 3-4. Report
April 29, 201510 yr comment_147721 I thought Fox publicly stated that he liked Shea coming out of the draft? I haven't heard anyone on the Bears brass say they don't think he fits the 3-4. Say, no. But actions speak louder than words. With that said, as mentioned above in the thread, this really is a no-brainer decision. If Shae pans out, he'll still be cheaper than the price of the option. So I'm a bit ahead of myself with the "waste" comment. Report

Yeah, I figured this was more of the obvious, he isn't a 7.5M player vs. the Bears saying anything about whether they have written off Shea or not. Report
April 30, 201510 yr comment_147734 Makes total sense. If he plays well, we can bring him back cheap and save some cap space. A no-brainer. Report
