October 18, 201510 yr comment_151946 So now a first down measurement is automatically reviewed? In overtime the reviews are precipitated from up top. I'm sure they have a specific protocol they have to follow to review specific plays. Report
October 18, 201510 yr comment_151948 At this point I'm fairly certain anyone on this board can do what Mariani is doing on punt returns. Or better. Report

October 18, 201510 yr Author comment_151953 Are you serious? NOW the Bears are running the ball? Way too conservative play calling. Report
October 18, 201510 yr comment_151957 Man I'm trying so hard not to rip the play calling but it's ridiculous Report
October 18, 201510 yr comment_151964 LMAO on the blatant hold missed. How did they miss that 5 ft from Stafford on a roll out? Unbelievable, I am sick to my stomach. Report

October 18, 201510 yr comment_151969 The only thing this defense should be practicing for the rest of the year is how to properly defend a pass in the air. Just horrendous technique and execution every time there is a long pass. I'm not sure I can remember many batted passes this year by any of our DB's. All that safety had to do is bat the freakin ball away from Johnson instead of going for an INT. Report

October 18, 201510 yr comment_151971 A lot of blame to go around, but it is hard to play against another team and the refs. This game should've never went to OT. Report

October 18, 201510 yr comment_151973 McPhee is the only consistent play maker on this defense. Lack of talent and depth really shows when he's not on the field or is getting held (that never gets called). Report
October 18, 201510 yr comment_151974 How did they miss that 5 ft from Stafford on a roll out? Unbelievable, I am sick to my stomach. I looked at that play over and over, through the eyes of a fan and the eyes of an official. Typically, when the defender is progressing towards the runner without obstruction, the foul won't be called. So when the contact and grasp was made, the Bears defender was actually closer to the QB than the blocker was. This is obviously not the normal situation, because the blocker is usually between the runner and the defender. Anyway, in this situation, all the flailing of arms doesn't matter much; the official is looking for a jersey stretch or something similar. That's the only thing I can put out there for this no-call. It certainly looked like the defender was hindered while running towards Stafford, but I'm guessing they didn't see enough restriction since the Bears' player was moving towards Stafford. Report

Based on how the game was called, I can see how it was not called; but once he leaves the pocket, you can clearly see Young's movement being restricted. Report
