It would not shock me in the least if Fox gets fired, and immediately gets thrown into the mix as the #1 name for the Giants.

Im not reading anything into that comment from fox at all for multiple reasons. That comment is absolutely fact. His resume before getting here speaks for itself. So he's just being honest. And you say he's overly confident? Sure but I want a HC that's confident. He's been in the business a long time he knows if he comes out and sounds beaten down he will get crushed for it. I've seen hue Jackson sound way over confident as well despite his team has 1 total win in the 2 yrs he's been there.

There is the Ernie Accorsi connection too. Also, Gettleman was on the Giants staff with Fox from 1997-2001 (which included a SB appearance). So there is familiarity there from multiple angles.

Their defense has a good number of playmakers on it (even though Apple is dubbed a “cancer” by Collins). And hey, Fox has worked with Eli’s big brother so there is that. Saw some rumors where Peyton is interested in coaching. Maybe he’d like to help little bro out and join Fox’s staff?

I have heard reports that Peyton is interested in running a team. Not so sure at the GM level, but at the president level. If I was Virginia, I would kick Teddy out and welcome Peyton in. Maybe Peyton wants to take steps to get there which may involve some coaching duties.

Saw that too and agree to the speculation of him trying out coaching first. And if it were a favorable situation. Only flaw in my theory is there is heavy speculation of Eli going to Jacksonville. I could see that with Coughlin in play.

I don't think that's happening with Gettleman. He reportedly If they draft a rookie QB I think he wants Eli there for a year or two. That makes sense in a lot of ways because Rosen might be the only QB in the draft who could start this year. Darnold for all his talent would benefit from a year and probably two behind Eli. Same goes for Josh Allen or Baker Mayfield.
