Vander Esch will be interesting to see given his history with Eberflus.  Do we want him or not?  

I don't necessarily think they should limit themselves to players under 30 next year. I think there should be some realistic expectations to compete, so adding some good veterans wouldn't be the worst idea. 

Da'ron Payne, Nichols Morrow, Tremaine Edmonds would be an awesome start.  Payne is a good pass rusher from the DT position.  Edmonds is an Urlacher type of athlete that would play well in the middle.  This draft is big on edge guys, so I see us filling that there.  Priority for defense is still finding our 3 tech.  That may make it harder to trade our first rounder for more picks.

If we go by Poles first yr of being GM, he will target a few big signings and then resign who he sees as core players.

In the draft he will go with BPA early and trade back later for more picks. He said he will build by the draft and dont see him changing in only his second yr.

Orlando Brown LT  with a young OL, I think he will solidify the line with vets instead of more draft picks

Ethan Pocic OC     same as above

Bobby Okereke WLB ties to Flus coming from a failing team

He resigns Monty (team friendly deal)

                    Morrow-  proved value

                     Armon Watts - good rotational player

                     Tevor Wesco  - cheap contributor

                      N'Keal Harry - will show value going forward

He extends Claypool and Mooney

After losing to the Lions, Bears now 3-7 and drafting 6th, but are tied with 3 other teams at 3-7. So right now only LVR at 2-6 and HOU at 1-7-1 have a worse record. That loss is the difference between drafting 6th and 13th.

Right now the draft order is HOU, LVR, CAR, NO, JAX, CHI. With SEA (from DEN), DET (from LAR), HOU (from CLE), PIT, and DET all with one less loss. It is pretty crazy to think the Bears have as many wins as DEN, LAR, CLE, and PIT right now. Hopefully those teams start winning. 

I am surprised by how bad LVR, NO, and JAX are this year. 

HOU, CAR, and NO are taking QBs for sure. LVR is up in the air. So the Bears could possibly get the 3rd best non-QB off the board.

After the Bears pick, DEN, LAR, CLE, and PIT are not taking a QB. So that leaves DET, ATL, WAS, and IND as the next team's looking for a QB. So there may be potential to trade back a few spots and recoup another pick without the risk of losing a top player. 

Next week feels like a win against ATL (so they don't lose 4 in a row). Then losses to NYJ and GB would have them 4-9 into the bye. After the bye its PHI, BUF, DET, and MIN. 3 easy losses and a possible win against DET. That is 5-12 max, potentially 4-13 which would be a top 4 pick.

 I like all those names . I think he will spend the money on both a DL and OL. The rest will be middling contracts.

I think they like B Jones and let that play out, they absolutely will take Jaylon Carter. Imagine him and another edge rusher. Imagine a 8-10 sack DT .

If we land here and Levis is still there, the Colts, Falcons, Commanders and Bucs are serious trade partners to screw the Lions.  Moving up to 6 would expensive and I like it.

I can definitely see that as a possibility but there are rare elite blue chip players that I think every team needs to have to win a Superbowl.  The Aaron Donald types.  We'll see how draft grades and early entrants line up but he'd be hard to pass up even in a 2 for 1 deal.  I'd literally bend Detroit over backwards and make them pay the Trubisky price and then still get Carter and a lot more.   Levis is a good prospect but he's not Justin Fields.    

I hope we dont trade back if Carter, Anderson, or Murphy are there.
