Unbelievable Stats when you are losing 21-9:

First Downs: Bears 24 - 14
Third Downs: Bears 9-21, Colts 3-11
Total Yards: Bears 389-293
Time of Possession: Bears 34:33, Colts 22:58
Colts only completed 10 passes

For everyone that wanted the modern passing offense, this is what it looks like. We have to be able to run the ball or we are not makiong 9 wins.

well Ill bet we wish we had 3 timeouts now. hmmm whered they go Eberflus?!

Swift has to be relegated to the 3rd Down back, I could care less what he signed for. Roschon and Herbert are much better and Roschon is looking like a complete back.

Missed FG and 2 pt conversion, and down by 5. This is a coaching loss.

no this is not what a modern passing game looks like - this is what bad offensive gameplanning looks like

I also agree with you that we need to run the ball. modern passing offenses run the ball too!

Williams has the highest passing game for yardage in the NFL this season with 363 yards.

Tua had the most at 338 in Week 1.

In a perfect scenario, the Bears can get the ball back with about 35-40 seconds left needing a TD.

How about the hail mary stopped at the 1?

Me too, have a good one!

Can’t believe we didn’t try the onside kick. I know it’s an unlikely recovery but after how the Colts easily got the first down what was there to lose. Also you have better field position.

Wow, very disheartening.  And that was me thinking we had competent people running things.  Those who were saying we needed offensive line help:  right again.  We should have splurged there and let Allen go.

The only thing to take out of this is Caleb surpassed 300 yds and 2 tds.  The rest of the game was a disgrace.  I don't even know what a top 5 pick would do to help this team since they were pencil and paper champagne in the offseason.

When you upgrade everywhere but the OL this is what happens.  Dumb dead ball fouls, horrible pass blocking and run blocking.  Play calling was supposed to be better this year with Getsy gone but not impressed in the least by Waldron thus far.  1st and goal inside the 10 and we run, run, run, then try to get cute.  We gave up a sure 3, and didn't even allow Caleb to throw there once...

Caleb needs to step up and settle down too.  His deep ball accuracy has not been great aside from the one deep throw to Rome, which he then followed up with an INT.

Not even sure where to start to fix this.  It's been a disappointing start.  If you would have told me that Williams first TD pass would come in the 3rd Quarter of the third game of the season I would have called you a liar.  But here we are with an offense that invested heavily in the skill positions and we may have a more anemic offense than we had last year.

After the one drop, Odunze played much better.

This was a coaching loss, just like Houston's game. Terrible time management, time out usage, challenges, etc. Eberflus is literally a turd as an HC, and Waldron is a hot pile of dung as an OC.

I still think it is personnel. Roschon is clearly a better fit for whatever this offense is. Swift just doesn't see the cutback lanes and has dropped a few passes. Roschon moves the pile and runs vertically. He is also good at pass pro. There is no reason it shouldn't be Roschon and Herbert as the top two rushers. I do not care about contract status. The best players need to get the snaps. Right now I see too much Swift and Everett.

Swift 37-68 rushing, 1.84 yards per carry
Everett 3 receptions - 0 yards

Roschon 8-30, 4-32 receiving

I am looking up some numbers now, but I believe Swift is close to the record for lowest total yards with over 35 carries ever, outside of QBs taking a knee at the end of game.

This was a horrible loss, but Caleb and Rome Odunze made clear signs of progress despite the ineptitude of this coaching staff.

If it wasn't obvious already, this run game is completely broken. Colts were the worst run defense in the league, by a mile, and they looked like the Steel Curtain out there today going against Bears RB's. It's actually even more impressive that Caleb was able to have as much success throwing the ball today while being forced into one dimensional football.

Next week's game becomes a must-win. The Rams are reeling, the Bears cannot afford to start the year off 1-3 with a back-loaded schedule of good teams waiting for them starting in week 11.

If you get a chance to rewatch the last two games. The offense looks like crap when Swift gets touches. He literally is a drive killer. Half the 3 and outs start with a Swift 1 yard rush. I thought at first the O-Line was the problem, but he is missing holes, not cutting back, has no vision, and has dropped several catchable screen passes. He is so bad that if you just played with 10 players instead of Swift on the field, it would automatically be a better play than with him on the field.

Yep, he looks like a disaster of a signing. No vision or contact balance, whatsoever. At the very least, I thought he'd be useful catching passes out of the backfield, but so far, he's been terrible at that, too.

It's hard to fathom how this team could go from a top 5 rushing team to the worst in a year. I know Fields makes up for a huge chunk of that, but they still got positive production out of both Herbert and Foreman for several games, some of those came with Tyson Bagent.

I don't know if they're running a new blocking scheme or what, but they have got to figure something in a hurry because Williams cannot survive throwing the ball 52 times playing behind this OL all season. Personally, I'd like to see more Herbert, and if the struggles continue for another week or two, you might be forced into Velus out of desperation. It's crazy that we're already at this point.
