I agree with playing Sanborn more if Daniels is out.  If Daniels is in he's fast and you need more speed to spy on him.

I mean more 3 LBer sets instead of 70% nickel. Daniels wont be playing (probably  not but if playing injured may restrict him in the running game.)

The problem with this static look at a passing chart is that it's not showing the trend lines.  Early on I'd say this would work against Calen.  After the last two games I'd love the Wash safeties to do what Ryan Clark says and stick between the numbers and play downhill.  Caleb is doing a very good job reading the safeties.

Bill would have a different take if he only watched the last 2 games as you suggest. Washingtons Ss arent great and a few completions on the outside and CW would screw with their minds. Allen and Kmet in the middle of the field would kill them.

Big game tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to seeing our offense against a more capable defense than we've seen. Time to get to level 2.

Here's to continued growth in the face of increasing challenges.

I'm more interested in seeing what our defense can do against one of the top-scoring offenses in the league. Washington's defense sucks. If we cannot continue to show growth against their putrid D, we are nowhere near the team I was expecting coming out of the bye-week.

by yards allowed, the Commanders are 16th in the league. And they are 12th against the pass in yards. so more mediocre than putrid?

Certainly not the cream of the crop, but thats why i called them "level 2"

by contrast, the teams we have beaten recently are:

Rams (22nd overall)
Panthers (30th overall)
Jaguars (27th overall)

so 16th is a (small) step up. Obviously there will be more steps to take, but this is definitely an increased challenge this week.

And I gotta agree with you, I cant wait to see our defense shut down Daniels' passing if he plays. Im sick of hearing about how great he is. Time to put Caleb in the front runner for ROTY.

Its being reported that Daniels will be playing today. I'm all for it. I want Billings to fall on him and watch him limp to the sidelines.

yeah, time to prove Caleb is the better QB!

I hate how this team is never ready to play in the first quarter. Thats on the coaching.

Caleb needs to settle down, hes overthrowing guys too much. Maybe a little rusty after the bye.

Good to see Dexter is back in there.

Eberflus is an undisciplined gambler. Bleh.

Not on Flus. Not on Waldron. Caleb needs to be able to hit wide-open receivers. I counted 3 really simple throws he missed in the first quarter. Daniels, despite being in obvious pain, is so far the superior performer on the field today. Let's hope Caleb can turn things around.

100% agree.  Caleb with his typical bullshit start.  Maybe they need to get him out there before the game to throw a few more times than he does.  He’s done this basically every game.

I was talking about going for it on 4th and 1 from your own 40 down 6 in the second quarter.

That's crap. Especially with a good defense and world beating punter. I typed that when it happened.

I could argue that Flus also had them flat to start the game, but youre right, the major problems on offense are on the players.

Side note, Kiran is playing for an injured Braxton Jones.

yeah he's missing assignments horribly, but he is winning the physical battles with the guy he chooses to block, so maybe theres hope. he is a smart guy. Yale and all. He should eventually clean that stuff up. better than if he was being physically beaten i suppose.

I think every time this team encounters a higher level of opponent, they will get their lip bloodied.

How they come out after halftime will say a lot. This game is far from over, I know we all agree.

What a rough game.  Only positive is our goal line d holding Washington to FGs. Otherwise their offense is doing whatever they want. While our offense can’t get its head out of its arse.  We’re lucky to be down by 9 and could be up 21-0 at the half.

Jones being out is not good and could impact Caleb having a better half after the break. Washington look a much better team and its a shame our secondary is banged up and Sweat seems to have an injury.

Daniels is had a better half and hopefully Waldron can get the O ticking so Caleb has the better half and we win the game 14-9 🙏

Need some more quick hitting plays and screens to slow down that rush. They have been in Caleb’s face from the get go.  Caleb has been off when he’s had open guys.

I was hoping that Waldron would call quick slants and hitches to help Caleb get some completions especially because we were close to our end zone.

we need a takeaway. lets go.

OK D got the stop, ST blocked the FG - lets see Caleb get it going, show us a 4th qtr comeback.
