Chicago Bears hiring Eric Bieniemy as RBs coach

Featured Replies

Interesting how people couldn't understand why he never got a HC job, now he's down to a RB coach..

Honestly, I think he’s the RB version of Dexter Manley. Great at football, good at X’s and O’s, but probably dumb as a box of rocks, or just straight up illiterate. What other explanation could there be?

Maybe he sees this job as an investment and thinks in a year or two the Bears coaching tree will be the team to raid for HC jobs.

Everyone has their peak, it is ok if Bieniemy's is a position coach. He comes in with OC experience, Allen comes in with HC and DC experience, so overall this is probably the best coaching staff the Bears have ever had from top to bottom if you include Harris, Randle El, and Hightower.

I really think this team is going to surprise next season. I am not going to get all hyped like I did last season, but a 10-win team is not that crazy if you consider they should've been an 8-win team this year (3 Flus losses).

Johnson is easily worth 2-3 wins from Flus/Waldron/Brown. The leap in coaching, scheme, playcalling is almost hard to quantify.

Some people just don't have the personality to be a HC. Assistants have a small room to deal with and HC have to deal with the masses. He's a big catch for simple reason KC always put value in running and were successful.

I think his bigger contribution is likely adding in the screen plays KC runs.   Reid has always loved screens going way back to his days in Philly.  We have now pulled in the guy who helped Sean Payton setup his offense for a young mobile QB.  Bienemy was with KC when Mahomes started out.
