Do the Bears go with 3x QBs on the 53-man?

Yeah, probably. I think Johnson wants an actual veteran in the QB room. 

If Bagent is really still QB2, and Keenum is supposed to be a veteran voice for Caleb, then he doesn't really need to be on the 53 man roster to do that?

I suppose that opens him up to being poached off the practice squad, but unless there is an injury, why would a team do that and pay his contract, when they could have just signed him already at the same amount?

and as QB3, he can already play as an emergency QB if necessary without being on the 53 i think?

Does anyone think he has trade value? We have our future QB, Bagent may end up starting one day but not here. Could we get a 6 th round for him? We don't need a developmental QB with Caleb here.

I do think Bagent has trade value. QBs also get hurt, and having a good backup can save a season. You might be right that a 6th is what others might pay for him right now, but I wouldnt let him go for less than a 3rd or maybe even more because of what he is worth for us.

I think Bagent could be a starter somewhere and be in the 15-20 ranked QB in the league in the right situation. I think the Jets would do better with him than JF, for example.

Im in no hurry to get rid of him. I think he's pretty damned good. Not Caleb Williams good, but pretty damned good

The problem is if he sits on the practice squad, someone will steal him. Ido not see the bears carrying 3 QBs on the 53.

He’s gone before the season starts barring injuries to Caleb and Case.  Just my opinion.

Say what you like but they are looking beyond just being better. They have high expectations. 

I think they have enough rostered players to go to war even without the draft. Add 4  more good players and the win total just keeps going up.

I don't particularly like Keenum so for him to compete with Bagent for #2 is fine by me.  We need people to throw the ball in camp this is a much better option than any UDFA.  

Keenum is here to mentor Caleb, Bagent, and Austin Reed.  He's 3rd on the depth chart and his presence is to help them get up to speed with a new system, breaking down tape, and give them someone to look up to on how a vet goes about preparing everyday though out the season.  

It is a smart move, IMO.  Caleb needed this last year especially getting through the debacle the Bears put him through with Waldron and Brown, then firing Flus.

I agree - he's almost like another QB coach.
