Gervon Dexter is 30 pounds lighter

Featured Replies

New pictures of Dexter show a slimmer player, closer to 280ish than last years 312. I wonder if Allen is going to switch him to DE, and that increases our need for a DT in the draft.

Interesting.

I'm perplexed...

I dunno what it means. Maybe the picture was taken from a weird angle, but he definitely looks lighter. Ill post it below.

Allen likes his ends heavier so maybe it makes sense. Maybe they think Grady Jarrett and Billings are the starters? I didnt think Jarrett had that many snaps in him though?

Whatever it means, you gotta admit, the roster is full enough now that is hard to know WHAT theyre up to. Maybe this is how coordinators are going to feel in game week before playing us LOL

Here is Dexter arriving to voluntary workouts.

same time last year...

He weights 310 with less body fat. People think that pic was photo shopped.

Sources matter, I'm on his X account.

A note: Jarrett, Sweat, Booker, Dexter have been working out together in Florida and a draftee Tyler Baron has been working out with them. Wonder if that will be a sign of him being a future Bear?  6'5"-259-4.62 speed. 6 sacks last year.

It's not about you but taking a snipe at Eric Lambert, he always puts crap out there and you follow him.

Well if it helps I think a ton of what he writes is absolute horseshit. Every day he has another scoop that we are drafting someone else. it's a lot of clickbait. I certainly dont trust him, or listen to him or his opinions as a source.

The one thing that's good about his site is there is a ton of content, and on the rare occasions that there is actual news, he usually has it pretty fast. So from him i get lots of news fast, most of which is crap!

But I saw the pic, and just as when he quotes other people, I am able to deal with what they said, and just that Lambert is repeating it doesnt trouble me as long as it is a picture or a quote.

But yes, we totally agree, when he says unnamed sources say etc, I dont consider it true at all.

I use to follow him for the same reason, lots of interesting things he put out. Then I realized he had bad sources or was making stuff up.

I don't follow him anymore.

Haven't read any reports on his weight drop, but he might be down 10-15#

I'm on his X account and someone mentioned this, his response was ( 310 and lean) . I use to jump on a story without back checking it and have posted bad information on here before. Now I try to get verification first.

Yeah, I never believe anything he says anymore, unless it's a direct quote, usually from a tweet or interview, or a picture. Objective things that I dont need to trust him about?
I certainly don't listen to him, or form any opinions from him, I mostly just read the headlines and then go from there. Anything not in quotes, I pretty much skip over. I use him more like a news filter than a source. If there's no link, then it's some stupid rumor he made up.

6'6" is tall for a Dennis Allen DT. They might slide him outside on non-passing downs? His get off has always been an issue, he is not very twitchy or bendy to be a true pass rush Edge.

I looked up Dennis Allen's DL from 2023, 6-4 287--6 324--6-4 315--6-5 261

We already have similar players in place. 6-6 272, 6-6 275, 6-1 304, 6-1 311, 6-6 310. Counted both Jarrett and Billings.

This is Billings last year and Jarrett has age. Totally expect a DT in the first 3 picks.

Pierce is rated the 2 nd best edge by many and the second round will have several choices but not sure how they rate them.

Allen runs an aggressive blitzing D . I hate to say it but that may make Walker in play at 10.

Who's our 3rd lber?

Most teams are in nickel 60% of the time.  I doubt we'll be different.   Kyler Gordon is your blitz specialist and he's pretty good at it.  Dennis Allen seems to agree based on his comments this offseason.

Yes he said that. He also has Brisker and Byard that do that well. Edwards had 4 sacks last year.

Sanborn’s contract with the Cowboys was only 1 year $1.5 million, so the Bears could have easily beat it if they wanted to. That suggests to me they don’t really see a third LB getting a lot of snaps or being an high priority and/or they think he is easily replacable with someone on the roster (Noah Sewell, Amen Ogbongbemiga, Swayze Boseman) or a late round pick.

right. every snap they take is one where Kyler Gordon isn't on the field.

They signed  Bozeman early this year, they must think he's a better fit than Sanborn, they clearly let him walk.

Sanborn has a great work ethic. Hes tough, plays downhill, makes tackles. He's a "Rudy." Reminds me of Hunter Hillenmeyer or Nick Kwiatkowski. Great effort players, but too slow to play coverage. I think Allen requires that all his LBers be able to play coverage.
