Stinger226 Posted yesterday at 03:01 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:01 AM I find it hysterical that as players are picked, guys say ( I had him as a third round pick on my big board) . Nobody cares about how pundits rated players. Teams all have a big board according to their draft information.

The bad part about drafting someone not able to do training camp is they are not getting the refining/technical live assistance. Once game one week starts, player development is out the window. That is what killed Kiran. Simmons has the talent but will miss the stuff he needs to develop.

But if you get a top 1st round talent at LT for the next 12 years, maybe a half a season isnt so bad?
BearFan PHX Posted yesterday at 03:16 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:16 AM Conerly gone to Washington Ersery isnt gonna fall to us int he 2nd, we will have to make a move if we need him. But Simmons? Hmmm
BearFan PHX Posted yesterday at 03:23 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:23 AM WOW. Here's the phone call with Loveland. First off Poles is so shy and insecure and cringey sheesh. But THEN, check out Johnson. His energy is off the charts - better than any of the press conferences or anything. Look how he is rocking back and forth with excitement. Listen to what he says. This is the most authentic example Ive seen of him with players. More candid than the behind the scenes stuff. Reminds me of Jon Gruden - maniacal about winning. Fantastic. Maybe Johnson is gonna show us all something with Loveland. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/187DKZHkHp/
BearFan PHX Posted yesterday at 03:37 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:37 AM Jihad to the Eagles - more for Fangio. Wow. And Simmons gores to the Chiefs. I dunno about Ersery falling 6 more slots. Texans need an OT, Cleveland picks twice and they need an OT. Maybe we trade up in the 2nd round? Dont love it but... DABEARSDABOMB Posted yesterday at 03:46 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:46 AM Not getting one of those tackles at this point. I’d go get the Michigan db. He is going to be so motivated.

He could overcome it, but if it requires surgery, I think those have 6 month+ recovery time.

He was the same with Caleb, even though they knew it was happening. Warren was an odd ball..."go blue".. Ben Johnson did remind me of Gruden. You can tell he wanted this player. Not saying they didn't want a LT first though. Let's hope we can get Ersery. He is more athletic than Banks. For offense, if they can get Henderson, Johnson, or Judkins I think they will be complete and will be regarded one of the best on paper. Stinger226 Posted yesterday at 04:23 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 04:23 AM Poles isn't a high energy guy. You don't get to be a NFL GM by being shy and insecure. Clearly Johnson had a purpose to add a talented weapon at 10 , there are still OL and DL left to get. They can still get a talented RB in the 3rd round. It's about getting 4 talented players, not trying to fill one need.
ASHKUM BEAR Posted yesterday at 04:52 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 04:52 AM The Bears went all in drafting Caleb. To get the most out of him, they hired Ben Johnson, added 3 pieces to the oline and now drafted a move TE. They can finish this process tomorrow. Stinger226 Posted yesterday at 05:25 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 05:25 AM There are 6 picks before ours. One will be a QB and 2ั teams that already took OL. That leaves 3 chances Ersery will be gone. Plenty of RBs and DEs left to fit our needs. When Poles talked about the draft, he said it was about the best players he could get as a group. There's no one left in the draft that has the upside Loveland does, so they took him at 10. We need to let the draft play out.

I agree that we dont know if they would have taken Banks instead if he was available too. Or Jeanty etc. I also agree, adding Ersery and one of the good HBs would make this all a really good draft. I was so used to seeing Loveland in round two of the draft simulators LOL They really are crazy!

I disagree. We've seen lots of insecure GMs and head coaches on our team haven't we? In fact, for a long time the McCaskeys only wanted to hire beta types. I dont see Poles vehemently disagreeing with anything Johnson says. I'll bet Poles thinks it is his job to serve Johnson, and I LIKE that. But on some teams the GM or owner is the alpha leader. Remember when Jerry Jones got rid of Kimmy Johnson? Let Switzer take that team to the super bowl. Now switzer is no shrinking violet, but he knew when it came to Jerry Jones, he needed to know his place. 15 minutes ago, Stinger226 said: We need to let the draft play out. Who isn't? Stinger226
I think Poles trades one of the 2 second round picks for more capital. If we move back 10 to 15 spots we can get a pick between 90 and 100. Looking at draft Buzz big board, there's several good picks in that range. Charles Grant/OT Darius Alexander/DT Jordon Burch/DE Cam Skattebo/RB Devin Neil/RB Kevin Winston/S Latham Ransom/S Dylan Fairchild/OG

Stinger226
I think the draft has given us some insight into their opinion of the team. It seems they didn't deem LT as a must get priority as a lot of fans have. As I said before, they will let Braxton and Kiran compete and bring a player in to develop because Braxton probably won't be here next year. Johnson talked many times about weapons and clearly added 2 with a RB left to get. He plans on playing chess with our offense and added players he can do that with. They didn't seem to think S and LB needed attention as they added no one in Free agency or in the draft so far. Anyone now would be developmental. I think RB and DE will be addressed in the 4th round. Hopefully Jack Sawyer and Cam Skattebo would make me happy.

I think Banks might have been an option but he wasn’t there so that made it a moot point. They clearly had a higher grade on their 2nd round pick than any OT still on board…the wideout they got was a bpa type of pick who also feels a lot like Amon St Brown. You're right it is a mute point, not any different from saying they would have taken if he was available. I think Johnson's plan was to add playmakers over the trenches. Taking 2 weapons with their first 2 picks. We are guessing at their evaluation of the team, so everyones opinion is valid.

There was no trenches except Ersery to draft. I think Ersery could be better than what we have, but Burden was a 1st rd prospect and they went that route. Ersery was closer to 3rd round in many opinions, I think he will be a name around for a long time. I think they messed up not taking Kaleb Johnson to be replace Roschon Johnson as a 1, 2 combo. Maybe Scattebo will be the pick round 4.
