jason
Don’t understand this one. Maybe we are just picking funny names at this point?

Seems like a UDFA. He was a UDFA, I have not seen a mock have him in any round. Why would they use a 4th round pick on him when they have a 5th and a 7th left. I am not liking this one at all. There is no way this guy is not available in the 7th. So many more accomplished players at need positions on the board and they go with this guy? dawhizz
I learned a long time ago not to get worked up about day three of the draft so I won’t here. Apparently ran a 4.4 40 at his pro day which would have been best of LBs at the combine, (though he’s only 5’11” so he’d better be fast). Was a captain at Maryland and got the defense lined up. Wouldn’t have been my pick but no reason to think he can’t be in the mix to replace Jack Sanborn at that other LB spot.
Stinger226
They are targeting people, we have to see what they have . I read he has 4.42 speed. These picks aren't going to be starters, people to develop.

Still never heard of Hippo.

Sure, most of these guys picked after the 3rd will amount to nothing but rarely do you see a team trade down, lose draft capital in the process, then draft a guy they could've gotten later, which dilutes the draft capital even more. A 5'`11" LB in coverage will be comical.

Right? This smells like Mike Tice falling in love with Jamarcus Webb. One scout in the room probably got lucky while researching Maryland Video and had positive association as a result. That’s kind of what day three is though - where you trust your scouts and your interactions with the players and let that dictate what you think the best players and fits will be. Sometimes it doesn’t work out. Sometimes you get Braxton Jones or Deandre Houston-Carson. Sometimes you get Tristan Ebner or Thomas Graham. For most teams it probably evens out over time. DABEARSDABOMB
I presume this is a Jack Sanborn type of replacement with good athleticism who can also be a special teams guy?
Stinger226 Posted yesterday at 02:48 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 02:48 AM If someone listed his bio without giving his name, people would be liking the team captain stuff, 4.4 speed, high football IQ but because all the football pundits don't give him attention, it's a terrible pick. Did people rave about Sanborn when he came here, no.

Seems more like a Dennis Allen pick because after the draft Poles said DA wanted more speed at LB and this guy was on their list of targets. People like to say same old Bears but they are not. New blood, hopefully different results.
